What Do You Mean There Are Other Transmigrators In My Harem Fantasy?

Chapter 1187: Spar With The Nekinumi King

How did things even end up like this?

I was now standing in a training hall within the palace where the only people here were the King, the Queen, Masuyama and myself.

Opposite me was the King himself holding a nodachi that was pretty much as long as he was tall.

"What happened to making sure I wasn't hurt?" I pointed out, though it feels a little too late to mention it now.

He grinned, "Oh don't worry, Lady Aster! This place has been enchanted specifically to prevent injuries! As long as you fight within this space, you will not be hurt!"

Right… I've always wondered why people don't just make use of this enchantment elsewhere?

Like I wonder if you could somehow set this up while you're camping somewhere in case a monster attacks your camp while you're sleeping? Then even if you get killed, the enchantment would just teleport you outside, effectively giving you an extra life.

I can understand that this wouldn't be useful when fighting enemies since it would also negate your own attacks against them as they will also just be teleported outside but… I always see this only being employed in some kind of training area…

Maybe it's difficult to set up or something?

I wouldn't know, since I literally have no experience with enchanting stuff…

Anyway, since he already brought me here and he's obviously not letting me leave until I spar with him, I decided to just go along with it.

The King raised his nodachi up parallel to him before he suddenly stopped and lowered the sword again.

"How rude of me… It seems like I have forgotten my manners. Forgive me, Lady Aster. I am Yasukazu Nekinumi, King of the Nekinumi Kingdom!"

Oh, right. I actually forgot that he never really told me his name.

At the side, the Queen also gave a bow, "Well met, Lady Aster. I am Asami Nekinumi, Queen of the Nekinumi Kingdom."

The fact that they introduced themselves with their full names and titles was not lost on me and they definitely expected me to give them that same courtesy.

I curtsied, "I am Aster Nilm, current heir of the Nilm Family. It is an honour to be acquainted with you."

King Yasakuza raised his sword again, "The feeling is mutual, Lady Aster. May we have a good fight! Please don't hold back!"

Since he has already said this much, I guess I'll have to fight him seriously as well.

And because he mentioned that he was on par with Justinia in terms of sword skills… He may actually be stronger than me so I can't let my guard down just because this is a friendly spar.

I materialised both my swords in my hands, facing off against the king.

At the side, Masuyama and the Queen were standing close to the wall watching us, both of them staying far away from us.

There was no signal to start so we ended up staring at each other waiting for the other side to move first.

His hand twitched and my gaze moved towards his sword expecting it to move, only for him to leap towards me and closing the distance between us instantly.

His sword came down diagonally from my left and while I could have blocked it with my Shadow Sword that was in my left hand, I chose not to reveal my hidden card so early in the spar yet.

I brought my Light Sword up at an angle, aiming to parry his blade away from me.

But when my blade met his, I found myself being pushed back by a tremendous force instead.

My arm was forced back and I only just managed to leap back to avoid being shoved before his sword cleaved through the space that I had been earlier.

Damn… Looks like he has higher strength than I do… And not just by a small amount either…

As expected of another warrior king I suppose…

That means I can't face him head on and I'll have to adapt a little…

I brought my Light Sword up again while keeping my other hand behind me, making it look like I was more used to using one sword for my fighting style.

The King grinned at me before rushing towards me with his nodachi again, taking advantage of his weapon's longer reach to slash at me from outside my range.

I was forced to leap back again as his blade cleaved through the air in front of me and I tried to take advantage of his wider swing by jumping in before he could pull his blade back.

But contrary to what I thought he would do, he quickly swung his hand back again, trying to catch me with the back of his sword instead.

I moved my Light Sword in its path, tilting the blade at an angle so that his nodachi would be deflected off the flat of my sword and have its path altered upwards instead.

My plan worked as his sword ended up flying above my head, shaving through the air inches away from my head while I closed in the distance.

Unfortunately, because I had already used my Light Sword to deflect his attack, I did not have time to bring it back up to stab at him before he lunged forward and rammed his elbow against me, forcing me to slide back to my original position.

I looked up just in time to see him slash his sword downwards towards my head, prompting me to sidestep it and allowing it to slice the space in front of me instead.

I thrust my Light Sword towards King Yasakuza's chest, but he pulled back that giant sword with surprisingly dexterity, making it look like the sword weighed absolutely nothing as he parried my blow away before it could even reach him.

He swung the giant sword back around and slashed it towards my neck, the blade whistling through the air like a guillotine being dropped towards me.

I barely had time to lean myself to the side at almost a ninety degree angle, allowing the sword to swing above me once more.

Seriously, how much strength does he have to be able to swing that giant sword around like it's some kind of toy?!

Try this then!!

I thrust my invisible Shadow Sword forward, aiming to stab it through his neck.

I was totally expecting that to work since he shouldn't know that I had a sword in my left hand but unexpectedly, he leaned to the side to avoid my sword thrust completely.

The King let out a bellow of laughter, "Hahaha! I could sense the sword edge in that hand from the start, Lady Aster! I already know you have a sword there!"

Sensing the sword edge?! What kind of sense is that?! Isn't this guy a little too OP?!

I saw him move and I instinctively raised my Light Sword just in time to block his sword from crashing into my side.

As expected, his strength was far superior to mine and I found myself being flung away to fly towards the wall.

I managed to flip myself midair and turned to kick my feet against the wall, absorbing the impact before launching myself towards the King.

I tried to make it look like I was aiming to thrust my sword into his chest and he raised his sword in preparation to counter me with an overhead slash.

But right before I reached him, I used my Shadow Sword to smack the tip against the ground, launching me flying upwards to change my trajectory.

I spun in the air, letting his sword slash past me while I flew over him from above while swinging my right arm down to slash my Light Sword towards his head.

He tilted his head to the side to avoid it before he suddenly spun back around, his sword slashing towards me from the side while I was still in the air.

I only just managed to cross my swords in front of me to defend myself against the blow but I was still sent flying away once again.

I flipped in the air to recover, only to see the King already flying towards me with the tip of his sword pointed at my chest.

My swords only managed to move halfway to defend myself before I felt his sword press into my chest.

Before I could worry about the pain though, my view suddenly shifted and I found myself standing at a different place looking at the King thrusting his sword into empty space.

Ah… Looks like I lost huh?

Seriously though, this guy is just way too strong…

And to think that Justinia basically fought this guy to a draw… I guess I haven't really seen Justinia show off her full strength huh?

Hmm… Doesn't this mean that Unerolia is completely outclassed and stands no chance against her cousin at all?
