Warhammer Divine Throne

Chapter 97, The Final Battle with Belte_2

Such low-level verbal provocations can no longer shake his mind.

On the other side.

Veronica, clad in fiery red leather, moved her fingers as the witch chanted one spell after another.

"Light of Shelter!"

"Scorching Gaze!"

"Fireball Technique!"

The Light of Shelter provided the Sea God Knights and the Duke's Guard surrounding Agneda with a layer of transparent magical protection, greatly enhancing their close combat and magic defenses. The army's combat capabilities were immediately significantly boosted.

Then, the Scorching Gaze spell shot out three beams of pure purification energy, and wherever they went, all Chaos Creatures suffered intense scorching damage. Veronica's spell instantly wiped out more than twenty Deserters.

Finally, the Fireball Technique exploded in the midst of the Dark Creatures, causing the Chaos Sect to collapse, scattering in all directions.

The woman hiding in the middle appeared.

It was Agneda.

This woman no longer had her previous beauty and maturity. Her once celestial face became wrinkled, her skin as smooth as an eggshell turned rough like old tree bark, losing its previous radiant luster. Her shiny black hair turned dry like weeds. In an instant, Agneda transformed from a mature, beautiful woman into a decrepit old woman.

"No~ no~ I don't want this, no, no!!!" screamed the president of the Aesthetic Society, frantically clawing at her face until it was bloodied. "No, no! I shouldn't be like this! No!!"

"This is your true nature," Veronica lightly flicked her glowing fingers, mocking, "Or rather, you've always been this way."

"For your beauty, you have harmed countless living beings. I can see countless unjust souls moving around you."

"Agneda Krausner, it's time to pay the debt for those who died with grievances!" With a slight movement of her lips, Veronica cast a spell, binding Agneda's hands and feet with strands of white threads: "Amentok's Net!"

Agneda's strength was not strong, or rather, she was never strong. This woman excelled in court and high society interactions rather than wielding a sword in battle. Her longevity was entirely due to various forbidden surgeries, organ transplants, and bathing in human blood.

But the power she relied on to fend off Veronica's previous Fireball Technique had already been used, which is why she turned into an old woman.

"Ugh ugh ugh ahhhh!!!" The white threads formed a giant net, firmly trapping Agneda in it. The Sea God Knight Company Commander, wearing a deep blue cloak and full plate armor with the Trident Knight's Badge, spoke: "Lady Veronica, the Archbishop instructed us that her life is necessary."

"Then hurry up, what are you waiting for?!" Veronica snapped impatiently.

"Take action!"

The Duke's Guard raised their spears, and the Sea God Knights raised their tridents.

"You will regret this! Is it wrong to side with the victors? Year after year, the Beastmen grow bolder and the Barbarians stronger. Year after year, the mutants within the Empire increase and things worsen. Humanity is fighting an unwinnable war. I am a pragmatist; it was the Empire that made me wealthy. But when the world perishes, when all things wither, it is Chaos that will allow me to survive! I curse you, you will be reduced to ashes in blood and flames!" In her final frenzy, Agneda shrieked, issuing her last curse with her shriveled voice and hoarse cries.

However, the curse did not descend as she imagined.

The Lord of Pleasure has abandoned her.

In the next second, several spears and tridents pierced her withered body. The president of the Aesthetic Society, who had dominated Marinburg for decades, Agneda Krausner, officially declared dead, her body reduced to ashes by Veronica with flames.

"And now..." Veronica tucked a lock of hair behind her ear, signaling the Sea God Knights and Duke's Guard to withdraw. "The upcoming battle is too dangerous for you to partake in. It is a fight between Laine and me."

"Understood!" The Duke's Guard and Sea God Knights, led by Sir Robert, quickly retreated from the collapsing orphanage while holding a few healthy orphans.

"Boom!" As soon as the words left her mouth, massive smoke and dust erupted from the area where Laine and Belte were located.

The battle between Laine and Belte entered a fever pitch.

"Hah!!!" Laine's strength lay in his wrist power and exceptional long-range resistance. The presence of the Spiritual Stasis Position rendered Belte's Fire Cannon almost useless, and the Fallen Hunter abandoned long-range attacks altogether. He wielded an axe in one hand and a sword in the other, unleashing a ferocious assault on Laine.

The Fallen Hunter's attack speed was extremely fast, each strike attempting to trade injury for life. The sharp axe blade and cold sword tip continuously brushed past Laine's neck and throat, seeking to claim his life.

Laine remained calm, his face expressionless, his eyes as cold as ice. The faster Belte moved, the slower he became. The Double-headed Griffin Warhammer in Laine's hands spun in a strange rhythm, persistently parrying Belte's attacks, with only the sparks flying around illustrating the intensity of the battle.

Laine suddenly realized something, and the White Wolf Knight's eyes lit up instantly. He swung the hammer horizontally, forcing Belte to retreat a step, then launched a whirlwind-like combo attack that drove the Fallen Hunter back repeatedly.

But Belte was no weakling. The Legendary Middle-tier Fallen Hunter had controlled most of the Blood God's power these past few days, and even though he was at a disadvantage, Laine gained no substantial advantage over him.
