Void Cultivation

Chapter 116- Ancient Flying Sword!

"Over the past two months, I've received information from Ange and the others about the Ongoing war between Sky Mist City and the Devil's race. Zaybe says that the war has waged on for over two months, and doesn't seem to be ending anytime soon. If we can get out of the Beserk Sea in time, we can still meet up with the war and claim some benefits for ourselves. Although my level is not too high, I've already advanced from the Seventh level to the eighth level, and I feel like I'm very close to the ninth level. Maybe this war could be the event that'll help me push my potential to the maximum and help me break through the barrier between the Ninth level and the Eighth level."Grey said in a low voice.

'First, I need to start uncovering the mysterious surrounding around myself and the purple crystal. Where did it come from? How come it fell very close to my location after I transmigrated? Why did the sentient Soul Weapon choose to attack me first instead of going for Bao?' These were all good questions that he needed to take his time to ponder about. But Grey just realized that he didn't have that time with him anymore.

He had overlooked some certain things and the mysteries surrounding himself and the purple crystal for too long. He could not keep allowing these coincidences to keep happening time and time again.

By now, he had spent close to a year in this world, all hopes of him even returning back to earn had long vanished. He could only make a life for himself her in this world.

And funny enough, it was just now he was realizing that.

'Maybe that's why my cultivation is very slow.' Grey thought to himself in silence. The image of a network of purple lines that appeared on his body suddenly came to his mind.

But just as he was in thought, he heard the sound of wind being sliced through and air being torn apart.

Grey and Captain looked towards the source of the loud noise and saw a magnificent scene. Flying several thousands of meters above them was a huge sword, of over one thousand meters.

The sword was colored blue and gave them the illusion that it was real and ethereal at the same time. But Grey quickly realized why he thought so.

It was actually because the speed of the flying sword was so fast, that the air being whipped around it was making it's form take on an illusory shape.Making it look ethereal.

But Grey noticed that was not the only reason. The Flying sword was also vibrating at such a fast pace that the air around it and under it created a huge pressure that pressed over everything.

The flying sword was seemingly shot out of the void and was sent flying several thousands of meters into the distance. And although all this seemed to have taken a long time, but it was only a blink of eye was all it took for the Flying sword to completely leave their sights.

The surrounding black and murky waters seemed to have turned chaotic and imbalanced at the passing flying sword. Several powerful sea creatures suddenly released their auras instinctively, as if going up against strong spirit creatures and wanting to warm them, only to find that the cause of their wariness had disappeared far away.

"That's the Ancient Sword Artifact from the Mystic Sword sect. And their flying towards Sky Mist City!" The captain had arrived beside him at some point and said in a very low voice. So low that Grey wondered if she was afraid of being heard by the Ancient Flying sword.

"Ancient Sword Artifact?" Grey raised his eyebrows at the Captain's words. As the captain heard him, her expression was no longer dull, but filled with tension. She spoke tersely.

"The Mystic Sword sect is a sect that is as old as Sky Mist City. It was also built by an emperor, known as the Sword Emperor!" The captain paused and looked at Grey, as if confirming if she should continue.

'Sword Emperor? Wasn't he one of the Nine subordinate emperors under the Human Emperor? So he also built a sect...' Grey nodded as to let the captain know that she should continue. After seeing his confirmation, the captain continued.

"After the Sword Emperor built the Mystic Sword sect, he gave them several mystic artifacts and cultivation techniques before went to fight in the war against the Divine existences that came after God's descent-" The captain paused as if recalling something. Her face then srunched up in a frown, but she continues anyways.

"Anyways, that Flying sword was one of the Mysterious Artifacts left behind by the Sword Emperor to protect the Mystic Sword sect. It's true might has never been shown and is most of the times used to dominate and warn their enemies. No one has ever seen it being used before in battle. Well, that was after the Burning Era of humanity." The captain continued.

"Now that it's flying at such a speed towards Sky Mist City, I fear that something new has developed that pushed the Mystic Sword sect to take their Mystic Sword Artifact." After hearing the captain explain, Grey was silent for several seconds, seconds that weighed down heavily agints them, producing a faint tension in the air.

"Does Sky Mist City also have an Artifact left behind by the Ghost Emperor?" Grey's sudden question took the captain by surprise. But she answered anyways.

"Yes, Sky Mist does have their own Magic Artifact, but it's not at the level of the Ancient Flying sword!" Grey then kept quiet, as if reasoning something.

"Then I don't think we need to worry that much about Sky Mist City. The Mystic Sword Sect must have come for a different reason then. A reason so important that they had to use their Ancient Flying sword which was passed down by the Sword Emperor."

***

In Sky Mist City,

There was a deafening bang and the sky and Void was suddenly torn open by an Ancient Blue Flying Sword, that was over one hundred meters long.

It's entire body was humming and buzzing and the air around it suddenly got tighter and the pressure made everyone present feel a suffocating Sword presence that mde them conscious of sword.

The sword presence made them all feel like a sword was hanging by their throats. The Ancient Blue Flying Sword had appeared some meters away from the Sky Mist City barrier, but the sword presence it carries around was enough to make everyone feel at unease.

A lone figure then drifted out from the top of Sky Mist City's barrier as if she had been waiting for it. Her entire person was clothed in our white cloth that slowly fluttered as if she was a specter, or a wraith. Her skin we're ghastly pale, and her eyes were a pale shade of gloom and deatchedness.

If Grey were here, he would be surprised. Or maybe not, because this lady was the ghostly like lady that had observed his features while he was busy preparing for the Forging exam.

A figure was also seen alighting from the Ancient Blue Flying Sword. He wore blue clothes and his expression was sharp, like the blade if a sword.

Actually, it was not only his expression that was sharp, but his entire person too. He looked and felt like someone that had trained with the sword for all his life so much that his entire presence was that of an open sword. He looked to be one with the sword.

Along with that, his entire body strong energy fluctuations that greatly surpassed the Nascent Soul Transformation realm. His entire body seemed to be housing sparks of life and death which the ghost like figure in white did not emanate.

As the two figures flew close to one another, the ghost like lady could finally see the facial features of the man.

His eyebrows were sharp. His eyes were as clear as a calm blue lake, but they emitted a cold sword intent that could stop all life. His hair was slightly long and could reach the back of his shoulders, but they were tied up neatly in a small bun behind his head.

From his face, he looked to be someone young but this seemingly young man was over one hundred years old.

There was a scabbard by his waist and inside it was a blue sword. When the two people were finally close enough, the young man tried to smile warmly, but with his somewhat tense expression and strict behavior, he looked awkward instead.

"Orphis, you are still as frightenely beautiful as a wraith aren't you." The young man said but the wraith like lady did not bother to hear him, neither did she change her expression to one of pleasantries. She answered quite bluntly.

"What do you want Edgard? You have brought your Ancient Sword Artifact here and have frightened my people. You better have a good reason for doing so!" The wraithlike lady said in a deadpan voice, but her expression was serious.

Despite not emitting energy fluctuations that surpassed the Nascent Soul Transformation realm, the young man with blue eyes did not dare to be wary. Instead, he rubbed the tip of his nose and said in a serious manner.

"Fine then, I'll cut to the chase. God's hand has struck a Forbidden Zone, and has turned it into a Divine Zone!"
