Chapter 74: Urgent message from the city lord

I was chatting with Li-er. I told him about the latest gossip from AnNan city.

The Yu family decided to move out of the city after the price of real estate soared. With that money, they moved to a low level city. The same one grandmother and she-wolf cousin were at.

When grandfather Yu saw that the city lord and his lady were coming less often to my residence, he tried to come visit but he was stopped by the city guards. My residence was well protected. In the end he sent a letter to me explaining that they had to leave the city because their stores went bankrupt. He tried to use my father’s love and filial piety to make me see him one last time but I just ignored it. I ordered that any letters from the Yu family be destroyed before reaching me and asked the messenger to let them know of my decision.

There was a time where I wanted to know why my grandmother wanted to hurt me but not anymore. I did not care about them. Where and how they lived was not my problem.

Li-er was more proactive than me. He already checked that his half brother was not reborn - yet -

Aunt Sun refused to go back to her husband’s house. She divorced him soon after she returned to the Sun family. Her brother reaching the late stage of nascent soul helped in that regard. The Sun family was now more powerful than before.

When the Wu patriarch, grandfather of Li-er, learned the reason for the divorce and the culprit, he took care of dealing with Wu ChengLiu’s mother. After investigation, he even found out that the b*stard Wu ChengLiu actually helped his mother with the curse so he directly expelled him.

It took a while to find evidence and witnesses so the expulsion was done only a few days ago. Li-er assigned a guard to spy on him. If he ever left the city I would be notified.

Patriarch Wu seems to be better than Li-er’s father. Li-er told me that he helped him a lot in his first life so he decided to go back to the Wu family and embrace the Wu inheritance. As for his cultivation level, after the curse was removed, he reached mid stage of core formation! Well he was 4 years older than me with a heavenly body constitution so there was no contest between us - that was what I liked to think -

“Master Bai. Master Bai! Urgent message from the city lord!” said Li Bo. It was his day off from school. “The lady labor started and something was wrong. He asked you to come urgently”

I flew away without saying goodbye to Li-er. When I arrived, uncle Huai called me to the delivery room right away. I had told him once about people in another continent

cutting the belly of a pregnant woman if the baby did not come out. Their technique was good enough to have both mother and baby survive. I had, allegedly, read it in a book. However I told him that way before aunt Yan was pregnant. I hoped he would not ask me to cut open Aunt Yan…

“Xiao Shin please use your analyzer to check what is going on?” asked a panicked uncle Huai

Aunt Yan seemed to be unconscious and the maids were crying like she was dead

I walked quickly to the side of the belly area “Let me check her”

The analyzer mentioned that the baby was in a seating position and that there was a big loss of blood. I had improved my healing skills over the years but it was the first time I had to deal with a pregnant woman. There were tips and methods in my brother’s medical books to turn a baby to the correct position but in this world, spiritual power was much more safer and effective

“Let me run my spiritual energy on her body. She is losing too much blood” I said. I had an idea where that blood was coming from. I combined my wood and water roots then gently sent them to aunt Yan’s uterus without touching her with my hands. I stopped the bleeding and started to heal the tear while saying to the noisiest maid “Bring a vegetable and minced red beast soup and a cup of warm water with ginseng, she needs to replenish her blood. Put a lot of vegetables in the soup and crush them. It should be liquid enough to be able to drink it”

The soup would take a while to be ready so I would have time dealing with the emergency without the unnecessary noise. I asked the barely composed maid to get ready to help at the moment's notice then turned to the panicked father “Uncle Huai, you need to send your spiritual energy to aunt Yan to help her regenerate the blood. She is too strong for me. I will change the baby’s position so make sure to not put your energy in the belly area. Target the spine”

Now that the future father had a job he calmed down a bit.

I moved my hands to the stomach and, without touching aunt Yan, I gently sent the spiritual energy toward the baby. I enveloped it and ever so gently turned him around making sure the umbilical cord did not choke him. When I was done, the unconscious aunt Yan woke up

“Aunt Yan, the little boy is healthy and waiting to meet you. Are you ready to push?” I asked with a smile. I was grinching inwardly, where was the midwife?

“The midwife?” She asked

I looked at uncle Huai “euh…I kicked her out. She really did a poor job…” said uncle Huai as to justify himself. A future daddy + city lord power was the worst combination in this situation…

“YOU DID WHAT!” screamed aunt Yan

“PUSH AUNTY. PUCH!” I screamed back. With the extra energy she got from being angry she pushed a few times until the maid had a screaming baby in her arms. She didn't even have to hit his bottom for the cry to start.

I would have nightmares about this experience but at the moment I was concerned I would turn deaf with baby Huai’s screams. I congratulated them then left hurriedly. Really, make an 11 year old boy help deliver a baby…I will remind them that for the next 100 years!

I went to my residence to tell grandma Li and Li Bo the good news. Took some of the soup that was ready and went back to the city lord’s residence. Aunt Yan and the baby had already been cleaned but I refused to go in again. I was scared for life. I just gave the soup to uncle Huai. I really was not sure why I bought soup. I must have been more shocked than anything. I stayed a bit until uncle Huai started drinking wine to celebrate. It was then that I remembered Li-er

I ran back to my residence and called him to give him the good news.

Happy Friday!

In case you are wondering, MC was on the side of aunt Yan and the maid was the one doing the midwife's job so he did not really witness visually the birthing part. There was no way anyone (including myself) would put an 11 year old boy between the legs of a pregnant woman

Warning: Starting next chapter, there would be cliffhangers at the end of each one until the end of the story. Those who don't like it could wait until I release chapter 80 before reading 6 chapters in one shot. After chapter 80, there would be 7 extras
