Whitebeard in Naruto World

Chapter 83: The Fox's Curiosity, Training in the Sealed Space

On this day, Naruto's Observation Haki training lasted until the evening. Losing both his sight and hearing, Naruto endured a lot of suffering again.

After a day's hard training, Naruto was exhausted and covered in various wounds.

But he didn't rest long.

He got up to learn ninjutsu from Kakashi.

Until late at night.

He fell asleep.

Tonight.

Naruto once again entered the sealed space.

During the past few days of traveling, he had been bothering Kurama every single day without fail!

"Annoying brat, are you done yet?" Kurama rolled its eyes irritated: "I'm so sick of seeing your face that I feel like throwing up."

However.

Naruto didn't mind its harsh words.

"Big fox, why can I still dodge Dad's thrown rocks when my eyes are covered?"

"But..." Naruto was puzzled: "As soon as my eyes and ears are both blocked, I can't dodge at all."

"Dad said Observation Haki uses 'listening.'"

"But I can't use my ears to 'listen'..."

Naruto didn't mind the water beneath his feet; he sat down.

He propped his chin with one hand, his energetic little brain spinning.

Naruto was deep in thought.

"Big fox, you've lived for so long, you must be very knowledgeable and powerful, right? What do you think I'm missing?"

Naruto asked curiously.

"Hmph! I, the great Kurama, am not just knowledgeable, I'm extraordinary!"

Kurama proudly lifted its head.

It opened its eyes, looking at little Naruto's troubled expression, with a bit of gloating in its fox smile: "Stop thinking, brat! With your brain, you'll never figure it out in a lifetime!"

"That Whitebeard's Observation Haki is just a special kind of perception that works even when all your sensory organs are blocked."

Kurama had learned about Observation Haki while being inside Naruto.

"Is that so?" Naruto seemed half-understanding: "I didn't expect you to be so amazing!"

Kurama's smug smile grew bigger.

It spoke at length: "Whitebeard's training method isn't wrong. This special perception needs to be triggered in extremely critical moments to activate."

"Then, it's up to you to catch that feeling. Catching the sense of impending danger is what 'listening' means..."

As Kurama spoke, it felt something was off.

Wait!

Hold on!

Observation Haki, what's the principle behind this thing?

It suddenly woke up to a realization.

What Whitebeard wanted to teach Naruto, this "Observation Haki," didn't match with "ninjutsu theory" and conflicted with everything Kurama knew.

Blocking all sensory organs, yet still being able to perceive everything around in another way.

This "third eye" sounded incredibly unreliable!

Kurama remembered Whitebeard explaining what Observation Haki was.

But it hadn't thought deeply about it before. Now, thinking carefully...

——this doesn't fit any ninjutsu principles!!!!

This was Kurama's conclusion.

Kurama frowned.

It stopped boasting and started thinking.

It became curious.

For a fox, once curiosity arises, it cannot be contained.

Even though it was essentially a Tailed Beast, composed of chakra.

It still had consciousness.

It had emotions.

Kurama suddenly had an urge to understand what this thing was.

So.

It thoughtfully looked at Naruto.

"Brat!" Kurama's sinister smile turned even more malicious: "Do you really want to master this thing?"

"Dad's Observation Haki isn't just a thing!" Naruto corrected seriously.

"Just say if you want to learn it!" Kurama rolled its eyes.

Every time Kurama said something bad about Whitebeard.

This brat would always retort a few words.

"Yes!" Naruto nodded seriously.

But then he looked a bit down: "But I don't know how to do it. I asked Dad how long it would take me to awaken Observation Haki. Dad said I'm so young, it would take at least one or two years."

"What if, in a dream, your soul can also train?" Kurama's smile turned even more sinister: "Brat, I don't need you to break the seal, just come inside."

"Come, inside?!"

Naruto looked at the prison holding Kurama. The bars were wide enough for his small body to squeeze through.

"If I go in, you won't eat me, right?"

Naruto asked tentatively.

Kurama snorted: "The great Kurama isn't as despicable as you think. I wouldn't do such a thing, that sounds more like something that tanuki would do."

"Brat, don't you want to master Observation Haki? Don't you want to make your dad proud?"

Kurama's words hit Naruto's heart.

Indeed.

Hearing this, Naruto stopped hesitating: "Dad is so good to me, I won't disappoint him!"

He overcame his fear of the monstrous fox.

He actually stood up and walked to the prison.

He tested the width with his hand.

And squeezed in.

"Brat, you've got some guts!" Kurama pointed with its sharp claws to a corner of the sealed space: "Go over there, don't get close to me."

"Oh." Naruto obediently walked over.

"Now... close your eyes and block your hearing." Kurama said: "In the sealed space, you are a soul, or rather just a consciousness. You can do these things just by thinking about it."

"Alright!" Naruto complied.

Seeing the brat actually close his eyes.

And seemingly block his hearing too.

Kurama's sinister grin reached its ears, and its nine tails slowly moved: "Brat, don't break down too easily. Let the great Kurama enjoy this!"

With that said.

It unleashed a large amount of chakra threads, each ending in a fist.

Instantly!

A chakra fist struck Naruto's right cheek.

Giving him a solid right hook.

"Ah!!" Naruto stumbled, trying to "sense" where the next attack would come from.

But, he sensed nothing.

"Ugh!" The chakra fist hit his stomach, almost making him vomit.

"It hurts, why does it hurt in a dream?"

Naruto struggled to stand.

He gritted his teeth to endure.

He knew this was training arranged by the big fox, though he felt the big fox had bad intentions.

But such an opportunity...

Naruto didn't want to miss it.

"Hahaha! This is awesome! This is awesome!" Kurama laughed wildly: "Minato! Kushina! Can you see this? I'm beating up your kid! Hahaha!"
