When Dragon Balls Descend Upon Marvel

Chapter 281: Drake’s Mental Collapse

Riot was blasted away by Venom's charge, but only for a moment—he surged back out of the sea, Michael tumbling beside him.

Off to the side, Carlton Drake stood frozen, his mind reeling. He couldn't believe it. The symbiote had abandoned him.

For someone as proud as Drake, the humiliation was unbearable.

If you've discarded me, then you no longer deserve to exist.

"Their weakness is sound waves. The control room speakers can replicate that effect," he muttered, scrambling for a way to sabotage Riot.

What he didn't know was that Selina and the others had long since learned the symbiotes' vulnerabilities.

Riot noticed Drake's frantic behavior. Emerging from the sea, he casually conjured a massive blade and hurled it straight through Drake's chest. The founder of Life Foundation died instantly.

None of the others spared him a thought. Drake's death was nothing more than the removal of a pest.

Riot faced the trio and snarled.

"All three of you—come at once."

Venom, Michael, and Selina exchanged a glance and rushed him together.

Clang. Clang. Clang.

Their combined assault was brushed aside with ease.

"Haha! You think such meager strength can stop me? Pathetic." Riot's grin widened. "Venom, I'll give you one last chance. Rejoin me. Together we'll return to our world and bring the symbiote army here."

Confidence radiated from him. With Alexei's body, his power was beyond anything he'd ever known. The foes before him barely registered. Still, he offered his kin one final opportunity.

But Venom's refusal came sharp and steady.

"Never. I've grown to love this world."

Riot's eyes darkened.

"Then die here, traitor. I'll lead the swarm and rule this planet. You'll remain a failure."

He bolted for the rocket gantry. Ninety seconds until launch.

Venom shouted urgently,

"We can't let him leave! There are millions of symbiotes on his homeworld!"

The trio struck again, only to be knocked back once more.

Above, Smith Dole watched, arms folded. He shook his head. Riot's fusion with Alexei was overwhelming—Selina's team couldn't match him. At least it was a Baby-from-Dragon-Ball-GT situation, where synergy made one plus one greater than two… not a Fusion Dance where powers multiplied outright. Otherwise, their combined power would be in the hundreds, and a single strike would have ended it.

Still, fortune had spared them. Riot's first choice of host was Alexei, a super-soldier, not Selina, the evolved vampire whose terrifying speed would have made the fight even more hopeless.

As Riot reached the rocket door, prying it open, a calm, icy voice drifted in from the side.

"You think Earth is a place you can come and go at will?"

Smith Dole floated there, arms crossed. In the next instant, his foot lashed out.

BOOM!

The kick cracked the air with a sonic boom. Riot shot away like a missile.

SWISH!

Smith was already behind him, a sharp upper kick blasting Riot skyward.

Eddie gasped in awe.

"My god… that's the boss's power?"

They had struggled as three and failed, but their leader tossed Riot around like a ragdoll.

Selina's eyes shone with admiration.

"That's only a fraction of what he can do."

Michael nodded grimly.

"No one on this planet can match him."

Soaring helplessly, Riot's expression twisted into fear. He had believed bonding with Alexei made him invincible, beyond even Smith Dole's reach. But now, the man crushed him effortlessly.

Desperation clawed at Riot. If he could abandon Alexei and seize Smith's body instead… then no one could oppose him.

He dived. His arm morphed into a spiked flail, swinging down with the momentum of his fall.

CRASH!

Smith's fist shattered the weapon instantly.

Riot's shock turned to greed. This body… this vessel was perfect.

But Smith was already there. His hand clamped Riot's skull. With brutal force, he tore the symbiote's mass open, exposing Alexei beneath.

The soldier gasped, seizing the chance to struggle free. Smith pulled harder, ripping Riot away in a spray of black fluid.

Alexei plummeted earthward, free once more. Smith held Riot squirming in his grip.

The creature twisted desperately, trying to leap onto his arm.

But before it could, a ki blast shimmered in Smith's palm.

BOOM!

The blast detonated, tearing Riot apart. The fragments writhed, but a streak of light lanced out from Smith's fingers, vaporizing them to nothing.

No trace remained. Riot was annihilated—utterly erased.
