Warhammer Divine Throne

Chapter 64, Aarhus Bridge Defense Battle_3

Every Champion Warrior is at least a Peak of Elite Tier powerhouse!

The enormous figure and the red glow from inside the horned helmet made the soldiers shiver in fear.

"Shoot! Attack those big guys!! Aim at their shoulders! Abdomen! And the gaps in their armor!" Nikolai directed the crossbowmen to shift their focus, and under his command, the soldiers immediately turned around.

"Ding~ Ding~" The Champion Warriors gradually became covered in dense arrows.

It was useless; the Champion Warriors didn't pause for even a moment. Instead, their steps picked up speed, as they sprinted towards the crowded shield array of the Nord Army.

"Engage!" Laine took the lead and first encountered a Champion Warrior. The clash of warhammer and spiked mace produced a deafening, piercing sound. The Barbarian Champion Warrior retreated two steps but emotionlessly launched another attack on Laine.

The other two Champion Warriors kept moving, charging directly at the long halberd array at the bridgehead. Facing the solid shield wall, the Barbarian Champion named Kuoloulin rushed to the front of the Long Halberd Array, then swung down his heavy giant spiked mace...

The solid shield array was broken! Amid the screams and splashes of the Nord soldiers, the formidable shield array was smashed by the Barbarian Champion Warriors with a single hammer blow!

"Advance!!!" Bireg raised his mighty axe: "Warriors of the Bearman Tribe! March!!!"

The Barbarian Raiders surged like waves into the Nord Army array.

"Great Swordsmen! It's time for battle!" Aik also raised his longsword. The Great Swordsmen followed this Wandering Knight, launching a counter-charge against the incoming Barbarian Army. As soon as they entered the battlefield, they stabilized the situation, with their two-handed greatswords continuously harvesting enemy lives.

A brutal hand-to-hand combat began. One moment, a Nord Great Swordsman beheaded a Barbarian Raider, the next, he was struck from behind by another Barbarian, falling with a wail.

The Great Swordsmen were more skilled than the Barbarian Raiders, but the Barbarian soldiers outnumbered them several times over. After a fierce battle lasting more than ten minutes, the Nord Army began to be beaten back continuously by the Barbarians.

Laine's full-force impact hit the Barbarian Champion's wrist, causing him to drop his weapon with a scream. He tried to pick it up, but Laine wouldn't give him the chance. The White Wolf Knight's warhammer spun with a whirlwind, swinging at speeds beyond ordinary people. First, it cracked the Barbarian Champion's right hand, leaving him defenseless, then landed squarely on his head. The sound of the horned helmet shattering echoed, and the Barbarian Champion staggered back two steps, then crashed to the ground.

Laine immediately followed up with another hammer blow to his head, completing the kill.

"Oh~ Nord has humans like this?" Bireg saw his Champion dying and showed no sign of distress. He grabbed his war axe, and upon noticing the young knight's attire and dark hair with blue eyes, he burst into laughter: "Ha! It's him! Certainly, it's him! I'm going to take his head off! Offer it to the greatest and most exalted Blood God!"

Laine took the head of the Barbarian Champion and turned to find that the Nord Army was already teetering under the Barbarian assault. Hence, the White Wolf Knight stopped pondering, retreating while fighting. After helping several Great Swordsmen disengage from the battlefield, he issued a military order.

"Retreat! Retreat! Aarhus Bridge can't be held! Let's fall back into Mijordenhaven!"

"Retreat!"
