Chapter 497: Sain's Kindness Can Never Be Repaid (Part 2)
The consciousness of the Insect King disappeared mysteriously, as if it had never existed.
"What on earth is going on?"
Roger pushed his glasses in astonishment.
However, everyone quickly reacted and hurriedly pushed the lower half of her body over to Uffie to attach it, while some exoskeleton parts had to be carefully assembled, akin to assembling a model, luckily without the need to fix any seams.
The consciousness of the Insect King vanished, yet Uffie's body hadn't returned to its original state. Thanks to the body's incredible regenerative ability, after assembly, she quickly regained her form, though her spirit seemed considerably tormented, unfamiliar with her own body.
Roger, seeing this, took out a Red and White Elf Ball, tossing it to release a round pink Happiness Egg. As it radiated Healing Waves on Uffie, he offered her his egg.
With that, Uffie felt invigorated as if she had taken high-purity ice, continuously praising the mysterious egg.
Although she had recovered now, a myriad of problems remained unsolved.
"Why did you suddenly wake up?" Dal was puzzled. "How does your body feel, is there anything unusual?"
He spoke while his forehead was dripping with sweat, occasionally glancing at the place he had sliced in two before. Fortunately, it had already healed, showing no sign of injury.
"Feels okay."
Uffie squeezed her monstrous hand, her expression revealing neither joy nor sorrow, but definitely not without disdain.
How could her extremely beautiful form turn into this creepy shape, can it return back!
"Hu, calm down, calm down..."
First, go back to the Warrior Country and find a doctor, it can't be irreversible, she reassured herself, then turned to look at the others.
"Thank you for helping me, unknown people."
Uffie also noticed Fanen lying on the ground, he had already been rescued and put to sleep with magic, yet his body remained in wolfman form, appearing fierce and terrifying even asleep.
Well, now both who first came to the Capital for great deeds have turned into aliens, how can they go out and meet people?
Though honestly speaking, their current forms still carry some fashionable value, if Fanen were taken out alone, claiming he was a retro beastman could work.
As for explaining Uffie's appearance to the public... say she was bitten by a bug and turned into Bug Woman?
"We actually..." Dal revealed his relationship with the others and Gapar, explained briefly.
Moments later, Uffie's eyes widened.
"Wait, you're Dal?" She glanced sideways, "You're Leon!?"
"No, I'm Maru, this is my boss." Maru quietly pointed at Leon beside her, unable to fathom how Uffie had mistaken her.
In an unnoticed instant, a hint of... competitive desire? passed through Uffie's eyes as she looked at Leon and Dal.
But this emotion was fleeting, it couldn't be determined whether it really occurred.
"How did you get here? I remember you were in another Kingdom."
Upon learning their identities, she, originally straightforward, now sounded a bit tangled, unnatural in speech.
"Long story, are you sure there's nothing wrong with your body now?" After receiving confirmation, Dal glanced at the entrance leaving the underground space and said, "We'll talk as we walk, the surface is still waiting for us to provide support."
He hadn't forgotten the Fran Guards and Hunters were still battling on the ground.
Uffie couldn't understand her own situation now, fearing the Insect King might cause trouble again, so she asked Aleya to bind her with vines.
Leon and Dal each hoisted the two transformed aliens, as the group ascended on Aleya's towering Magic Beans planted, to be conveyed by plants to the surface.
"My Unique Talent seems still usable... can I empathize with you all, I really want to see how you battled the Insect King."
Uffie thought empathizing shouldn't cause any issues with these people, adding, "Absolutely won't see your privacy."
"Go ahead." Dal nodded.
"Thanks!"
Uffie cheekily activated empathy on Dal, witnessing the group joining forces, using miraculous and even outrageous methods to constrain the Insect King.
Feeling somewhat satisfied within.
But how did they eventually defeat the Insect King? It appeared the Insect King wasn't seriously exhausted at all.
Just then, whether by some chemical reaction between her body and the images seen through empathy, another picture appeared in Uffie's eyes.
It was no longer from Dal's perspective, more accurately, she was now seeing what the Insect King saw through Dal.
Indeed, it was the gray wolf Shif and Artorias.
"Ah!"
Uffie's piercing scream suddenly erupted, startling everyone into alert, but they saw no enemies.
What's the shouting for?
People looked at Uffie with the expression conveying that message.
Meanwhile, she seemed to have undergone some mental shock, pointed at Dal yet unable to speak, her gaze towards him becoming solemn and respectful.
"What's wrong with me?" Dal was confused.
"Are you still pretending?"
Uffie immediately relayed the scene she had just witnessed, still feeling residual fear about that sword from Artorias.
"Are you saying inside my mind there's Shif and Artorias? Did they repel the Insect King?" Dal hadn't revealed such a shocked expression in a long time.
