Chapter 48: Hippolyta, Who Has Already Been Tempted
Diana hugged the pillow quilt and the ancient Greek-style white robe that she had changed into. The ancient Greek robe was simply a pile of white cloth worn on the body. Now, Diana's mind was full of training, and she was going to meet Norton in the cave on the shore.
Diana arrived at the cave with her daily necessities and saw Norton standing on top of a boulder. He was using one finger to stand upside down, showcasing his well-built muscles reminiscent of ancient Greek sculptures. Although they were not exaggerated, they were still beautifully shaped.
Seeing Diana standing there in a daze, Norton had no choice but to call her back to her senses: "If you want to stand there and watch, I have no problem."
"Oh! I'll put these here," Diana quickly regained her senses and, in a panic, pointed randomly: "I should go to training, bye!" After speaking, she ran away without looking back.
In this situation, Norton could only apologize to Steve, the soldier who had not yet arrived. Diana seemed to be fascinated by him. Not long ago, Gwen had promised Universe 65 that he would not interfere with women. "Oh, my damn charm," Norton murmured. He made a slight effort with his fingers and landed himself firmly on the ground. Looking at the boulder in front of him, he raised his hand and aimed at it. "Boom!" His fingers suddenly retracted, and he made a fist to strike the boulder. The boulder burst instantly, sending gravel flying around.
"Wow."
"Um?" Norton suddenly heard an exclamation, but found nothing but stones. However, he was sure he knew who the owner of the sound was. Diana's training was fake, but her peeking was real. Norton didn't mind Diana's spying and walked into the cave directly with his daily necessities.
"Diana, where have you been?" Antiope questioned Diana with her hands on her hips. It was time for training, but their princess had kept them waiting for nearly half an hour.
"Sorry, I went for a walk along the coast."
Antiope frowned, sensing something was amiss: "Why do you like walking so much these days?" Ever since the day of the intruder, Diana had been distracted during training and often lost in thought in her room. It was simply suspicious.
"Walking can calm my mind and better prepare me for everything I will face." Diana's response was absolutely convincing for Antiope. These words were taught to her by Norton, so that she could better help him hide himself. Antiope's frown slowly relaxed. She knew very well what kind of responsibility Diana would shoulder. Ares would come to her sooner or later, and Diana's time was running out.
"Diana, you should have had a wonderful childhood, but we have no time to choose. It's time for you to face everything by yourself."
"Master General, Her Majesty the Queen has something to ask of you." Just as Antiope was comforting Diana, an Amazon female warrior approached. Antiope frowned, nodded to the Amazon warrior, then looked at Diana and said, "You continue training here. I will return soon."
After speaking, Antiope mounted her horse and followed the Amazon warrior, leaving the training ground. When Antiope arrived at Hippolyta's palace, she saw Hippolyta standing by the window, gazing at the scenery outside.
"Hippolyta, what do you want from me?" Antiope inquired. Hippolyta continued to look out the window, lost in thought for a moment, and then said, "Antiope, I found the intruder."
"I'm going to kill him." Antiope narrowed her eyes, a dangerous light flashing in them, and as she prepared to turn and leave, Hippolyta stopped her.
"You can't kill him. I tried," Hippolyta replied, turning her gaze away from the window to face Antiope. "Just now, I led the Amazon fighters to capture the intruder, but...in just a few minutes, all our Amazon fighters were defeated by him."
Antiope trusted Hippolyta's words. The Amazons have existed since ancient times. In terms of physical fitness, there might be no group stronger than them on the entire earth.
"Really, only a few minutes?" A name flashed in Antiope's mind, and she stared at Hippolyta with wide eyes. "Is it Ares?"
Hippolyta shook her head. She had seen Ares's appearance and was familiar with his aura, which was full of tyranny and murderous intent. "Although he is a man, he doesn't have Ares's aura. He is calm and shows no hostility towards the Amazons. He was merciful to our people, and he possesses abilities even Ares doesn't have."
Only then did Antiope understand what Hippolyta meant. She approached her sister, her eyes filled with confusion. "Are you serious? You want to give up the idea of capturing him? He is a man. Maybe Ares has found a way to hide his presence?"
"Antiope, perhaps I'm not as skilled in battle as you are, but when it comes to judging people, I don't think I'm any less capable."
Antiope looked at her sister for a long time before asking, "Why did you come to this decision?"
"My dear sister, I see in him the possibility of defeating Ares. Maybe he can help the Amazons and Diana through this difficult time."
