Chapter 59: Side Story: The God of Hope’s Daily Life (Part 3)
Naruto sat on the balcony of his house under the serene light of the moon, his attention on the Dimensional Chat interface hovering before him.
"Hey, Naruto, how about you test the gacha now?" Kurama's gruff yet familiar voice broke the silence.
Naruto shrugged, his lips curling into a small smile. "Sure, why not?"
He tapped the screen, activating the gacha roll.
Spin 1#: 10,000©
"Nice. With this, I won't need to worry about wasting too much coins," Naruto remarked, leaning back with satisfaction.
Spin 2#: Nen Unlocked
[Description: A technique that allows living beings to manipulate their life energy]
"Nen, huh? Is it similar to Ki?" Naruto muttered, his curiosity piqued.
Spin 3#: You received Angel Breath
[Description: A rare item from the Greed Island game. Angel Breath cures any illness (one-time use)]
"Not bad," he said with a nod.
Spin4#: You unlocked Domain Expansion
[Description: The ultimate jujutsu technique that creates a personal domain imbued with cursed energy, amplifying your abilities within its boundaries]
"Cursed techniques? Never heard of those before," Naruto mused. "But being able to create my own domain sounds incredibly useful."
Spin5#: You received the book 'How to Use Hyakushiki Kannon.'
[Description: Learn to summon an invisible, multi-armed Nen construct resembling a colossal Guanyin statue. The construct's strength increases with Nen enhancement]
"Heh… Now this is interesting," Naruto said, flipping through the book's digital preview.
"Keh… That technique reminds me of Hashirama," Kurama growled, recalling an old grudge. "Madara used it to control me back then. What a pain."
Naruto chuckled. "Still holding onto that, huh?"
Before Kurama could respond, the sound of soft footsteps approached. A blonde woman in a kimono appeared, gracefully sitting beside him.
"Not asleep yet?" she asked, her voice carrying a soothing warmth.
Naruto smiled. "No, not yet. So… Are you enjoying your stay here, your majesty?"
Artoria frowned, elbowing him lightly in the ribs. "Don't call me that. It feels… strange."
"Haha, sorry, Artoria-chan. Life's unpredictable, isn't it? Who would've thought I'd meet someone as amazing as you?"
Artoria blushed, her composure faltering for a moment. "Are you… trying to seduce me?"
"What? No!" Naruto waved his hands in panic. "I was just speaking the truth, that's all!"
Artoria giggled at his flustered expression. "Relax, Naruto. You know… I feel the same way about you."
Naruto froze, his cheeks tinting red. "You… do?"
Artoria's gaze softened as she looked at him. "When I saw your family, I was envious. In the past, I never cared about things like that. I was selfish, only pursuing my goals without considering others. Remember Morgan?"
Naruto nodded, his curiosity piqued. He had always wanted to know more about Artoria's past.
"She's my blood sister," Artoria continued, her voice tinged with regret. "But instead of loving or protecting her, we constantly clashed, trying to harm each other. Do you think someone like me—someone so horrible—deserves a family?"
Naruto didn't hesitate. He wrapped her in a warm, reassuring hug. "If you ask me, everyone deserves a second chance. I had someone I considered a brother, too. We fought all the time, but the last time we met, he protected me from a Juubi that nearly killed me. I believe you and Morgan can reconcile someday, too."
Artoria's breath hitched as his words sank in.
"And as for your question," Naruto added with a gentle smile, "you do deserve it, Artoria-chan. From the start, you've been part of this family. So how about it?"
Artoria's eyes shimmered with emotion as she slowly returned his embrace. "Thank you, Naruto. Now I understand why they call you the God of Hope."
Before she realized it, she leaned up and kissed him—a fleeting yet heartfelt gesture that caught them both off guard.
"Artoria… you…" Naruto stammered, his mind struggling to process what had just happened.
Artoria quickly turned away, flustered. "Don't… even I don't know why I did that. Do you… hate me?"
Naruto shook his head vehemently. "No! That's impossible!"
Before the moment could progress further, a playful voice interrupted them.
"Ahem! Sorry to interrupt, but the children are asking for their daddy," Saeko teased, her smile mischievous. "And maybe we should talk before you two get too cozy?"
Naruto and Artoria's faces turned scarlet, their romantic moment replaced by sheepish laughter.
Side End.
