What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?

How the fuck is this woman still alive?! Didn't she get blown up?!

I looked closer and I realised that the burned skin revealed a cybernetic plating underneath it instead of human tissue.

Is she an android?! No… It looks like she had basically gone through some really heavy cybernetic enhancements and replaced most of her organic body with machines.

From what I can see… Her skin and probably even her skeleton had been changed into mechanical parts… Including her skull as well since I could see parts of her face that had scratches revealing the metallic grey underneath…

Takehashi scowled at her, "Helen… Is this not enough?"

"Enough? Hahahaha! I've lost everything! Don't you know?!"

"So did I… But what happened to the others?"

"Hmph… So you don't even know huh? Hiding in that little hole there. Did you get what you sought after? Are you the Pirate Sovereign now?"

"Answer the question, Helen."

She growled at her, "After that explosion from your little loyal dog, all the stupid androids came down on us and killed those that tried to fight while the rest ran away! Aren't you glad that everyone is dead because of you?!"

Takehashi took a step back as though she was struck and it was clear that she was still not able to let go of the fact that her crew was no longer hers.

Tsk… I didn't want to deal with a woman who was constantly depressed so I decided to step in.

"Really? Aren't they dead because of you instead? Why do you think they died?" I pointed out.

Helen glared at me while pointing at Takehashi who was now behind me, "Because this bitch led us here! If she didn't, all of them wouldn't be dead!"

"Hmm… But she also led us here but we're still alive? So the reason why these guys are dead can't be because of her right? Because if that was truly the case, we wouldn't be alive either. How I see it is that they're dead because of you. If you hadn't misled them to betray her, they would not be left outside here and met with this type of end."

The woman was obviously not happy with my words as she immediately tried to attack me by lunging at me.

I wanted to shoot her with my shotgun at the hip but stopped when I realised the others were also moving in response to her.

Both Amber and Mara had raised their hands, no doubt to use their telekinesis to stop her from reaching me while both Lea and Ries raised their weapons to point at her, fully prepared to blow her head off at that moment.

The surprise, however, came from Renata who had moved in front of me to grab the woman by the throat, completely ignoring the other girls behind me.

"You… You were the one that annoyed Daddy…" She muttered almost inaudibly.

Ah… I forgot that she was on my finger the entire time so she would have witnessed everything that happened even though she didn't say anything.

Also… I have to say that the atmosphere around her completely changed. Previously, she was acting really upbeat and happy go lucky but now, I could feel a dangerous tension rolling off of her.

Despite her being grabbed, Helen didn't sound like she was choking so I assume that even her vocal chords had been cybernetically enhanced somehow.

"Who the fuck is this bitch? And I don't know any daddy of yours so get off me!!"

Renata then pulled back her free arm and I realised she was adopting the same pose as those androids did before they pierced their hands through someone.

Without so much as a moment of hesitation, she thrust her arm forward, striking through the woman in the chest with her hand reappearing behind Helen's back.

Her arm had gone cleanly through the woman and Helen was looking down at her in shock, clearly not expecting that to happen.

I realised that held in the hand that had pierced through Helen's body was her beating heart, which ironically was still organic instead of being cybernetically enhanced.

Renata then pulled back her arm and dropped Helen back on the ground, the woman stumbling back and looking down at the hole in her chest, a mixture of blood and electrical sparks spurting out from the hole.

The woman looked back at Takehashi one more time before she fell over face first onto the ground with a loud thud, her body twitching once before it laid still.

All of us just stared at her corpse for a moment before Renata turned back to revert back to her happy mode again.

"Daddy! Daddy! Did I do good?" She asked, smiling cutely at me while still holding the still beating heart in her right hand.

Right…

I pointed at the heart, "Umm… You might want to drop that…"

Renata looked at it like she only just realised it was there.

"Ok Daddy~" She giggled before she dropped it obediently, though her hand remained soaked in the blood.

But as I watched, a thin layer of clear liquid seemed to cover her hand and the blood disappeared completely.

Self cleaning function? I'm jealous….

Takehashi then slowly limped over to the dead Helen before kneeling down beside her.

I frowned, "Please don't tell me you're feeling sad for that bitch… She is literally the reason why everything here happened."

The Pirate Lord sighed, "You didn't know her, Tera… I would say she just harboured selfish thoughts but would not have acted on them if it weren't for that AI leading her down this path."

"Perhaps. But she still chose to betray you in the end. I'm pretty sure if the AI approached Matsumoto, nothing would have happened so this was still a choice she made."

She then stood up and shook her head at me, "No, no. You got it all wrong. I'm not sad, I'm just disappointed."

I raised an eyebrow, "What? Just disappointed that she tried to kill you?"

"No. Disappointed that she died so quickly that I didn't even get the chance to torture her more before she died. You should tell that kid of yours that killing people like this so quickly is a favour for them. And these people don't deserve such favours."

Oh. Right… I completely forgot this was the exact same person who crushed someone's arm for speaking out of turn.

She's actually a sadist…

"Just asking… Are you actually sad that all of your crew might be dead?" I asked.

"The ones that stayed with me? Of course I am. The ones who betrayed me? I'm just sad that I can't torment them before they die and they got to embrace death before they could actually suffer for crossing me."

I blinked at her, "Then what was all that self depreciating talk earlier?"

She tilted her head at me, "This and that are two different things right? On one hand it was just me wondering if I had truly wasted my own life. This one is about worthless scum who chose to stab me in the back."

Ok, I get it now. The moment those people betrayed her, she never saw them as humans or even just people worthy of existence.

I looked around and decided to change the subject, "Anyway… Don't suppose we can find Matsumoto's body around here considering what he did?"

She shook her head, "It's alright. He always said that he wanted to go out with a bang. I just never thought that he might have meant that literally. The others however…"

Takehashi stood up and walked over to a bunch of corpses that were laying on top of each other, clearly having made a final stand with their backs against each other before they went down.

From their armour, I recognised them as the ones who had stayed on our side the entire time.

"Could we give them a proper send off? And include Nelson too?"

I almost asked who that was until I remembered it was the guy that was the first to fall in our group and was currently stuck in one of those containers right now.

I looked at the corpses, "You want to bury them?"

"No… Burying them on an alien planet like this will not let them rest. We'll cremate them if your crewmate there could spare her fire."

She must be referring to Amber and my lover also knew that and turned to tilt her head at me, silently asking me if she should.

I gave her a nod and she went with Takehashi to extract Nelson out of the container, my lover literally splitting the machine apart with her powers before floating the guy over to the pile.

We then watched from a distance as she set the bodies ablaze with her fire, the entire pile burning up to ashes almost instantly.

It felt a little wrong to loot them in particular so we did not touch their gear and let them burn with it. The others however…

Well, Takehashi gave us her blessing to go ahead and loot them and we spent quite a while picking up everything that looked worth some money, not that we needed her permission to do so anyway.

At least this trip wasn't a complete bust now~
