When "God" Decides To Start Over

Chapter 242 Great Celestial King_2

"How could I, the Great Celestial King, be someone who forgets kindness? You saved me from trouble, so you're my benefactor. I can't thank you enough, let alone harm you. Moreover, you're the brother of the Unparalleled King. In the future, I still want to visit the Godslayer Shrine with you..." the Great Celestial King quickly said.

"That's easy to say. Initially, the Unparalleled King also said the same thing, but then turned around wanting to bite me. If I didn't have the plaque, I'd probably be dead by now. Being a good person is tough," Li Xiu shook his head and sighed.

"Don't compare me with that fool..." The Great Celestial King was extremely frustrated.

Li Xiu now could be sure that this guy couldn't break free from the Jade Linked Rings on his own. As long as Li Xiu didn't break the rings, he figured it couldn't do much to him. If it had any means to kill him, it wouldn't be wasting its breath with so much nonsense.

Li Xiu sat down against the wall to rest. No matter what the Great Celestial King said, Li Xiu only expressed difficulties and refused to break the Jade Linked Rings.

The Great Celestial King saw that Li Xiu wasn't that easy to coax, so he rolled his eyes and chuckled, "To show my sincerity, you can first lure your enemy here, and I'll swallow him for you, so you won't have anything to worry about."

"That's indeed a good idea." Li Xiu looked out from the cave entrance and didn't see any sign of Bai Wanli, not even Li Qingyi outside.

Li Xiu sneered inwardly, knowing Bai Wanli hadn't left, and figured Li Qingyi was probably controlled by him as well.

"Vice President Bai, it's rather windy outside; it's better not to hide and come in so we can talk." Li Xiu shouted outside a few times, but there was no response, as if they had truly left.

Li Xiu didn't believe it at all. Since Bai Wanli didn't make a sound, he stopped calling and started examining the things inside this grand hall.

Earlier, Li Xiu noticed that on the wall holding the Great Celestial King, many Demon Texts were inscribed. Upon closer inspection, he realized it was some type of Light Condensation Technique.

"What is the name of the Light Condensation Technique carved on that wall? How did it get carved here?" Li Xiu looked it over but couldn't discover the name of the Light Condensation Technique, which struck him as odd.

"You actually understand Demon Text?" The Great Celestial King's eyes lit up, staring at Li Xiu with some excitement.

"I understand it a bit," Li Xiu replied.

"It's great that you understand Demon Text. Can you translate what is written here for me?" the Great Celestial King hurriedly said.

"You're a Demon Spirit and don't understand Demon Text?" Li Xiu asked with a bit of skepticism.

"Why should I understand Demon Text? That broken Demon Text was invented by the people of the Demon Kingdom, not me. Why would I understand it?" the Great Celestial King replied angrily.

"People of the Demon Kingdom? Are the people you mentioned from the Demon Kingdom humans like me?" Li Xiu suddenly realized that what had always been referred to as the Demon Kingdom didn't seem to point to the Demon Spirit Realm.

"More or less, the people of the Demon Kingdom, like you, are carbon-based life forms. They're just much stronger than you Earth humans, but compared to us, they're still considered low-level beings, only capable of making some flashy nonsense," said the Great Celestial King.

Only then did Li Xiu understand that the Demon Kingdom might indeed have been a realm established by humans, though those humans seemed different from Earthlings.

"This says Light Condensation Technique." Li Xiu told the Great Celestial King.

"I know it's a Light Condensation Technique. What I meant was for you to translate the Light Condensation Technique for me," the Great Celestial King hurriedly said.

"My level in Demon Text is average, and this Light Condensation Technique is somewhat profound. I'm not sure if I can translate it accurately. Do you know the origin of this thing? If the background is known, the translation accuracy could be higher," Li Xiu planned to first figure out where this Light Condensation Technique came from and who inscribed it.

Upon hearing this, the Great Celestial King said, "This Light Condensation Technique is something I observed at a large hall in Celestial Gate City and then recorded here on the wall."

"What kind of grand hall was that?" Li Xiu asked again.

"There are so many grand halls in Celestial Gate City; how would I know which one it was?" The Great Celestial King clearly wasn't willing to say.

Though it was a literate creature, it actually went out of its way to remember these Demon Texts it couldn't understand and knew it was a Light Condensation Technique, indicating it knew its value. Otherwise, it wouldn't have bothered to remember it and even engraved it on the Jade Wall, further accentuating the importance of this Light Condensation Technique.

"Alright, let me try then. Don't blame me if I translate it wrong." Li Xiu looked at the Demon Text on the wall and translated it word for word.

Of course, Li Xiu didn't translate it entirely correctly, occasionally replacing with seemingly related but incorrect meanings, mostly sticking to the accurate translation, only introducing some slight ambiguities in certain places.

The Great Celestial King listened and furrowed his brows, "What about 'Dark Gate'? You should be saying 'Jade Gate,' right?"

"In Demon Text, the characters for 'dark' and 'jade' are represented by the same symbol. Only by considering the context and background can the exact meaning be determined. Since I don't know the origin or background of this Light Condensation Technique, I can only literally translate it," Li Xiu said helplessly.

The Great Celestial King pondered silently. It knew this kind of translation wasn't viable—missteps with this could cause significant problems.

After contemplating for a moment, the Great Celestial King spoke again, "I recall hearing other demon spirits say that the grand hall inscribed with these Demon Texts might have been the residence of an ancient Emperor of Celestial Gate City. The Demon Texts engraved there might have been from the Light Condensation Technique practiced by that Emperor. However, Celestial Gate City has long been in ruins, its inhabitants vanished, and the Emperor himself missing. Whether that grand hall was indeed the Emperor's residence, and whether that Light Condensation Technique was indeed the one practiced by the Emperor, I have no way of knowing."
