Chapter 77: Side Story: Fran, Blade of Satria
"Anything wrong, Fran?" Bobon's tone was laced with worry as he noticed the young girl's foul mood. Her frown deepened, and her grip on him—her wielder—tightened slightly. His thoughts raced. Is she upset about something?
"Shishou..." Fran's quiet voice broke his thoughts. "What is a girlfriend to a man?"
Bobon froze, caught off guard by the sudden and oddly specific question. "Huh? Why are you asking about that?"
"Just answer me." Fran's dark aura intensified as she flashed him a small, yet terrifying smile.
Bobon gulped. There was no escaping this. "A... girlfriend is someone a man loves. Someone he shares a close, special bond with. It's someone he wants to spend his life with, someone he promises to be loyal to." He hesitated before adding firmly, "And you're way too young to be worrying about boyfriends or girlfriends!"
Fran silently absorbed his answer, her expression unreadable. But deep inside, her thoughts churned like a storm. "So that's what it means? But… isn't he already doing that with multiple women?" Her tiny hands clenched into fists. "I won't let that happen. He belongs to me and me alone!"
Determined, Fran opened her reward screen from a recent group mission with Satria.

Fran's eyes glimmered with intrigue. "A warrior so powerful that she's worshipped as a goddess… I want to be like that. I want to become strong enough to protect him."
With steely resolve, Fran selected "Yes."
The moment she did, an excruciating pain erupted in her mind, sending her to her knees.
"Aghhhhhh!" Fran clutched her head, her small hands trembling under the immense strain.
"Fran!" Bobon's voice rang out, panic gripping him. He immediately cast a healing spell. "Healing Magic: Serenity!" A soft, soothing light enveloped her, easing her pain but not stopping it entirely.
The oppressive aura in the dungeon thickened as a new presence emerged, its malicious intent palpable.
A guttural laugh echoed through the chamber. "Hehehe... I thought I was imagining things when I heard a little girl's voice in my domain," a grating voice sneered. From the shadows stepped a horned demon with crimson skin, jagged teeth, and a grotesque, towering form. Its hungry eyes locked on Fran. "What luck... young, tender meat. Allow me to relieve you of this cruel world and make you part of me!"
With a feral grin, the demon lunged, claws extended.

"Why now of all times?" Bobon cursed, panic setting in. "We're in no shape to face something like that!"
Before he could act, Fran moved like a blur. In one swift motion, she severed the demon's arms with terrifying precision. A fountain of dark blood gushed as the creature howled in agony.
"GWAAAAA! YOU DARE?!" The demon staggered back, its dismembered limbs twitching.
Fran straightened, her once-innocent demeanor replaced by a chillingly calm presence. Her voice, colder than ice, echoed through the chamber. "Thou art not worthy to oppose me, lowly demon. Leave now, or face the consequences of thy hubris."
Bobon's jaw dropped. He barely recognized her. "What… what's happened to you, Fran?"
"You insolent brat!" the demon roared, its aura darkened with rage. "Tell me your name before I tear you apart!"
Fran didn't flinch. Her golden eyes blazed with determination as she raised her blade. "I am Fran, Blade of Satria. And from this moment forth, I vow to never allow myself to fall to anyone, for his sake."
The demon let out a guttural growl and prepared to strike again. But Fran, standing resolute, was ready to show the overwhelming strength she had just inherited.
