Chapter 65: Your name is what?
Because teacher Wei was away, I made an isolation array and told him about how uncle Hei took all my wine after I got drunk. I made him laugh with some other anecdotes about his proper and strict granduncle. Jiang-ge would need the ammunition if he had to live with him for a period of time.
We chatted a bit more until it was time to leave school. No one came back from the library so we just left. I found Li-er and his mother waiting for me with Li Yao at the school gates.
“Hello Xiao Shin,” said Aunt Sun, Li-er’s mother. “LiLi wanted to see you as soon as possible so we came. I hope it is not a bother”
“This is a great surprise! Hello aunt Sun, hello Li-er, hello Li Yao. This is my new friend Hei Jiang. He moved to AnNan city not too long ago” I said with a big smile
“Jiang-ge, this is aunt Sun, mother of my friend Li-er. Li Yao works for me but he and his family are like my own” I finished my introduction
“Nice to meet you everyone” said Jiang-ge timidly
“Hello Jiang-ge! We just came to this city yesterday with Shin-ge” said Li-er enthusiastically
“Hello young master Hei,” said Li Yao while bowing. When Li-er saw that, he bowed too. It made all of us smile. So cute!
“I see you made a friend already,” said uncle Hei behind me. He was talking to his grand nephew. After another round of salutations, we said our goodbye and left the school area. I told aunt Sun that I could not show them the city today because I had to get aunt Yan’s permission as it was hectic during disaster preparation time - I was not taking chances for them getting hurt again -
“We did not go out for a city tour. LiLi wanted to see you earlier, that’s all” said aunt Sun
“When I woke up I could not find you. Yao-ge told me that you went to school. How is school? What did you learn?” Li-er asked while showing some pride. Aunt Sun must have explained what a school was not long ago.
“It was fine. I have good friends and the teachers are nice” I replied back. I would have suggested to him to go to school for the next 2 months but the way he was sticking to his mother…let’s just say it was better for him to stay with her for now.
“Mum said that she will be my teacher starting tomorrow! I will learn to read and write and cultivate to be strong!” he said like he waited for ages to make the announcement.
“Lucky you Li-er! Your Shin-ge here is very good in reading, writing and arithmetics. If you have any problems you can come to me” I said while touching my torso with my fist
“Thank you Xiao Shin,” said softly aunt Sun. I just nodded
As usual, it was bustling at the city lord’s residence. Instead of being tired and concerned, everyone was energetic and smiling. I heard that the preparations were going very well. We went directly to my current courtyard. Li Yao reminded me about the plant boost session which I did right away. When he was satisfied, I went to have tea and snacks with Li-er to chat a bit while Li Bo went to do his homework.
To make sure that Li-er’s stickiness to his mother was not because of trauma, we agreed for a gradual absence and aunt Sun left for a bit as a first test. She said she would help Grandma Li in the kitchen.
This was when I learned Li-er's full name. I was lucky I had nothing in my mouth at that time or I would have choked
“Wait. What?” I stammered
“Mum told me that my full name is Wu ChengLi! I have a name as long as yours!” He was waiting for praise but I was too shocked to respond.
What the hell! This was the name of the villainous half brother of that sh*ty protagonist!
The Wu ChengLi I read in that tr*shy novel was gloomy and scary. The book did not explain his life’s experience before adulthood but it was mentioned that his mother died after running away from the Wu residence. His maternal family, the Sun family, were one of his biggest backers against his half brother. And right now he should be older than me!
Aunt Sun and Wu ChengLi…except for his age everything matched
“Sorry Li-er, I was spacing out”... “Your name is really amazing! You will be strong and famously known in the future. I am sure of it!” And he will.
I just had to warn him from his half brother. Mmm, he was too young. I should warn aunt Sun instead
Still, I could not believe that this cute little boy would turn into a cold and heartless adult in a few years… If he could not find his mother or found her dead…then yes, I would see why he would turn like that. Li Bo was my first example of character blackening
As for the age difference, maybe he was cursed or poisoned? Healers already checked him and aunt Sun yesterday. However, with uncle Huai and aunt Yan’s experience that could not be enough. Now that I thought about it, I never tried to see if the analyzer could check a human's health. I took it out and, to be safe, I tried it on me first, I made sure to remove my protection talismans first. I put much more spiritual energy on it to get more details:
10 year old human male. 6th level of Qi condensation. Wood, water and thunder roots …
Ghhh, that thunder instead of lightning naming… Moving on
Health was not mentioned, did it mean I had no health issues or health was not being checked? How about that ‘human’ part… the sh*ty protagonist always complained that his half brother was a monster.
I didn’t want to know something about Li-er that could hurt him in the future so analyzing him might not be a good idea
“What are you doing Shin-ge?” asked Li-er
“I am just testing the analyzer. I want to see if it can check the health of someone”
“I can help. Test it on me too!” Li-er was too innocent to make that decision on his own.
“I cannot without your mother’s agreement” he was a minor and I might uncover something I should not
“I will go ask her” he said while rushing out
“No wait. Don’t go…” He already disappeared.
