Virtual Reality: Fighting with avatars in another world

Chapter 8: Absurd Plan

With a speed faster than the speed of light, he arrived at his destination. Adir observed many bodies.

The beasts lying on the ground, flooded all his sight, Adir knew with a glance, that they were demons, there were a lot of demons scattered on the road, as well as bodies of angels broken in half, and half eaten. He did not stay long watching this scene.

He slowly descended from the sky and approached the gods that were in sight. Some had slight wounds, others were missing limbs, the atmosphere around them was grim.

All the gods saw Adir slowly descend to the ground. The god Anu, who stood around them, watched him.

Walking towards the crowd, Adir walked straight towards Anu, all the gods gave way to him. The atmosphere was bad, no one was smiling, with serious looks, some whispered where Adir was when he was most needed, Adir did not hear them, his face was dark, he felt guilt for not being at the time of the invasion.

-Adir, long time no see, and it seems that your power has grown again, you surprise me more and more, boy. - Anu wanted to lighten the mood with his greeting. It did not work, all the gods looked at him with hatred.

He did not know what to say to Anu, the words did not come out of his mouth, Adir was silent.

From the crowd, Thorin, one of the twins came quickly towards Adir, his steps were hurried, with a noticeable agitation, he shouted to him

-Where were you when we were fighting the monsters? where were you! - For the first time, Adir heard Thorin's angry shout - because of you, my sister, my sister a...!

Thorin's screams were heartbreaking for Adir, he didn't understand why the anger was directed at him. It didn't last long, the confusion was only momentary, Adir tried to find Aria's whereabouts.

Adir looked for Aria, Thorin's twin sister, clenching his fists, Adir was silent, he was really angry.

Aria was always like a little sister to Adir, her childish behavior and mischief only reinforced his idea, and not feeling Aria's presence... something inside Adir snapped.

The moments he spent with the twins were unique, Aria, with her dazzling smile, always gave him a warm feeling, in this world, Adir felt he was truly at home.

Adir held back the urge to cry, he didn't want to see Thorin's eyes, he felt it was his fault for not being present.

Thorin lunged at Adir, punching him in the face, he didn't move to the side, Adir took it. If taking a punch could bring Aria to life, he was willing to take as many as it took.

Throwing him to the ground, Thorin climbed on top of Adir and kept punching him, with quick punches in succession.

Thorin kept punching him in the face, until he had had enough. His watery eyes fell like raindrops on Adir's face.

-Why weren't you there... even in her last moments, Aria was waiting for you to save her... - Thorin no longer had the courage to continue, with teary eyes, he walked away from Adir.

With his face full of bruises, Adir stood up and continued walking, he had no right to ask Thorin for forgiveness, he felt devastated.

Anu watched as Adir slowly approached him, he waited quietly, until he was in front of him.

-Adir, don't blame yourself for everything that happened, it's not your fault that these beings appeared. You know... these winged creatures are actually creations of the first brother, I don't know what happened for them to be fighting with these horrible beasts... but that doesn't mean that you should torment yourself for everything.

Adir was no longer listening to Anu, he felt a terrible guilt for everything.

-You're wrong, Anu, I'm to blame for everything, if only I was there back then... I... I could have stopped those who killed Aria! I could have stopped the unnecessary deaths!

Guilt gnawed at him, Adir had lost his temper.

All the gods around, were silent, many lost their friends, others their partners, and others their families, no one dared to speak, the atmosphere was dark.

Anu did not try to refute it, with anger invading his mind, he thought it was better to give him the reason, he did not have enough strength to continue denying it.

He did not want to waste any more time. Anu, with the little strength he had, spoke.

-Cof cof cof cof, Adir, boy, come here, I have something to give you, this is what I recovered from the battle with those beasts. - Anu, from his tattered clothes, took out some spheres the size of a baseball.

-These are the concepts of the gods that we recovered from the fallen in battle, take them, I know that in your hands they will be worth more than in the hands of a dying old man.

Adir did not know what to say, he looked at the spheres in Anu's hands, he did not want to receive anything without giving something in return, but he could not do it.

Looking at the spheres, Adir extended his hands.

He received the spheres from Anu and looked at the concepts, he saw some familiar ones, like that of Ymir, Solara, Athos and... Aria.

Adir absorbed the spheres. When he did so, Adir sensed a significant increase of power in his body, the earth and sky fragmented momentarily, as if it could not withstand Adir's power.

