Waiting For Your Reincarnation

Chapter 26

The next day, Yeon-young stood in front of the mirror and touched the lapels of her uniform. The middle uniform still felt uncomfortable.

The bracelet on her right wrist caught her eye. The light pink gem sparkled as it caught the light.

As she silently admired the bracelet’s appearance, the light flashed intermittently. Someone called out to Yeon-young over the comm.

It was Ryu Won. Yeon-young quickly started to organize her luggage.

The night at the house was surprisingly comfortable. Once she had tasted the comfort, she was eager to move into the dormitory.

She remembered the conversation they had at the dinner table yesterday.

“Mr. Ryu Won, when can I start practicing my skills?” “Whenever. As soon as it’s convenient for you.” “Is tomorrow okay?” “Ms. Yeon-young, feel free to use me, I’ll do whatever you want, no matter what it is.”

Yeon-young decided to start practicing today. She couldn’t put it off.

She didn’t know when the Snarl would invade again and threaten her survival. She had to learn how to use her abilities as soon as possible.

When she went downstairs following Ryu Won’s call, she found that both the snacks and the teleportation portal to the center were already prepared.

Obviously, the aftereffects weren’t as strong as the first time, probably because she had teleported many times before.

She doesn’t even have to lift a finger.’

She thought to herself as she prepared to go to work with Ryu Won.

It was comfortable and nice, but at the same time she felt a sense of urgency.

His promise not to mess with her up was becoming a reality.

When they reached the lobby of the center via teleport, they met Saeri.

Saeri smiled warmly and greeted her first.

“Youngest, how was your first night without me?” “You have a big bone in your body, don’t you?”

Ryu Won interrupted.

“Of course, but what are you doing here, Ryu Won? You haven’t set foot in the center for months.”

Ryu Won ignored Saeri’s question as if it wasn’t worth answering. It was up to Yeon-young to answer.

“He was here to help me with my enhancement training.”

Yeon-young answered.

Saeri nodded with an expression of approval. She crossed her arms and tucked the papers in her hands under her armpits.

“I have to check the guy [Snarl] who came to the youngest’s office yesterday because he was a little out of sorts.” “Why?” “If it’s a simple mutation, I’m glad, but if it’s an evolution, it’s disturbing. And the energy in the ground is terrible.”

Saeri looked as if she’d stepped on a piece of chewing gum on the floor, and she, too, seemed to have a deep dislike for Snarl.

What sins had it committed to deserve the hatred of the spirits?

Saeri smiled wryly and disappeared, leaving them with a warning to train hard.

Yeon-young and Ryu Won left and entered the elevator.

The Soul Protection Center didn’t only have a ground level, but also an underground level.

As the elevator went down to the basement, they could see that the entire underground building was made up of training grounds.

At first glance, it was as large as an outdoor sports field.

A handful of people in navy blue security team uniforms were running around the field in formation.

“The security team is training.” “So we can’t use the training field?” “Probably not, let’s go inside.”

The security team was busy running around the field, keeping a watchful eye on them as they moved away.

Everyone was curious as to why the special team was here, but they didn’t seem to get any closer.

Ryu Won didn’t do much more than move to the corner.

He just stood there with his hands in his coat pockets and stared at Yeon-young in silence.

She swallowed dryly. She had no idea what the drill would be like, and that made her unnecessarily nervous.

He took his hands out of his coat and held them out in front of her. She could see the backs of his white hands, straight and unbent.

“Take my hand.” “You want me to take your hand?” “Yes.”

Yeon-young looked at him suspiciously, wondering if this was some kind of trick, but Ryu Won still held out his hand and waited for her.

Unable to resist, she reached out and wrapped her hand around his. A comfortable, soft feeling seemed to float over her entire body, like the energy of food.

But it was just a pleasant touch, and she couldn’t tell what it had to do with her ability training.

It was like a very soft, warm spring breeze blowing all around her.

“Can you feel it?” “Yes, I can feel it, a warm breeze.” “What we’re going to learn today is how the abilities work in the soul. Right now you have no sense of your abilities.” “That’s right.” “Your senses don’t seem dull to me, you just need to get a feel for them once and it’s easy after that. Close your eyes and feel the flow going through you and you’ll see.”

The flow of power. Concentrating on the flow, she closed her eyes and took a deep breath.

She tried to be aware of the pleasant sensation she felt when Ryu Won’s hand touched hers.

As she continued to focus on the flow, she began to see it, faintly at first, but then more and more clearly, just as  Ryu Won had said.

She realized that the smoke, which was as white as Ryu Won’s hair, was actually enveloping not only their body, but also the entire area around them.

 ”I think I can see more…”

Just like smoke moving in the direction of the wind, it felt like there was a direction for the power to flow.

Calmly, she followed the direction of the energy flow backwards.

 “Ah.”

Ryu Won’s sudden groan caused Yeon-young to open her eyes in surprise, and the flow of power in front of her disappeared.

 “Mr. Ryu Won?”
“I’m fine, it’s just that you squeezed my hand for a moment and scared me.”

Even though he said it, Ryu Won’s ring finger on his left hand was red and swollen from her unconsciously tight grip. Feeling sorry for him, Yeon-young gently rubbed the area.

He smiled with the corners of his mouth turned up and held the machete in his hand.

“I’m sorry, I was just going with the flow and thought it was coming from here.” “You read the location of the core?”

He stopped playing with his hand and focused on what Yeon-young was saying.

She explained the sensation she had felt earlier, forgetting that she had caught his thumb tip.

“Didn’t the wind come out of your ring finger and wrap around us? That’s why I thought your ring finger was the source of your powers.” “That’s right, the core of my power is in the ring finger of my left hand, and it varies from soul to soul.” “Am I seeing things right?” “You saw it clearly.”

Ryu Won stared at Yeon-young in disbelief.

He clenched and unclenched his left hand with the same face. Yeon-young did the same.

She hadn’t expected to see any results from just one training session.

“Good job. When you feel more comfortable with it, you can practice this flow by focusing on yourself.” “Okay, okay.” “Oh, by the way, don’t say you know the location of your core and don’t try to tell me.” “Why?” “Because few spirits can see it, and that is a fatal weakness.”

Yeon-young was startled and carefully pulled her hand away, but Ryu Won grabbed it again, insistently, and she could do neither.

“If you get hurt here, your life will be in danger.” “I’ll be careful, but…”

Yeon-young stared at him with an uncomfortable expression. Ryu Won looked at her as if to ask what was wrong.

She glanced over to where the security team was, then leaned closer to Ryu Won and whispered in his ear.

“I think I spoke too loudly earlier, but what if they heard me?” “Ah.”

He looked over at the security team with a relaxed demeanor. They didn’t turn their heads in that direction, but they seemed to realize that Ryu Won was looking at them.

The tension in the training center was palpable. Ryu Won chuckled.

“I think I can beat them.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the security team started running around the drill ground again. They must have heard him, but they pretended not to.

His cocky attitude was frowned upon, but he wasn’t wrong.

The special team was a team of souls with rare abilities, even within the center, and even those souls had well-founded confidence in Ryu Won, who was lightly trampling on their abilities.

She was worried for nothing. Yeon-young sighed heavily and let go of Ryu Won’s hand.

No, she tried to let go.

He still held on to her hand and refused to let go. It was as if she was completely trapped in a noose under the sea.

“What should you do, Ms. Yeon-young? You have to take responsibility.” “What?” “You know my weakness.” “Did you do it on purpose…”

Yeon-young was caught in Ryu Won’s net without even being able to pull it out.
