Wandering Meteor

Chapter 539: The Dual Nature of Heavenly Objects

Degenerate Civilization said: "To be precise, it's not our masterpiece..."

Antimatter Civilization scolded: "What kind of joke is this? You have admitted yourselves that you've always been dependent on the Wandering Nebula, so who else could have helped them repeatedly if not you? Don't tell us it's the Entropy Civilization!"

Degenerate Civilization said: "Calm down, let me finish. What I mean is, the Entropy Tree indeed was not created by us, Degenerate Civilization. So when you ask if it's our masterpiece, we naturally deny it. However, in good faith, we also acknowledge that in some subsequent actions, the Entropy Tree has indeed been covertly guided by us. To be specific, there were three instances."

"Which three times?" Antimatter Civilization pressed.

Degenerate Civilization said: "The first time was when we covertly drew the Entropy Tree close to the Star Realm Ball, using it to resolve the Wandering Alliance's predicament then, when they were captured by the Lithium Hawk troops. The second time we used the Entropy Tree to devour the entire Star Realm Ball, intending to eradicate the gap between the Star Zone and the Sky Zone in one fell swoop. The third time we transferred the Entropy Tree from the edge of the repulsion wave backflow, shifting it near the Heavenly Nebula, firstly hoping to preserve this special product—the Entropy Tree—and secondly hoping to use it to resolve the predicament of the Wandering Alliance being pressured by your Anti-molecule fleet at that time. So to be specific, we actually only covertly helped the Wandering Alliance twice, which is not a lot!"

These incidents, except for the third, might not be very clear to the Antimatter Civilization.

However, the Black Hole Lu Chen and the Wandering Alliance were aware, very aware of every single one of them. Especially Black Hole Lu Chen, who felt like he was being watched when near the Star Realm Ball, but unfortunately, he did not find anything back then and let the matter go. He had not expected it was the work of the Degenerate Civilization.

Antimatter Civilization said: "Let's tentatively accept your claim that you only controlled the Entropy Tree three times, but if the Entropy Tree wasn't created by you, who did create it? Why would they let you manipulate the Entropy Tree in secret? Moreover, why didn't your Degenerate Civilization simply take full control of the Entropy Tree instead of choosing covert manipulation?"

Degenerate Civilization said: "You are all very familiar with the origin of the Entropy Tree. At that time near the Heavenly Nebula, your Anti-molecule fleet hit the Entropy Tree with Information Reversal, reverting it back to the Cannibal Tree and Entropy Beast. The process of material evolution is inevitable and doesn't lie, so the Entropy Tree must have been the result of a combination of the Entropy Beast and Cannibal Tree. At the time, we also suspected, like you, whether the Entropy Tree was a new species created by the Entropy Civilization."

"For this reason, we conducted in-depth research on the Entropy Tree. Through this research, we found that the Entropy Tree had actually escaped the control of the Entropy Civilization and became an independent life form with its own independent thinking, not controlled by any other civilization. This is the main reason why our Degenerate Civilization did not choose to take full control of the Entropy Tree. We need more than just tools; otherwise, we could create as many as we wanted. What we really need is an object of observation that possesses its own consciousness and thoughts."

"We later delved further into the evolution and formation of the Entropy Tree and found that its formation was the result of incredibly coincidental factors coming together—it was an alignment of time, place, and people. At that time, a giant Entropy Beast split off a Little Entropy Beast. This Little Entropy Beast encountered an evolving mutant Cannibal Tree within the Galaxy Nebula, and they began to devour each other. However, due to a technological advantage, the Little Entropy Beast clearly had the upper hand. But during this process, the giant Entropy Beast, which had split off the Little Entropy Beast, was eliminated in a war with the De-entropy Alliance. The sudden death of the progenitor caused malfunctions in the Little Entropy Beast's system, allowing the Cannibal Tree, the underdog, to prevail and engulf the core of the Little Entropy Beast, the Black Entropy Ball. But since the Black Entropy Ball had a secondary mechanism in place, the Cannibal Tree could not completely digest it. Instead, they formed a mutual integration. This should be the true origin of the Entropy Tree."

The scientific research of the Degenerate Civilization was largely correct—the formation of the Entropy Tree was indeed a remarkably fortuitous outcome.

This was also the reason why, when the Entropy Tree was reverted back to a Little Entropy Beast and Cannibal Tree by Information Reversal, the Little Entropy Beast ultimately managed to engulf the Cannibal Tree in one go, as there were no coincidences restraining the Little Entropy Beast's strength anymore.

However, the Antimatter Civilization was very cautious and did not readily believe the words of the Degenerate Civilization: "This is just your one-sided statement, how do we know this isn't a story you concocted based on some fragmented clues?"

Degenerate Civilization said: "Our research has reports. If you don't believe us, we can send you the reports!"

Antimatter Civilization said: "Good, we will discuss it after we have studied your research reports. In addition, we also want the report on your research on the Wandering Alliance."

"That won't do, the matter is related to the Wandering Alliance's secrets, you can't give it to them!"

Upon hearing Antimatter Civilization's request, Black Hole Lu Chen and the Wandering Alliance immediately raised objections.

Degenerate Civilization said: "The research reports are the scientific property of our Degenerate Civilization, and we have full rights to dispose of them. The Wandering Alliance has no right to make decisions for us!"

"But, you have helped us twice before, aren't we allies? How can you give an ally's secret information to the enemy?" The Wandering Alliance was a bit puzzled by the stance of the Degenerate Civilization.

Degenerate Civilization said: "There are no eternal enemies, as long as our interests align, we can all become allies. With the current Cosmic Crisis, our real enemy should be the repulsion wave backflow, not each other. Our release of goodwill is in hope that everyone can turn antagonism into collaboration, working together to overcome difficulties. Besides, don't you all know the Cosmic Cycle Theory now? Without sufficient material, it is impossible to restart the Universe, which means we must collaborate."

In the end, the Degenerate Civilization ignored the protests of the Wandering Alliance and sent both the Wandering Alliance's research report and the Entropy Tree's research report to the Antimatter Civilization.

At this moment, the Black Hole Civilization also requested these two reports and posed a question: "We are very curious, was the life form of your Degenerate Civilization always like this, or did it transform into this through technological means later on?"

Previously, while Degenerate Civilization was interacting with the Antimatter Civilization and the Wandering Alliance, the Black Hole Civilization had been observing the life form of Degenerate Civilization. Because the Black Hole Civilization discovered that Degenerate Civilization seemed to be very similar to them, both being microscopic life forms not easily seen with the naked eye.

Yet, even both being microscopic, there were still differences between the two. Black Hole Civilization is a collective form of pure Intention particles, while Degenerate Civilization is a particle form of single particles, possessing the dual nature of celestial bodies and biological life forms. But Black Hole Civilization transformed through technological means; it is unknown whether Degenerate Civilization also achieved this through technological means.
