What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?

My halberd pierced through the 'pirate's' cockpit, skewering the Exo-Knight and undoubtedly splitting the pilot inside into two as well.

Just in case, I pulled back and slashed my halberd downwards diagonally, cleaving the machine in front of me into two.

My other girls also responded to their own attackers in their own way, though all of them still led to the same results where they killed their attacker.

"Go!! Now!" I ordered, turning away from the Exo-Knight I had just destroyed.

We split up and flew to our own targets, with myself boosting towards a trio of those 'pirate' Exo-Knights in the distance.

Most of these 'pirates' still have not realised what happened to the people they sent after us and were completely unaware that they were being counter attacked.

I managed to fly into view of the three Exo-Knights I was targeting before they finally realised that they were under attack.

I activated the boosters to accelerate me towards the closest target, my halberd already poised to thrust towards him.

He only had time to try and point his gun at me before the spear tip of my halberd struck him in the chest, skewering him and the pilot together.

I pushed the joystick to the side, prompting my Exo-Knight to mimic the movement as it swung the halberd to dislodge my enemy from my halberd and send it flying towards another of my targets.

With the second guy occupied with the improvised projectile I launched at him, I flew towards the last guy I was targeting.

To his credit, he managed to react to my presence and lifted up his lance in an attempt to try and counter my charge.

Unfortunately for him, he had been so focused on my halberd that he didn't take into account the other equipment I had on hand.

I swung my shield at his lance, knocking it aside before I tried to cleave him at the waist with my halberd.

I was already expecting this attack to slice through him with minimal resistance so I was surprised when the blade of my halberd struck at the Exo-Knight's waist and rebounded off of it like it was deflected.

Eh? Wait… Shouldn't melee attacks like this get through their shields? So how did it feel like his shield protected him?

When I looked closely, I realised it wasn't that it felt like his shield had protected him, the truth was that it really did protect him as I saw the light shimmer on the surface of the Exo-Knight.

"Daddy! They have melee type shields too! Those can block melee attacks so you need to hit them until it breaks! Although activating this shield would also disable their normal shields so if Daddy wants to, you can switch to your gun too!" Renata explained my unasked question helpfully.

So you can even do something like that huh… Fine then…

I activated my thrusters again to boost me to the side, avoiding the lance thrust he sent my way before I changed the direction of my thrusters to boost myself up above him.

He tried to turn to follow me but I slashed my halberd at him once more which forced him to reverse his direction to avoid having his Exo-Knight's head decapitated.

It might seem like it wasn't a big deal to have his Exo-Knight's head cut off since that's not his real head, but the head also house a number of his sensors so if that was decapitated from him, he might essentially be fighting me blind which would pretty much guarantee my victory anyway.

Unfortunately for him though, it also meant I managed to get behind him.

With his back exposed, I once again tried to slash at him, only for his shield to block my attack once again.

I was wondering if I was wasting my time when Renata spoke up again.

"Daddy! Enemy's shields are at twenty percent integrity!! We just need another hit and it should break!!"

Spurred by her words, I attempted to strike at him again before he could run, only to see something blur at my side and I quickly abandoned my attack to lift my shield to protect myself.

A great force smashed into my shield, pushing me away from my prey and out towards the void of space.

I activated my thrusters to stop my momentum, turning back to face my attacker.

Seems like the other guy managed to recover from having his dead colleague thrown at him and has returned to help his other friend.

Great… This was what I wanted to avoid where I had to fight a two against one.

The both of them rushed at me, not giving me time to catch my breath as they lunged towards me with their lances.

I activated my thrusters again, accelerating my upwards and letting the first guy fly underneath me before I swung my halberd to redirect the second guy's attack away and smashing my shield against his side.

I then turned back around and the first guy was already flying back towards me thinking he could thrust at me from behind so I tried to do the same tactic where I would block the lance and stab him with my halberd but he ended up boosting to the side to avoid me entirely at the last moment.

My eyes gaze at the side where my map was being projected to see the other red dot rapidly closing towards me from above me.

Realising the first guy had been a bait, I activated my thrusters again to shift myself backwards, letting the other guy fly past me from above just mere inches away from splitting me in half.

I idly wondered if I could still survive in the void of space before I had to focus on the fight again when the first guy stabbed at me with his lance, his attack ending up being smacked away by my halberd.

I tried to deliver a counter attack but Renata cried out once again, "Daddy! From below!!"

Again, I had to boost myself back to avoid the other guy that was still trying to skewer me with his lance, which only prompted the first guy to close in again to try and poke me with his stupid lance.

I quickly realised that this was their tactic, one guy would constantly be on me while the second guy would be attempting a charge to kill me.

Fine then, if you two want to play it like that…

I swung my halberd harder than needed to smack the first guy's lance away and forced him to float a short distance back before his thrusters could engage to stop his momentum.

At the same time, I also activated my thrusters to accelerate myself backwards to avoid another charge attack from the other 'pirate'.

But instead of slowing myself down this time, I let the momentum carry me further away to create distance between me and the two enemies I was facing.

I then switched my halberd out for the autocannon and started firing at the one that had been trying to stick to me first, expecting his shield to materialise to take some of the hits.

Unexpectedly, my first shot blew the arm of his Exo-Knight off before the second shot exploded on his chest, leaving a gaping hole at where the cockpit was.

I guess this guy also activated his melee shield or something so his normal shield that would have protected him against these ranged attacks was offline.

An additional screen appeared to show a close up video of the cockpit, revealing the pilot was still mostly fine since they were wearing a full body suit that was designed to be able to operate in space. But obviously, he was literally missing the front part of his cockpit which was a big problem in and of itself.

Not that he had any time to consider that problem because I fired my third shot that struck the cockpit directly, the kinetic round blowing through the entire torso and possibly disintegrating the pilot from the force of the impact and the resulting explosion.

The second Exo-Knight tried to charge at me again but it was a simple matter of me turning to aim my sights at him before I pulled the trigger.

The kinetic rounds blew off his head first before it struck his shoulder and then the thruster on his back.

I watched as the Exo-Knight veered off course from its thrusters exploding, flying towards an asteroid and crashing into it.

He was obviously trying to recover from the impact but with his Exo-Knight's head blown off, he probably didn't even realise he had crashed into an asteroid.

I decided to put him out of his misery by firing a few more kinetic rounds that filled the Exo-Knight with holes.

I turned back to see how the rest were doing and it looks like everyone else had also managed to deal with their own targets.

Perfect, now where's their ship?
