Warhammer Divine Throne

Chapter 129, The Lake Fairy's Revelation

In the springtime Kakasong Duchy, flowers are in full bloom, the spring light is brilliant, and vitality is bursting forth.

This duchy is located at the southernmost part of Brittania, bordering the Saint Lorenzo Forest (also known as Aisloron) to the east and the Southern Kingdom Estalia at the southeastern corner, while to the north it borders the Duchy of Winford.

The Duke of Kakasong is Hubert de Carcassonne; however, the Duke has recently started preparing for his Holy Grail Trial, handing over all major powers to his advisor—a beautiful Lake Goddess Saintess (also known as the Lake Prophetess) for handling.

This duchy is perhaps the most sacred place in the entire kingdom, for the Lake Fairy Cathedral is established within this duchy. The statue of the Lady of the Lake, towering at eighty meters, can be viewed from afar, delivering an extremely shocking visual impact to visitors.

She is the guardian god of this nation.

Staying in the guest room of Kakasong Castle, Laine gazed at the distant Lake Fairy Cathedral with a sigh: This journey has really taken quite a bit of time.

It took nearly ten days to travel from the capital Crona of Brittania to the southernmost Kakasong Duchy. This distance might only take a few hours in Laine's past life in the Celestial Dynasty, but in this world, a lot of time is consumed on the road. Surya had already arranged the fastest route for everyone, which was to take a ship from Crona's port to bypass the Leonais Duchy, then head south to reach the Boldro Duchy, and finally travel overland to the Kakasong Duchy.

In other words, since Laine entered Brittania, he spent more than twenty days doing essentially nothing, as most of the time was spent on the road. This made him somewhat impatient.

The time had already reached late March, and the fields were bustling with agricultural activity, the atmosphere was fiery. The peasants were working the land for the Master Knights, though it was apparent that their enthusiasm was not very high.

Taking a deep breath, Laine calmed his mind, turning around to find only Ollica in the room. The dark elf sat quietly on a nearby chair, dressed today in a snowy white waterdrop floral dress and a sky blue woolen coat, with her long slender legs wrapped in white stockings, silently seated within the room.

Recently, the dark elf had gradually eased into her role because she had nowhere else to go and was under great threat; the human before her was her only refuge. Once calmed, she obediently became this human's maid, coexisting peacefully.

The human had kept his word, not doing anything to her. At most, he would just hold her, acting as a protective presence. The two typically rested in the same room at night, where he treated her as a fragrant large body pillow.

"Ollica? What's your homeland like?" Laine stood by the window, gazing at the scenery outside.

"Cold, desolate, and withered," Ollica always conversed with Laine in Elf Language: "Naglos rarely sees sunlight throughout the year. Our ancestors left us only the cold and the fight for survival. Arable land is scarce, and we have no choice but to wage endless war."

Laine nodded, as the information he had gathered also indicated the same.

Then came a knock on the door, a beautiful Lake God Prophetess knocked on Laine's door: "Lord Laine, the ceremony is ready, and Her Highness Mogiana is in position."

"Alright!" Laine opened the door; the Lake God Prophetess stood at the entrance, her hair styled into an inverted triangle, wearing a floor-length gown, beautiful...besides the hairstyle which Laine found a bit odd, he preferred long flowing hair.

These Lake God Prophetesses comprised the main members of the Church of the Lady of the Lake—Saintess Order. They could wield powerful magic, serving as powerful mages in times of war and as advisors to Knight Lords during peacetime, or as devout attendants to the Lady of the Lake. They were free, and the nobility had no power to restrain them, yet they would generally respond when called upon for help.

However, Laine's status was different, being a Holy Grail Knight, a Divine Chosen Champion of the Lady of the Lake. Thus, he held some level of authority over these Saintesses and Prophetesses and could earn their respect.

......

Beside the sunny Fairy Lake today, about two hundred Holy Grail Knights participated in this grand ceremony. Nord's "The Hammer" Laine would officially join them, becoming yet another Holy Grail Knight of the Lady.

In solemn and dignified surroundings, Laine walked alone towards the Fairy Lake shore, where the beautiful Lake God Witch Mogiana awaited him. Her voice was dreamlike, and her visage made the surrounding sea of flowers pale in comparison.

The Lake God Witch carried a golden Potion Chalice, dressed in a firmly fitting white floral lace dress that revealed only her bare feet, a dazzling flower crown on her head, with golden hair flowing down her shoulders: "An honorable day, yet another great knight joins our ranks."

"His name is Laine Macado."

"His tale needs no retelling, his exploits are already well-known."

"Now, let us bestow honor upon him!"

Mogiana addressed all the Holy Grail Knights at the Lake Fairy Cathedral.

Then the cathedral burst into thunderous applause and cheers that completely engulfed the air within; every Holy Grail Knight welcomed Laine's arrival, each offering their most sincere blessings. Their attitude was so earnest that Laine himself felt somewhat embarrassed.
