Chapter 537: Degenerate Civilization
The vast Universe, the boundless starry sky.
A Quasar, colossal in its billions of light-years, was slowly rotating.
And at a certain point within this giant Quasar, a cataclysmic explosion unprecedented in history suddenly erupted. The explosion's giant shockwave swept across hundreds of thousands of light-years, with a multitude of meteors, particles, and other substances forming a rapidly expanding shockwave material sphere due to the energy's disturbance.
If viewed from a cosmic perspective.
This shockwave material sphere appeared like a malignant tumor protruding from the Quasar, exceedingly conspicuous!
Upon seeing this, the Black Hole Civilization couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, and they sent a message to the Antimatter Civilization: "After enduring such a relentless bombardment from both of us, the Wandering Alliance should have no possibility of survival, right?"
"Not necessarily. You don't have much interaction with the Wandering Alliance, but we know a bit about them. This Wandering Alliance is quite mysterious; they've swiftly become a fifth-level civilization, so they shouldn't be underestimated. From the experience and calculations of our Antimatter Civilization, although our joint offensive was fierce, it might not be enough to defeat the Wandering Alliance, now a fifth-level civilization. However, they definitely could not have completely intercepted it, meaning they must have suffered heavy losses. Yet, we must not take them lightly; we must be cautious and can only rest easy after completely absorbing the Wandering Alliance!" the Antimatter Civilization cautioned.
The Black Hole Civilization immediately responded: "If that's the case, what are we waiting for? We should launch a second wave of attack immediately to deliver a fatal blow to the Wandering Alliance. Otherwise, if we wait for the shockwave to subside, it would be equivalent to giving the Wandering Alliance time to rest and regroup. It would be best to hit them when they're down!"
"Great minds think alike; our side also holds this view!"
After a brief communication between the Black Hole Civilization and the Antimatter Civilization, they immediately confirmed the next steps of action.
In the next moment, the second wave of attacks was furiously launched from the surfaces of the Antimatter and Black Hole Civilizations, transforming into a rousing energy torrent that struck directly at the Wandering Alliance engulfed in the explosion's shockwave.
Boom!
After the second offensive entered the shockwave of the explosion, an even more terrifying explosion occurred, the deafening sound reverberating throughout the entire Quasar!
Simultaneously, at the core, the tremor from the explosion expanded rapidly from within, instantly breaking through the shockwave material sphere formed by the first explosion, ultimately creating an even more immense secondary shockwave material sphere.
The first shockwave sphere was about hundreds of thousands of light-years in diameter, while the second expanded to over a million light-years!
From a cosmic standpoint, this scene looked like two overlapping balloons, with the inner one suddenly exerting force and bursting through the outer one in an instant, forming an even larger material tumor on the Quasar, a truly grand spectacle.
Additionally, at the edge of the colossal tumor, shockwaves slowly spread out, eventually sweeping across the entire massive Quasar. If one could observe the Quasar from a horizontal plane, they would notice anticlockwise disk waves appearing on the surface of the Quasar's Accretion Disk – to put it simply, the surface of a disk-shaped object had developed continuing outward-rippling cross-sectional waves.
After the second wave of attack proved effective.
The Antimatter Civilization and the Black Hole Civilization looked at the massive storm sphere with satisfaction.
In their eyes, perhaps the second wave of onslaught still might not be sufficient to completely destroy the Wandering Alliance, a fifth-level civilization, but it would definitely heavily damage the Wandering Alliance, depriving it of its warfighting capability. This was exactly what they needed; only then could they confidently divide up the Wandering Alliance.
However, what happened next took the Antimatter Civilization and the Black Hole Civilization by surprise.
After the tumultuous storm sphere, spanning over a million light-years, had calmed down, the central situation was finally exposed for all to see. Astonishingly, at the core, the Wandering Alliance remained unscathed, floating in place, not at all resembling a civilization that had just undergone bombardment by two fifth-level civilizations.
Around the exterior of the Battle Star of the Wandering Alliance, there was a faint glimmer, like a layer of sparking particles, but this unique phenomenon did not stand out in the bright light of the Accretion Disk. The Antimatter Civilization and the Black Hole Civilization had failed to notice it, their minds consumed by shock at the performance of the Wandering Alliance.
They found it incredibly unbelievable. How could the Wandering Alliance have completely withstood their assault?
Logically, the Wandering Alliance at least should have been severely damaged, but now not only were they not damaged, but they were also completely unharmed, which seemed wholly unscientific. The Antimatter Civilization and the Black Hole Civilization even began to question their existence!
"How is this possible? How could you possibly withstand our assault?" the Black Hole Civilization couldn't help but question.
Before the Wandering Alliance had a chance to respond, the Antimatter Civilization sent a message first: "Under normal circumstances, the Wandering Alliance definitely couldn't resist our attack. This is evident from their use of the Jump Engine to dodge, which proved unnecessary if they could avoid expending so much effort. Yet the outcome is so far from what we expected, indicating only one possibility—that the Wandering Alliance has methods unknown to us, or that another civilization has aided them!"
Initially, the Antimatter Civilization had been shocked by the unscathed state of the Wandering Alliance and hadn't noticed anything.
But as they came to their senses, they suddenly remembered the Wandering Alliance being helped by some mysterious force when faced with danger before. Thus, the Antimatter Civilization began to carefully investigate the surroundings and finally discovered the special existence that flickered in and out around the Wandering Alliance.
The Antimatter Civilization speculated that this unique particle layer might be the behind-the-scenes power backing the Wandering Alliance, and very possibly the manipulator behind the Entropy Tree.
Subsequently, the Antimatter Civilization sent a message: "Degenerate Civilization, since you've already revealed yourselves, why not be straightforward? What's the point in hiding?"
"How did you discern our identity?"
The flickering particle layer turned into a steady light and sent a message to the Antimatter Civilization.
The Antimatter Civilization replied: "It's not difficult. There aren't many fifth-level civilizations in the Universe, and only fifth-level civilizations could survive up to this point. In our Antimatter Civilization's intelligence database, besides your Degenerate Civilization, we have some information on the other civilizations—Entropy Civilization, Krypton Gold Civilization, Black Hole Civilization, Wandering Alliance; none of them match this form. So by process of elimination, the result stands clear."
The Antimatter Civilization continued: "Although at the beginning, we didn't have any information about your civilization and didn't know where you were, and the Wandering Alliance was unwilling to disclose your whereabouts, we understood one thing—if you had protected the Wandering Alliance before, then we only need to put the Wandering Alliance in jeopardy again, and you would naturally show up. What we didn't expect was that you were actually hiding with the Wandering Alliance all this time."
In fact, the alliance between the Antimatter Civilization and the Black Hole Civilization targeting the Wandering Alliance also involved this strategic consideration.
If the civilization hiding behind did not wish to appear, then the Wandering Alliance would be eradicated; hence, regardless of the outcome, it was a situation the Antimatter Civilization was pleased to witness.
