Chapter 17: Chapter 17
It was a bright morning the sun was out, people were bustling about heading to their place of work. And in a particular bar, young Pollux could be seen working, it seemed like his job was to clean the tables before customers come in and after they leave. He absolutely loved this job because it was the perfect place for him to gather a lot of information.
'Hey, that other table is free now', a young girl with ragged clothes said as it was the norms for people working there to dress in rags. She had brown eyes, she was a head shorter than him, she was also a real beauty but if only he could be bothered to look, the only thing he remembered was her name which was Tiana.
Pollux looked in front of him and saw a free table, it seemed like the people on it had just left. Among the men sitting here previously there was a man he had started to take note of, his name was Churchill, it seemed he knew something about the summoning that was about to take place.
He could still remember the conversation he heard yesterday while he was working,
'Do you think the lord is going to be angry?' Asked a man who was dressed in black and had a scar on his right eye.
'We tried our best, but finding the body wasn't as easy as we thought it would be, there was almost no one who could withstand the lord's power'. This was another man at the table but this one was dressed like a warrior or something, it was hard to tell.
'The lord is so great, I really cannot wait for him to descend on our world and grant us power to rule this world'.
'Hahahahaha'.
It was not out of place to see more than four men sitting at a table and laughing, in a bar like this men of all kinds would come in everyday to get drunk and chat with their friends, so this kind of thing was a normal sight and wouldn't make them stand out, which was what the plan they had when they came in.
But unfortunately for them, Pollux was able to spot them and when Cosmos asked him how he was able to spot them he said.
'One of them stared at me for too long so I guessed it was them'
'Pretty good right?'
Now for the past one week he has been following this Churchill home and listening in on his conversations anytime he's at the bar.
Churchill was the leader of the village guard and it seemed he got paid decently because he had better clothes than the others.
But somehow Pollux was never able to locate where he went to after he left the bar, he was always giving Pollux the slip.
So today he had made up his mind that he was not going to let the man pass him again, because according to Cosmos there was no much time left for them if they still wanted to spoil the plans of the summoning.
'Tiana, I'll be heading home early today, cover my shift for me'. With that he left, not even bothering to see if she would reply.
But what Pollux would see when he stepped out was not something he prepared for.
