Chapter 28: Black Dragon Fortress Attacks!
"It's Black Dragon Fortress. Looks like… their real target isn't Grandpa and the convoy—it's Tiemu Manor."
Lin Fan stood atop the courtyard wall, calmly observing the incoming bandits.
When Lin Xia and the others around him heard this, their faces turned pale with fright.
Lin Fan smiled lightly. "Don't worry. Grandpa may not be here, but we still have Third Uncle—and me. Plus, Lin Dong has already broken through to the Heaven Origin Stage."
"Black Dragon Fortress is truly bold to invade Tiemu Manor. This time, we'll make sure none of them leave alive!"
Lin Dong stood tall beside him. "Lin Fan-ge is right. You all just need to stay alert. Focus on the smaller bandits—we'll handle the rest."
Hearing their words, Lin Xia and the other Lin family juniors visibly relaxed.
That's right—even if only Lin Xiao was among the elders, Lin Fan and Lin Dong were both monstrous talents more than capable of fighting.
"Everyone, on guard!"
At that moment, Lin Xiao appeared atop the courtyard wall and shouted, his voice booming throughout Tiemu Manor.
The panic in the hearts of the remaining guards and miners gradually faded.
Weapons were drawn, and the guards rushed to take position on the walls, their expressions grim as they watched the yellow dust rising in the distance.
Soon, a black banner appeared on the horizon.
Emblazoned upon it was a ferocious black dragon, exuding murderous intent.
"It really is Black Dragon Fortress!"
Upon seeing the flag, Lin Xiao's brows furrowed slightly, though he didn't appear overly worried.
He quickly issued orders:
"Fan'er, Dong'er, you two take charge of the defense. Hold off the bandits. As for the two leaders of Black Dragon Fortress—leave them to me!"
"Yes, Third Uncle (Father)!"
Lin Fan and Lin Dong replied in unison.
Most of the Lin family's elite guards had gone with the convoy, leaving those at Tiemu Manor outnumbered by the bandits.
Without Lin Fan and Lin Dong, they would've stood no chance.
As for the enemy's leaders, one was early Heaven Origin, the other mid Heaven Origin.
But Lin Xiao had already stepped into the Small Yuan Dan Realm—taking on both of them posed no difficulty.
"Hahaha! Lin Xiao, it's been so long, and you greet us like this? How rude!"
The rumbling of hooves ceased. Black Dragon Fortress's First Commander Yan Kuo and Second Commander Wu Sha rode to the front and shouted toward the wall.
Lin Xiao replied coldly, "Yan Kuo, Wu Sha—you've brought your entire crew to attack our Lin estate, and you still speak of manners?"
Yan Kuo chuckled. "We heard there's a treasure in Tiemu Manor. Share half with us, and we'll leave peacefully. How about it?"
"Foolish dreams!"
A cold light flashed in Lin Xiao's eyes. "Yan Kuo, if you don't want Black Dragon Fortress wiped from the map, leave now!"
"Men die for wealth, birds for food. If you won't share, then we'll take it ourselves!"
With a sinister laugh, Yan Kuo unsheathed the large blade on his back and launched himself off his horse.
A blazing arc of blade light slammed toward Tiemu Manor's gate!
Lin Xiao's expression darkened. He grabbed a broadsword from a nearby guard, dashed into the air, and clashed with Yan Kuo mid-flight.
CLANG!
A clear metallic ring echoed as the two blades collided, releasing a terrifying shockwave that made all the Lin juniors on the wall shiver.
Thud!
Yan Kuo's wiry frame was knocked back violently, crashing to the ground.
Pfft!
He spat out a mouthful of blood.
Hiss...!
The onlooking Black Dragon bandits gasped.
Their leader—a mid Heaven Origin Stage expert—had been beaten back and bloodied in one strike?!
When did Lin Xiao become so strong?
The Lin family guards and juniors were just as shocked—but their surprise quickly turned to joy.
If their leader couldn't handle Lin Xiao, what chance did the rest of them have?
Lin Xiao's gaze turned cold. He leapt from the wall, sword in hand, preparing to end Yan Kuo then and there.
"Wu Sha! Help me! If I die, do you think Lin Xiao will spare you?!"
Yan Kuo panicked, forcing himself to stand while dragging his blade toward Wu Sha.
Wu Sha's eyes flickered, then he shouted, "Brothers! Kill Lin Xiao! The spoils of this manor—treasures and women alike—are yours!"
With that, Wu Sha charged alongside the Black Dragon bandits, trying to swarm Lin Xiao.
Yan Kuo and Wu Sha stayed near the edges of the chaos, using their men as shields while searching for an opening.
Watching as the bandits swarmed, Lin Fan quickly ordered, "Everyone, stay alert! Don't let any of them break through! Qingtan, take Huo'er and protect the others!"
Qingtan and Lin Xia nodded.
Then Lin Fan turned to Lin Dong. "Let's go help Third Uncle. We'll wipe these bastards out! Bring Xiao Yan—we need him to cripple their horses!"
"Got it!"
Lin Dong answered excitedly. He leapt onto Xiao Yan's back and launched off the wall.
Roar!
Xiao Yan let out a fearsome roar. The Black Dragon horses immediately began to tremble—some even collapsed in terror.
Bandits were thrown from their saddles in chaos.
Lin Fan and Lin Dong dove into the fray, slaughtering enemies like tigers among sheep.
"Big bro, those two are Lin Fan—the Lin family's top genius—and Lin Dong, Lin Xiao's son!"
Wu Sha whispered urgently to Yan Kuo.
"Excellent! You take one, I'll take the other! If we capture them, Lin Xiao won't dare resist us!"
Yan Kuo's eyes lit up.
"Brilliant idea!" Wu Sha grinned wickedly.
"Move!"
With a low growl, Yan Kuo dashed toward Lin Dong, thinking to capture the son to control the father.
Wu Sha targeted Lin Fan, his palm glowing with surging Yuan Power as he struck like lightning, claws aimed straight for Lin Fan's neck!
