Chapter 7 Uncle 6
"Awoo!"
"Awoo!"
"Awoo!"
After a hundred or so colossal Snow Wolves sprinted close to Jin Xu and the others, they arranged themselves into an intermediate-sized square formation with exceptional proficiency. Then, they neatly sat on the ground, raised their heads high, and let out a long howl towards the sky.
It seemed as if they were performing some kind of special welcome ceremony.
"Hmm, not bad. It looks like your training hasn't slackened in the months I've been away," Little White said, first scrutinizing the "oversized Huskies" in front of her, then nodding her head in satisfaction, praising them with contentment in her eyes.
Shortly after, she tilted her head slightly and, with a hint of boastfulness in her tone, turned to the little Taoist on her back and Yu Yaoer and asked,
"Temple master, Sister Little Yu, how about it? These little guys aren't bad, right?"
"Hmm... Not bad, it's just this scene... I feel like I've seen it somewhere before," Jin Xu said as he touched his nose.
While speaking, he had already jumped down from Little White's back, looking at the group of well-behaved and orderly oversized Huskies in front of him with a hint of admiration.
To be fair, the little Taoist felt quite impressed.
If Little White's skill in training her subordinates were to be displayed in his hometown's neighborhood, she would likely be a canine Immortal.
"Achoo, not bad, they look much more orderly and impressive than Big Black and the others," Yu Yaoer said, sniffling and answering after Jin Xu had finished praising.
"Of course, Big Black and the others have only been training for a short time; the youngest of these little guys has been training for over thirty years," Little White replied with pride in her voice, then transformed back into her human shape.
Afterward, she strode to the front of the intermediate-sized Husky formation and began introducing the identities of the two little Taoists to her subordinates.
A few dozen breaths later,
the hundred or so oversized Huskies in front of them had all accepted the fact that their boss suddenly had a new boss.
And Jin Xu also learned that although these hundred or so Huskies looked quite large, they were actually mostly in their adolescent phase within the Snow Wolf Clan, and fewer than the number of fingers on two hands could transform into human form.
"Little White, important matters come first. We can reminisce once the Demon Realm returns to the Nine Provinces. Let's go meet your father first, so he can help us introduce the representative of the small world's Origin," Jin Xu said gently, reminding her of the purpose of their visit after the Huskies and his own subordinates had a lively howling session.
"Temple master, I just asked, and they said my father isn't in the clan right now. He's taken most of the clan members to that meeting above," Little White said, pointing at the bald mountain peak towering into the clouds behind them.
Hearing this, Jin Xu followed her delicate finger and looked towards West Pole Peak.
Then he heard Little White continue,
"They say my father probably won't be back until this evening. However, my Sixth Uncle is here in this temporary clan site. Shall we go see him first?"
"Sixth Uncle? Isn't he close to ten feet tall with a scar over his left eye and missing two fingers on his right hand?"
"Eh, temple master, how do you know?"
Surprise instantly covered Little White's face.
"Cough, of course, it's because I saw it."
Jin Xu said, raising his chin and gesturing toward the back of the Husky.
At this moment, inside the towering gate built of ice,
several brawny men with bare upper bodies, wearing leather pants, walked out. The one leading them had a long scar over his left eye and was missing two fingers on his right hand.
Though these men had human bodies, their presence made one feel as if they were encountering some kind of fierce beast.
They strode toward the group of Taoists. The large Huskies that were huddled in front of everyone, in turn, cleared a path for them.
"Sixth Uncle!"
Little White shouted joyfully, dashing toward the one-eyed brawny man in the lead.
However, just as she closed in, within half a foot of him, the one-eyed man suddenly raised his arm without expression, and sent a heavy punch towards Little White's face.
"Bang!"
The sudden punch was caught by Little White with both hands in front of her face, but she was still sent sliding back thirty feet, leaving two deep marks on the ground.
"Heh, not bad, your vigilance hasn't diminished in the months you've been away from the clan."
Seeing Little White catch the punch, the one-eyed man's stern expression suddenly changed, and he laughed, opening his arms and approaching the Husky again.
"I knew you would do something like this, Sixth Uncle, hss."
As Little White spoke, she shook her slightly numb arms and couldn't help but inhale sharply.
Meanwhile, the one-eyed man, with open arms, took big steps until he stood right in front of her.
"Hahaha, only Zhongfei really gets your Sixth Uncle. Didn't your father send you to the Nine Provinces Realm? How did you come back so soon..."
The brawny man was still speaking,
when Little White, with a pained expression and shaking arms, suddenly sprang from the ground and swept a kick at his temple.
"Clang!"
After the sound of metal striking metal, Little White landed on the ground, holding her shin and grimacing in pain.
"Hss, Sixth Uncle, your neck is still so stiff!"
After taking the kick, the one-eyed man's smile grew even brighter, stretching the scar above his left eye slightly.
"Hahaha, your strength has increased quite a bit since before, it seems Zhongfei has gained a lot in the Nine Provinces these past months."
As he spoke, he brought his hands together as if to hug Little White, but she niftily dodged and moved aside.
"Alright, Sixth Uncle, let's put off your testing for now. I've come back this time for a serious matter."
The Husky moved next to Jin Xu, adopting a serious tone she had learned from who knows where, and earnestly said to the one-eyed man.
"Hahahahaha, alright, alright, we'll do as you say. But before you talk about this serious matter, shouldn't you introduce these two guests to your Sixth Uncle?"
The one-eyed man glanced affectionately at Little White as if proud of a child growing up, then shifted his attention back to Jin Xu and Yu Yaoer.
"This is Sister Little Yu, and this is the temple master."
Little White gestured towards the two.
In Jin Xu's eyes, this introduction seemed to say something and yet nothing at all. But unexpectedly, the one-eyed brawny man nodded, as though he understood, and then said,
"Alright, Sixth Uncle understands. Now tell me, what's this serious matter you've come back for?"
Upon hearing this, Little White quickly began to explain the purpose of their journey to him.
