Warhammer Divine Throne

Chapter 130, Subspace and Deities_2

After saying these, the Lake Fairy gave Laine a sly smile and said, "You surely understand, don't you? My Champion?"

"Yes, I understand, my Lady. This strengthens my resolve to serve you," Laine answered respectfully.

"This makes me very happy. Let us continue, my Champion." The Lake Fairy paused before continuing, "Although we have many similarities with the Chaos Gods in essence, I must say that the power of the Chaos Gods is unmatched by us, because as long as creatures experience emotions, they provide energy to the Chaos Four Gods. Whereas we need faith, need prayers, need guidance from temples and the Church to obtain energy... yet even so, the energy we obtain is far inferior to that of the Chaos Four Gods."

Laine now understood why Yurik, the White Wolf War God, ranked among the strongest of the deities in combat, found himself outmatched when facing the first Chaos Eternal God Chosen "Unifier" Moka.

This situation brings despair.

"The only good news is that the Chaos Four Gods are not very interested in the physical Prime Material World. The Chaos Realm in Subspace is their eternal battlefield, where they concentrate their attention and strategic games, especially the existence of the Great Vortex preventing most Chaos Demons from directly materializing into the Prime Material World, which further reduces the Chaos Four Gods' interest in the Prime Material World," the Lake Fairy held up the Holy Grail, then raised it above her head. "But corruption and decay spread in the Prime Material World, where mortals seeking power and pleasure might attempt to embrace the Chaos, praying for the God of Darkness's gifts. Though we have pointed out a bright path for living beings, this path is relatively narrow, as you know, Laine, my Champion. People's instincts always lean towards getting something for nothing, towards choosing the easier path."

"Haha~ that's right, my Lady," Laine said with a bitter smile.

"Chaos is eternal, while mortal perseverance is fleeting, these victories are transient, but we still need to fight for our own survival. When yet another Eternal Divine Chosen unifies all the Northern Barbarian Tribes, Chaos Demons, and fallen ones from the mortal world and marches south, this world will once again face a terrifying trial. Moreover, I have a premonition that this trial will be unprecedentedly difficult," the Lake Fairy spoke with great concern, "This current Chaos Eternal God Chosen's power is unprecedentedly strong."

"He has already collected four of the five Chaos Divine Artifacts, and I am not his match." The Lake Fairy held the Holy Grail, a gloom settled on her peerlessly beautiful countenance. "Confronting this embodiment of evil, no spell can harm him in the slightest... perhaps Charlemagne can barely oppose him, but I am not proficient in close combat."

"Charlemagne? Is the Lady speaking of Charlemagne the Great? But isn't he... isn't he human?" Laine asked curiously.

"He is human, and he is a deity. When countless people of the empire shout his name in battle, when he becomes the symbol and faith of humanity, he thereby becomes a deity. Do you understand my point?" The Lake Fairy charmingly smiled and gazed at Laine.

"I understand." Laine realized that when countless mortals' emotions coalesce in Subspace, Charlemagne would receive energy and become a deity.

After saying all this, silence fell between the mortal and deity once again. The Lake Fairy wasn't in a hurry; she gave Laine ample time to think, and her Champion's soul and body were far superior to a common mortal, so there was no worry he couldn't handle a deity's revelation.

She suddenly felt that Laine was the best gift Subspace sent her, satisfying her from every angle, his potential and endless possibilities gave the Lake Fairy more hope for the future.

"The Chaos Eternal God Chosen needs much time to unify all the Barbarian Tribes and conquer those Chaos Demons, Laine, my Champion, what we must do is accumulate strength and gradually weaken the God of Darkness to shake its grasp on the future," the Lake Fairy continued, "Do not rush, my Champion. What you need to do first is govern your territory well, I will make arrangements for some matters."

"I will obey your commands, my Lady, but I wish to achieve my goals through my own efforts," Laine gently proposed his idea.

"I will give you this opportunity," the Lake Fairy extended a jade-like finger to Laine's face, her smile bloomed before Laine. "I know what my Champion wants to accomplish, I will support you, but I won't interfere, as the gods were already displeased with my excessive involvement in mortal affairs long ago, and I believe you can certainly do it."

The Lake Fairy's smile seemed to carry magic, leaving Laine a little dizzy, but he immediately steadied himself. "Thank you very much."

"Well, time is almost up." The Lake Fairy nodded, "It's not a good thing to linger here too long. We have plenty of time to communicate, remember to leave a room for me in your castle. I will visit often."

"Alright, I will obey your commands, my Lady." Laine stood up, knowing that this pleasant meeting had come to an end.

"Do you need me to send the Lake God Prophet to assist you?" The Lake Fairy stood up, extending her tender hand like warm jade towards Laine.

Laine held her hand gently, kissed the back of it lightly, then smiled and said, "No need, my Lady. Thank you for your generosity, but I have my ways."
