Who Designed This Underworld Dungeon?

Chapter 455: Hunter's Dream and Puppets

I don't know why, but even though he was a Hunter's child, Fanen was particularly timid since birth.

As a child, even killing a fish would make him burst into tears.

But his father, a Hunter named Van Helsing, a man seemingly carved from marble, never gave up on him, tirelessly teaching him various hunting skills.

So his childhood was spent learning bloody hunting skills while crying.

But at some point, Fanen discovered that he seemed to have another state, a serious state.

When he was cornered by prey and enveloped in extreme fear, he would become brave instead, able to expertly use all the hunting skills taught by his father to solve any prey; the hunting skills his father taught were just that strong.

However, the occurrence of this serious state was very metaphysical; he couldn't control it actively.

Once, when the Red Country was peaceful, he thought if it came to that, maybe he'd change careers and become a teacher; wouldn't that be nice too?

However, now, while being chased by a ferocious and violent Wolfman at Yusefka Clinic, all that was in his head was:

Get serious, damn it!

If I don't Burst Seed right now, I'm really going to die!

"Roar——"

The Wolfman let out a roar, spraying saliva mixed with the blood and flesh of some unfortunate soul all over the back of Fanen's head, and he only felt an irresistible force from behind, instantly knocking him to the ground.

Rolling, struggling, evading.

Fanen widened his eyes, firmly grasping the Wolfman's two sharp claws while dodging the bloodthirsty bites, and the spiritual power emanating from him was rapidly rising.

Gaining strength is a good thing; at this moment of life and death, he was actually able to tightly grasp the Wolfman's claws. Although if they stalemated any longer, the one to run out of strength first would certainly be himself, this change was enough to bring joy.

However, just as the emotion of joy appeared in his heart, he looked down and saw a huge gash on the Wolfman's abdomen, as if slashed by some weapon, obviously severely injured.

Oh, so the one I'm fighting is a seriously injured Wolfman...

Even seriously injured, it can still overpower me; truly worthy of being a Monster....

He immediately stopped smiling.

The serious state he was praying for still hadn't appeared, and due to the prolonged struggle, his reaction abilities declined, and Fanen was bitten on the shoulder by the Wolfman.

"Ah!"

Scalding blood sprayed out with the torn flesh, and the Wolfman, tasting human flesh, let out a satisfied growl!

Such a horrifying scene is enough to scare anyone to death, let alone for the naturally timid Fanen, right?

Yet, his expression seemed a bit unusual.

When he smelled the scent of his own blood, his face changed.

The intense pain from his shoulder mixed with the fragrance of blood harshly stimulated him mentally, and even he didn't notice the hint of... ferocity quietly appearing in his brow!

In the next moment, he did something he would never have done before.

He bit the Wolfman on the shoulder!

The tough and hard flesh of the Wolfman was too tough to bite off at that moment, and the coarse hair on the surface was hard as iron, but he quickly ground his teeth, as if crudely sawing through the flesh with a Saw Meat Blade!

This wasn't because he entered any serious state, but rather because the blood previously infused into his body was affecting him!

Under the influence of the so-called Yarn blood, he suddenly had a thought:

The blood of the creature in front of him... smells sweet.

Since the other can eat him, maybe he could choose to eat the other!

Something unbelievable happened; when Fanen tore off a large piece of flesh from the Wolfman, and the foul-smelling blood splattered on him, the wound on his shoulder slowly wriggled, showing signs of self-healing.

Attacking the enemy and absorbing the enemy's blood to heal oneself, this is not a talent a human should have!

The Wolfman howled in pain, biting Fanen's shoulder with its bloodthirsty mouth once again, whereupon the latter fought back, biting at the Wolfman's wound one bite after another.

The two of them quickly rolled down the stairs, constantly grappling on the floor, like two purest beasts slaughtering each other, the only sound on the scene being the tearing of flesh, and in the eyes of an ordinary person, Fanen must be crazy!

But he knew he hadn't lost his mind; on the contrary, he was becoming more clear-headed, realizing that this wouldn't lead to an end, and he would be devoured completely by the Wolfman; he must make some other form of resistance.

Sadly, just as he was about to draw the dagger from his waist, the Wolfman's sharp claws stabbed into his stomach first, the sharp claws twisting his insides, causing him to cough up a mouthful of fresh blood violently, and he lost consciousness in his mouth as well.

His stomach was split open; with such a big wound, how many bites of the Wolfman would it take to make up for it?

The strength surging from his body quickly dissipated along with massive blood loss, and death was imminent.

The Wolfman's massive mouth was getting closer and closer to his neck; is this what dying feels like? The books seem to say that before dying, one's life flashes before their eyes like a flickering lamp, will I see—

Before any memories could appear like a flickering lamp before Fanen, the Wolfman bit off his neck in one bite, and he lost consciousness.
