Warrior Training System

Chapter 372: Skill Upgrade

Training Points:1321]

There wasn't much change in the system, except for one thing that thrilled Cassian the most: the training points had reached four digits. This milestone fueled his excitement, as it finally allowed him to access some of the system's advanced functions. He had frequently used the simulation function, which replicated the physical movements of any fighting technique he have acces too. However, it couldn't simulate the less tangible, metaphysical aspects of those techniques.

Take the Gale Whisper technique, for example. The system simulated its forms, but Cassian struggled to follow even the basic physical movements. The technique demanded constant motion for several minutes, with each second requiring a different step, slash, or stab—complex maneuvers that built on the various techniques he had already learned.

Cassian was confident that mastering even a single form of the Gale Whisper would allow him to overpower any first-circle warrior he faced. But he was still far from executing it for even ten seconds. To succeed, he needed a deep understanding of the technique and ample practice time, which he sorely lacked.

With the new influx of training points, Cassian hoped to unlock a system function more useful than the current one. As he browsed the options, he found plenty of choices, but they were all expensive.

After careful consideration, Cassian selected two functions he deemed most essential for now. The first was an upgrade to an existing feature:

[Training Field Upgrade

Description: Enhances the Training Field, slowing time inside to flow at a quarter of the speed of the outside world. Trainees can now use the Technique Simulation Module within the field. The upgraded Training Field also includes mana integration.

Price: 400 training points]

The Training Field was Cassian's go-to function, as his time was always stretched thin—constantly on the move or spending moments with one of his ladies. Whenever he found a spare moment, he used the field's time dilation, which doubled his training time. Now, with the upgrade, time inside the field would slow to a quarter of the outside world's pace, meaning four hours in the Training Field equaled just one hour in real time.

This was a game-changer. Plus, the addition of mana integration meant Cassian could now practice mana circulation within the field, a process that previously demanded large chunks of real-world time.

Still, the steep price made him grumble at the system. "Hey, system, you're supposed to help me get stronger, right?"

[Yes, The system's purpose was to help trainees grow stronger.]

"Then can't you give me a slight discount on these? It'll help me get stronger, you know," Cassian asked, his voice tinged with hope. No response came from the system, leaving him to grumble once more. With a reluctant sigh, he clicked purchase.

[Congratulations on upgrading the Training Field, Trainee Cassian]

[The Training Field has been upgraded.]

[Trainee can now enter the Training Field.]

Cassian's excitement surged at the thought of entering the upgraded Training Field, but for now, his focus was on purchasing another system function.

[Situational Combat Simulator

Description: This function immerses Cassian in randomized combat scenarios within the Training Field, such as ambushes or multi-enemy battles, to enhance his situational awareness and decision-making. Scenarios draw from his past experiences, forcing him to adapt his sword techniques under pressure. Opponents mimic real-world enemies, like 3-Star Monsters, with unpredictable attack patterns to sharpen his adaptability and reaction speed. The simulator provides detailed feedback on strike accuracy and defensive maneuvers.

Price: 700 training points]

This function combined elements of two existing tools Cassian already used, but it was far more effective. One merely simulated techniques against a shadow, while the other replayed past fights, highlighting mistakes and areas for improvement. The Situational Combat Simulator, however, allowed him to actively engage in dynamic battles, gaining practical experience. Though the price was steep, Cassian didn't hesitate. Spending points to grow stronger was better than hoarding them and risking death without ever using them.

[Congratulations on purchasing the Situational Combat Simulator, Trainee Cassian.]

[The Situational Combat Simulator has been added to the Training Field. The trainee can now access it there.]

Having spent nearly all the training points he earned from tasks, Cassian sighed and slid off his berth. "I'm heading to the training chambers. I'll meet you all at dinner tonight," he said. Robert gave a casual wave, while Theon, engrossed in a board game, did the same. The three girls on his team, assigned to separate female-only dorms, weren't present.

The personal training chambers, designed for individual practice, were a standard feature in every university in Magesteria City, but this was Cassian's first time using one. He needed solitude to access the Training Field, keeping its existence a secret from others.

As Cassian approached the personal training chambers, eager to test the costly new system function, a sudden system notification startled him.

[Congratulations, Trainee, for spending over a thousand training points for the first time! The system has unlocked an additional function for free.]

[The Trainee can now use training points to upgrade skills.]

"Really?" Cassian muttered, stunned. The system had previously offered to merge skills for training points, but upgrading them was new—and nothing short of a game-changer. Upgrading skills typically required immense effort. "Even Sword Mastery?" he asked.

[Yes, with training points, the Trainee can upgrade any desired skill, including passive skills.]
