Chapter 501: Yarn, Spreading Far and Wide
Not long ago, adventurers both in the Royal City of the Yanor Kingdom and Bed City encountered something strange and bizarre.
During their adventures in the Sain Dungeon, especially in relatively dim areas, there was a small chance they'd come across some unprecedented, even oddly shaped, new monsters.
There were Heavenly Court emissaries with abnormally large blue heads, octopus-like brain-sucking monsters, towering giant fishmen... all from the monsters of Bloodborne.
Sometimes, they would even encounter invaders called "Hunters." Depending on their choice of weapon or preferred attack style, each Hunter had their own prefix such as Sword Hunter, Monster Hunter, and so on.
These fellows appeared without regard to the occasion. As long as the scene was dark and there was a lot of blood, there was a chance they would randomly invade adventurers' battles.
Fortunately, the strength of these invading monsters was not very strong, and for adventurers as a whole, the chance of being invaded was not high, so it only added some hassle to their adventuring lives, without causing major trouble.
Adventurers got used to it.
After all, the dungeon they were in was called Sain, and it wouldn't be normal if this dungeon didn't play some tricks on them every few days.
This situation lasted for almost a week.
The adventurers had various opinions on this matter. Even the most trivial matters that appeared in the dungeon could be widely discussed, let alone an invasion.
People developed an interest in exploring the Heavenly Court emissaries and brain-sucking monsters, which had completely different vibes from monsters in areas like Fran Fort and the Casas Underground Tomb. Naturally, someone thought of the Hunting Manual.
However, the descriptions of these monsters were scarce, and the wording was difficult and obscure, filled with riddles that were hard to decipher, leaving readers feeling irritated and frantic.
Even if some content could be understood, it still left people puzzled.
What's Yarn, where's the little fishing village, what are the Higher Things?
Confused, scratching heads.
Some thought this was just another bit of thrill added by Sain to their adventuring life, no different from previous adjustments.
Some believed this might be a prelude, an event Sain Dungeon cooked up before planning to bring about something new.
Others thought that Sain Dungeon had further evolved, probably planning to create more powerful exhibitions.
Opinions varied, with everyone having a point. Anyways, the information everyone had was basically the same.
However, the fact that everyone knew the same information means that this affair had successfully gained public attention and entered the public's view. The interest in these slightly different-styled monsters had achieved the desired effect of Gong Qiying.
Because it was truly just a prelude.
And a few days ago, one person's return completely ended the varying opinions on this matter.
It was Luluwo, the Leader of the Skyrim Strategy Group.
She and her team returned with a dual version of the latest area's written and visual strategy guide!
Although the visual version of the strategy guide was not very practical due to Sain Dungeon's frequent terrain adjustments, it allowed people to directly experience the features of new areas, making it more popular than some written guides.
What puzzled everyone was that recently Sain Dungeon hadn't unveiled any new area maps, so where did Luluwo get her strategy guide?
Only when the strategy guide began printing, and people learned through leaks from printing merchants, did they know the new area Luluwo made the strategy guide for was called—
Yarn!
It was only when the strategy guide was released that people learned that during these days, Sain Dungeon had actually embarked on an expedition a thousand miles away to another country. There, the locals, with various benefits from Sain Dungeon, carved out a legendary story of reclaiming their homeland from monsters with blood and weapons.
The truth of some parts of the story was in doubt because Luluwo, to better sell the strategy guide, had mixed in a lot of plot elements copied from market-popular novels, but overall the story was similar without major discrepancies.
They even didn't know how they got Isha and the awakened Fanen to vouch for the authenticity of the book's content, displaying a myriad of tricks indeed.
Adventurers were already intensely interested in everything about Sain Dungeon, coupled with Sain Dungeon's "salvation country" event in Red and its subtle similarities to the Black Hawk's Chaos in the Yanor Kingdom.
Additionally, the strategy mentioned overlapping information about Yarn and the recently invading monsters, further spurring people's desire for exploration.
Plus, various other influences and a little bit of push.
In any case, Luluwo's strategy guide sold like crazy this time.
"Hey, intentionally leaking some information from the printing merchants really helped boost sales."
Counting money cheerfully, Luluwo muttered to herself:
"I calculated very well~"
She spontaneously mastered Gong Qiying's hometown's propaganda tactics — officially authorized leaks!
Likewise, with the homeland invaded by monsters, the people in the Royal City empathized and sympathized with Reid people. After all, even now, there were still people cursing Eliphas daily, for various reasons, such as their house, still under mortgage, being destroyed by Eliphas in the Black Hawk's Chaos, yet they still had to continue paying off the loan.
