Waiting For Your Reincarnation

Chapter 24

The Snarl breach is over, and I am at a crossroads.

Stay at someone’s house instead of the dormitory.

The option of staying alone in the office has been eliminated due to security concerns.

Saeri, who returned with Jaeho hidden somewhere, urged me to choose one of two options.

“Leave Jung Jaeho behind. Ryu Won, me. Choose one or the other. Who is it?” “Aren’t you more comfortable in your own house than with your boss, the chairman?” “I have many rooms in my house. We can live as if we don’t exist.” “Yeon-young, you know that three-story house?”

Even though I hadn’t said which house I would choose, a fight broke out between Ryu Won and Saeri. They wanted me to move into their house.

“You don’t have a three-story house. Funny, you. Since when do you care about newcomers?” “This one is special.” “Stop, stop, stop. Why are you all fighting over me?”

I stopped the fight by stepping between them, as if dirt or wind would blow up at any moment.

In fact, there was a strong sense of being there in my eyes. As I always said, I felt uncomfortable wherever I went.

I wondered if she would be more comfortable with the same sex.

It was a moment of reflection. Taking a sip from the water on the table, Ryu Won spoke a word of conversion.

“Ms. Yeon-young, don’t you want to get a grip on your abilities? I can help you.”

It was a good enough offer to fall for. Saeri looked at Ryu Won with a look of disbelief, but he didn’t care.

Skills. The confrontation with the Snarl had made me aware of the need for skills training.

I don’t know when the other special team members started working, but they all had their abilities.

But I couldn’t, and I needed a strategy, especially since I had no physical ability.

I said as if I was ready.

“Saeri, I’m sorry. I’m going to stay with Mr. Ryu Won for a while.” “That’s right, you have to. It’s a good choice.”

It was a moment when Ryu Won and Saeri were clearly at odds.

***

The next day, I packed a few simple things and went to Ryu Won’s house.

My jaw dropped at the exterior of the sunny, ivory-colored house, which I could only see by tilting my head. It looked like something out of a movie.

The house was in a residential neighborhood, but it was secluded, and there were many trees and flowers near the house, creating a beautiful green landscape.

“It’s really big.” “It’s big, isn’t it? Do you like it? This is the house where we’ll live together.”

This place wasn’t too far from the center, both on the map and in distance.

On the map, the center was in the middle, with the village at the bottom and a big forest at the top.

The Special Forces housing complex was between the center and the forest.

I didn’t expect it to be that big, because it was only four houses at most.

Even on the map it looked like the four houses were close together, but in reality you had to go a long way to get to the other spirits houses.

It was a street where it was clear that they were determined never to disturb each other’s territory.

“Where should I receive my lot?

Ryu Won put his hand on the door and used the wind to open the iron gate.

There was a stone path leading up to the front door, flanked on both sides by plush lawns, and the exterior was magnificent.

I took a cautious step.

 “Shall we go inside?”

Ryu Won repeated what he had done earlier in front of the iron gate and opened it.

“So this is why the chairman said that the security at the employees’ homes is so much better, huh?” “It’s because they have security with their abilities. Why? Have you fallen in love?”

Ryu Won opened the front door wide and gestured for me to go inside first.

The living room of his house was just as sunny as it looked from the outside, with sunlight streaming in through the floor-to-ceiling windows and a soothing view of the forest beyond.

When I save enough money, I want to buy a house like this.

“Ms. Yeon-young, the first floor is mostly used for business, so let’s go to the second floor first.” “Okay.”

They walked up the wooden stairs to a hallway that was neither narrow nor wide, and he led her through it to the innermost room.

He grabbed the doorknob and smiled a smile that made the corners of his eyes curl. Unlike before, Ryu Won’s mood seemed to lift.

“Here. The innermost room is the one we’ll use.” “Um… huh?”

My ears perked up. I looked at him with one eyebrow raised. Ryu Won wore a faint smile of amusement.

He was honest.

For a moment, satisfied with the beautiful home, I turned and headed for the stairs. Then Ryu Won laughed out loud and grabbed my wrist.

 “I’m just kidding. Not yet.”

Ryu Won opened the door closest to his room.

I was nervous about being right next door to this man, but the moment I complained, I had a hunch that we would really share a room.

I walked into the room without a word.

At the same time, I was impressed. This room, like the living room, had floor-to-ceiling windows and was bright and airy.

It felt like a whole house was inside this room.

“It’s so nice.” “As long as you marry me, it’s all yours.”

I stepped inside, mesmerized, and walked up to the glass window and tapped it with my hand. Despite what it looked like, the glass was quite sturdy.

“Don’t worry, Snarl won’t be able to break through it, and if the sun is too strong, you can draw the curtains.” “Yeah, okay.” “And….” “What?” “If you get scared in your sleep, you can always come into the next room, I’ll be there to keep you company.” “No thanks.” “If you need anything, just let me know, it’s just the two of us now.”

Ryu Won acted as if he had forgotten that I would be moving out in a month.

He said the unfamiliar words without changing his face once and left the room.

As soon as he left, I began to look around the room seriously, as if I had been waiting for the right moment. Despite the size of the house, it was very well kept.

As if someone was here who would return one day.

I opened the door to the bathroom, which I hadn’t seen before. The first thing I saw was a large white bathtub that could hold three people.

What was unusual was that I could sit in the tub, lean back, look up and see the sky through the glass ceiling.

The view of the clear, cloudless sky felt familiar, like I had seen it before.

“I can’t imagine paying for a place like this.”

I turned the lever on the bathtub faucet and warm water gushed out. Despite the enormous size of the tub, the water came in quickly.

The water flowed without clogging, and I felt tired. I hadn’t washed well in the office the last few days.

“I’ll take a bath to relieve my tiredness.”

I took off my clothes, put on a robe from the bathroom, and stepped into the tub. It was nice to be able to see the sky, but I was a little embarrassed that the window was transparent.

The water smelled like grass, even though it was just water from the faucet.

Sitting in the bathtub, I folded and unfolded my hands. The question of abilities had come up again.

It would be easier if she knew how they worked.

Right now, it felt more like using my powers than using them.

“It would be better if it was in the physical world.”

But I decided not to blame my powers. After all, abilities were hard to change unless I was reborn and became a phantom.

If I could learn to control my abilities, I could improve and adapt.

I finished organizing my thoughts in the bathroom, toweled off my hair, and stepped out of the bathroom.

 Knock!—

There was a knock at the door.

“Ms. Yeon-young, I’m sorry, I’m taking a break. Do you mind if I come in now? If you’re doing something else, I can come in later.” “It’s okay, please come in.” “It’s none other than…”

Ryu Won entered the room and naturally met my eyes.

His whole body stiffened as if he was hypnotized. Uncharacteristically, he looked away as soon as his eyes met mine.

“Ms. Yeon-young, I’ll be back later.” “What? Why?” “Clothes.” “Oh.”

I looked at my clothes. Even though I was wearing a robe, it wasn’t something Ryu Won would misunderstand or be embarrassed by.

When I saw him turn around, I suddenly broke into a puppy dog grin.

Playfulness tingled in my toes. I called out to him.

“Mr. Ryu Won, Mr. Ryu Won.” “What?” “Turn around.”

As Ryu Won slowly turned, I untied the straps of my robe and tossed it aside.
