"Testing, testing~ Is everything working?" I asked.
Ries's voice came from over the call, "Yep!! I can see the video feed clearly Boss! Everything's being recorded! Feel free to go wild!"
Alright, that means the cameras that were mounted on my chest were working and Renata should be able to protect it from being blasted.
I then turned to look at my assault team which consisted of myself, Amber, Lea, Yumiko and the original Renata.
Mara and Ries would be staying on the ship just in case they somehow manage to sneak past us and infiltrate into our ship.
"Remember, no survivors," I muttered over our comms.
I flicked the safety off my shotgun and turned towards the docking hatch as it started to cycle open.
Under normal circumstances, I would have opted to wear the Power Armour for this but for this operation in particular, I was aiming to test out how effective Renata was acting as armour.
She had assured me that I would be perfectly safe even if my head was completely exposed.
I pointed that out to her and asked if she needed to eat a helmet to protect my head from getting shot at but she assured me that it would be fine.
The door cycled open and I pointed my gun at the opening, right as shots could be heard coming from behind the door.
No doubt the enemy knew we were going to board them so they had already hunkered down outside expecting to hold us off.
It took all my willpower not to dive for cover as I stood out in the open, making myself a prime target for them to shoot at.
Predictably, the moment the door slid to the side to reveal me standing in the middle of the corridor like a dumb idiot, the rebel Zwergers that were hiding behind improvised cover started shooting at me.
I still flinched when the first bullet struck me in the chest, expecting it to at least hurt or something.
But I felt nothing so I looked down to see the bullet sticking to the top of my shirt and being slowly absorbed into my shirt.
I looked up just as a bullet was flying straight to my face and this time I flinched back in surprise.
But instead of hitting me, it stopped in the air in front of me like there was an invisible barrier, only for the bullet to slowly dissolve away just like the one that struck me on the chest.
It took me a moment to realise what was going on.
"Did you make an invisible helmet for me for something?" I asked the Renata that I was currently wearing.
"Mmm… Not exactly a helmet but more like a faceplate, Daddy~ A see through one!"
Right. I guess that works too.
I pointed my shotgun at the Zwergers shooting at me and fired, nailing them right in their heads as they tried and failed to put me down while I just started walking towards them.
Some of them were using energy weapons but my personal shield blocked those attacks quite easily.
Ries had helped me tweaked it such that my personal shield could defend better against energy based projectiles but in return, it completely nullified its ability to block kinetic type projectiles.
And yes, we did this specifically to test this out.
Amber, Lea, Yumiko and Renata followed behind me, clearing out the other Zwergers who were fully concentrating on trying to take me out despite how useless it looked.
They probably thought I had some kind of shield or something that was protecting me from getting shot, so all they needed to do was to overwhelm my shield to break it in order to kill me.
"How are you holding up, Renata?" I asked, blasting another Zwerger that was firing his assault rifle at me in his face.
"Nom nom~ It's not as yummy as daddy's food but they're still nice~"
"Well… I'm more worried about you being overwhelmed or something. Would it be a risk if too many bullets hit you at once?"
"Ehehehe~ That wouldn't be a problem, Daddy! I can eat everything!"
That's good to hear, since you know… If she failed to eat those bullets I would get riddled with holes.
"Waahhhh!! She's coming!! What are you guys doing?!! Hurry up and kill her!!"
"What do you think we're doing?! We're already shooting at her but her shield's too strong!!"
"Use grenades you stupi-- Blaaaaarrghhh!!"
That Zwerger's instructions were cut short as Lea blew his head open with a well placed shot in between his eyes.
"Can you handle explosives?" I asked, shooting another Zwerger that was hiding around the wall.
"Mmm… I should be fine, Daddy, but I'm not sure if I can completely protect you from it, Daddy."
Got it, that means we should avoid explosives.
As if on cue, one of the Zwergers threw something in our direction, which I assumed was a grenade.
I got ready to catch it to throw it back, only to see the grenade stop in midair before it got sent flying back to the thrower.
Well… I guess Amber caught it first and threw it back before I could.
The explosion rocked through the corridor and the remaining Zwergers got blasted away.
I advanced through the debris and made sure the Zwergers that were lying on the ground were definitely dead.
And those who weren't… A quick shot to the head made sure that was fixed easily.
We continued past their airlock and it looks like their ship had a similar layout where their docking hatch was connected to their cargo bay.
That worked in our favour since it meant we would be able to move their stuff over to our ship faster.
"Ummm… Daddy?" The Renata at the back of our group called out suddenly.
I stopped to turn to her, "What is it? Something wrong?"
"They just launched a distress beacon out, Daddy… They're calling for help."
Shit…
"We better finish up fast before more of them show up then," I ordered, reloading a few more shells into my shotgun. "We don't know if they have bigger ships on standby that we can't beat. Renata, start loading up the stuff here into the ship. Lea, watch her back. Amber, Yumiko, we're heading to the generators to overload them."
Amber tilted her head, "Do we really need to do that? I can just start a fire here and let it burn. Heck, once we finish robbing them, we can just open fire on them to finish them off, can't we?"
I paused, "That's… A good point. I'm so used to dealing with stations that I forgot we're dealing with just a large sized ship this time. Alright then! Everyone, clear out the cargo bay! I'll keep a lookout!"
Renata tilted her head, "There's no need, Daddy. I can handle all of these myself~"
Before I could warn her not to eat everything, six Renatas appeared from the docking hatch, each of them with a different hair colour and maid uniform design.
I… Didn't even know we were at seven Renatas already.
Guess everyone else is on guard duty aside from Renata then!
I positioned myself near the door that I assumed led to the front of the ship, since if there were reinforcements, they should be coming from this direction.
No sooner had I stood in front of it, the door slid open and I was face to face with a group of five Zwergers.
Well… If I didn't have Renata, I wouldn't be standing out in the open but here I was.
And despite the fact that I got surprised by more of them, I recovered faster than they did and levelled my shotgun at the lead Zwerger before opening fire.
He got blasted back to crash into the Zwerger behind him, giving me time to shift my aim to the right to shoot at the next Zwerger in the chest.
The Zwerger on the other side managed to fumble with his rifle to fire a burst of bullets at me but all of them got eaten up by Renata as soon as the bullets hit my chest.
I moved my gun back and fired at the next two Zwergers in quick succession, which left the last Zwerger that had been unfortunate enough to stand behind the first Zwerger rebel.
He only just managed to shift the Zwerger on top of him off to the side before he looked up to see the barrel of my shotgun pointed at him.
I shrugged, "Don't take this personally but… This is just business."
I squeezed the trigger, blasting his head open.
The door then slid closed again, cutting me off from the corridor behind it.
Alright, next group please~
