Chapter 152: The Magical Xiaoxuan Connects Us
On the second floor, Zhang Ze pushed open the door to the VIP room.
After many days apart, he saw a refreshed Lily.
Lily was wearing a mink coat, thirteen rings on her ten fingers, five bracelets on her right hand, and a strand of Buddha beads on her left hand.
Six Magical Artifact Spiritual Jade pieces hung around her neck, and she wore a pair of toad glasses Zhang Ze had made.
The look of a nouveau riche was unmistakable.
Beside Lily stood Stone Girl Xiaoxuan, engrossed in a book. Judging by her appearance, it seemed that her external power bank Thousand Mechanism Armor had been upgraded by Lily as well.
Sensing someone challenging her, Lily was about to make a fierce move, but seeing that it was Zhang Ze kicking the door, she backed down.
"What's your problem?" Zhang Ze stepped forward and removed the toad glasses from Lily's head.
"Making a killing at the auction house? You promised me before, I have it in writing!" Remembering the note she had painstakingly gotten from Zhang Ze earlier, Lily immediately regained her confidence.
"I'm not asking about the auction house, I'm asking how come there's such a large amount? Where did they get so many Spirit Stones?" Zhang Ze pointed to the first-floor hall at the Demon Beast corpse that had been sold for 240 million.
"Oh, they're not calling Spirit Stones, they're calling Thousand Mechanism Points."
Lily pulled out a sheet from under the table and handed it to Zhang Ze.
The sheet outlined the exchange ratio between Spirit Stones and Thousand Mechanism Points, along with some auction notes.
Calculating based on the sheet's ratios, Zhang Ze immediately understood why Lily concocted this set of rules.
Lily was simple; she just wanted to extract more Spirit Stones.
The thrill of bidding a billion is different from bidding a hundred. Listening to the sounds in the hall outside, one would think it was filled with Mahayana old monsters inside.
All voices sounded vigorous, constantly referring to themselves in grand terms, driving up the bidding frenzy.
Plus, Lily's complicated exchange method made it difficult for those who were bad at math to understand how much they had actually spent, causing them to often end up spending tens or even hundreds more Spirit Stones on each in and out.
But judging by the Loose Cultivators' expressions, they didn't seem to care; they even seemed quite happy.
After all, the chance to gather and play this billion-role-playing game was rare.
Occasionally experiencing the life of a tycoon was truly exhilarating.
But Zhang Ze thought this exchange method needed further adjustment.
"We can't just cater to Foundation Establishment and Golden Core Cultivators. As the auction grows, High Level Magical Treasures and Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures will be indispensable for large transactions, which could become problematic." Zhang Ze returned the exchange sheet to Lily.
"For higher-level venues, we should just use Spirit Stone transactions," Lily suggested.
Zhang Ze shook his head, "Add several types of points, each price range auction should have corresponding points.
Add a few types of tokens, then set the exchange rules for each token, like Celestial Palace Points, Celestial Venerate Points, etc.
Exchange 340 Spirit Stones for 3 Celestial Venerate Points, and so forth, with the Celestial Venerate Venue starting at a minimum of five Celestial Venerate Points."
Zhang Ze drew on the tiered pricing and token exchange systems from those money-grubbing mobile games.
After Zhang Ze finished speaking, Li, who sat on his shoulder, counted with her fingers for a long time but couldn't figure it out, so she simply stopped thinking about it. She bounced onto the table and began munching on a melon with relish.
Clever Lily calculated in her head for a while, then jumped up from her chair.
"You're truly the worst, boss! This trick is really sinister; when they're in the heat of the bidding..."
"I was just making a suggestion, it still needs some refining." Zhang Ze, pressing down on the money-minded Lily, planned to take Tang to stroll elsewhere.
But Tang was found staring intently at Xiaoxuan.
"Oh Celestial Master, you..."
"Don't disturb, Taoist is deep in thought." Tang waved his hand to keep Zhang Ze quiet for now.
He circled around Xiaoxuan a few times, yet Stone Girl paid him no heed, only focusing intently on the novel in her hands.
It wasn't until the eighth circle that Tang stopped, asking an unrelated question.
"Little girl, you' Lily, right? Is the floor on the second floor sturdy?"
"Very sturdy, I never cut corners when building houses." Lily replied.
Tang nodded, placed the brocade box containing Big Head on the ground, opened the lid, and commanded, "Come out."
As soon as he spoke, a ball of Clear Qi lifted Big Heads out of the box.
Big Heads were huddled together, hugging their knees on the ground. The VIP room was spacious enough that they barely fit.
And a miraculous scene unfolded.
Xiaoxuan and the Big Heads simultaneously raised their heads.
"Master, this disciple has a request. May master impart a size transformation spell? This disciple's current form is somewhat troublesome for coming and going."
The speaker was Taoist Jin, his words smooth, entirely free of the previous foolishness.
"How many of you are there?" Zhang Ze suddenly asked upon observing the situation.
"Naturally, we are seven people; young friend, why do you ask?" Taoist Mu looked at Zhang Ze in confusion.
Just then, Xiaoxuan spoke up, "Zhang Ze, do you have any other books? This one is quite boring."
Zhang Ze turned to look at Xiaoxuan, finding she had put down the novel and was looking towards him with arms akimbo.
The youthful innocence was absent; Xiaoxuan now seemed rational to a frightening degree.
Not knowing the situation with the Big Heads, Lily was familiar with Xiaoxuan's manner, and seeing her behave in such a way, handed over the exchange sheet.
"Help me calculate. I will charge Spirit Stones in three batches: the first time 135, the second seven times the first, the third one-fifth the sum of the first and second times. Plus any discounts and rebates, what's the final Thousand Mechanism Points total?"
Xiaoxuan glanced at it for a few seconds and provided the answer.
Zhang Ze also handed the sheet to the Big Heads, who quickly came up with their answer, exactly matching Lily's.
Zhang Ze was dismayed to find not only did he calculate the slowest, but he also got it wrong.
Not even as smart as a Big Head...
But Zhang Ze glanced over at Li, who was still eating the melon, and felt slightly better; there was someone dumber than him.
Yet, this mental balance only lasted a moment before vanishing, as Zhang Ze remembered this dumber one was his Spirit Pet.
"Pathetic." Zhang Ze sighed, sitting down in a chair, picking up a melon to eat as well.
After a moment of thinking, Tang instructed the Big Heads, "Return to the box."
"As you command, master." The seven Big Heads responded in unison, then returned one by one to the brocade box.
Tang picked up the box, noticing that after entering the box, the Big Heads reverted back to their foolish state, squatting and playing with dirt.
With the Big Heads' return to the box, Xiaoxuan's rational and intelligent gaze returned to innocent.
The somewhat illiterate aura was back on Xiaoxuan once more.
After modifying her earlier question, Lily asked again, but this time, Xiaoxuan pondered for a long time without answering.
Sitting by munching on his melon, Zhang Ze suddenly remembered the intelligence-boosting trait of the Big Heads when together, and glanced over at the fellow Stone Person, Xiaoxuan.
Were they made from the same material?
"You, come over, I need to discuss something serious." Tang waved Zhang Ze over.
He was surprisingly lucid at the moment.