The world rumbled, all the gods present and those scattered throughout the continent became aware of the birth of a new supreme god. With a serene tranquility, he walked.

He absorbed all concepts, with the exception of Aria.

Adir walked to Thorin and handed him over, he could not adsorb what was left of Aria, he felt guilty.

It was better for the brother to have the only thing left of her, than for him to have her and absorb it.

With the integration of the concepts, Adir noticed that the power in his whole body, had increased again, he was sure it was now of supreme level.

Looking at Anu, Adir felt responsible, he could do nothing but watch Anu's agonizing death, he was dying. He needed a power higher than supreme level if he wanted to heal Anu, he had no other choice.

But Anu himself created the categories, Adir has no idea how to increase his power beyond the supreme level.

He looked away from Anu, and looked towards the horizon, he could see those demons that mortally wounded Anu, Adir was sure that they left him half dead to suffer.

Every minute that passed, Adir became more enraged, but he was a god who thinks before acting, he calmed his anger and tried to think of an idea of how to finish them.

He could not go to where all the demons were and face them, there were still many remnants all over the planet, and there were gods scattered all over the planet fighting them too... not to mention the angels, although they were no match for the gods.

Adir was much angrier about the first brother, he doesn't know what happened on his side, but one thing he was sure of, this trouble came from him.

He had many plans in mind for the counterattack, but in all of them, many of his people died.

If he wanted to win, Adir had to have the same amount as the demons on his side. He had to.

Bitterness, this is what Adir felt, he devised many plans, but in all of them he did not see one that he could call victory. He lacked a good estimate of the abilities of those who wounded Anu, he gave it a lot of thought. Minutes passed, and Adir had an enlightenment.

He had come up with an idea, but it was too radical, but with no other options available, he accepted it. Without further thought, he called all the gods to his vicinity.

.......

It was a while before they all gathered, Adir was waiting, patience was gone along with Aria when she died, he hurried all the gods to come quickly.

After a few hours, all the gods for miles around, were gathered at this point, along with Adir, there were also his 14 children.

He didn't see Kairos anywhere, he guessed he was fighting with the demons and angels elsewhere, Adir didn't bother about it.

Adir clapped his hands once, causing everyone present to fall silent, he looked at all the gods and spoke.

-You may wonder why I have gathered you all at this point, I will tell you, we cannot win this war - his words were like cold water, all the gods were making an uproar, some were afraid, others were hysterical, Adir silenced them again.

-But if we create life... we can turn the tables - Adir paused, so that everyone would understand what he had just said.

Not all gods can create life out of nothing, this privilege was only reserved for gods of high rank and with the right concept. They understood what Adir was referring to.

Still, not all high-ranking gods could create life. A god's traits were reflected toward his creation. Torkel, who has the traits of a dwarf, could create life, yet there were other dwarf gods like Torkel who could not do what he does.

This was with almost all gods. Adir was aware with this problem, he knew that god who could create life, would have a very difficult time. He proposed an idea, all the gods with the same traits would help in the creation, so that the burden would decrease, they all accepted, they had no objections, I leave for one, doubt.

They were doubtful, doubtful what a lower life could do against the demons, if they themselves suffered catastrophic losses.

-We need numbers, if we make the creatures created by you fight, we can concentrate our attack on those beings of supreme rank.

The gods understood his plan, some were skeptical and others were sure.

Adir did not give it a second thought, he ordered the gods to create intelligent life and prepare for the counterattack.

He was also thinking of creating life, some concepts given by Anu, had the gift of creating life, he did not need the help of others, because he already mastered the concept itself.

His resolve was firm, he was not going to back down from his idea. He was sure that once they won the war, they would have to leave this earthly plane, the mortals would occupy these lands, he was a little sad, but it was a sacrifice he had to make if he wanted to kill the supreme demons.

He thought about the planet earth, which was a peaceful world, without external threats, he wanted to get to that point.

Thinking of planet earth gave him another idea.

His idea was crazy, what if I bring humans from planet earth, to the lands of the gods? He wanted to try, Adir was going to try bringing humans from planet earth, here.

His spirits improved, he moved again towards the cave, this time he asked his children to accompany him, and to take care of him while he meditated, his children obeyed him without problems.

Adir was sure, sure that, if his plan worked, the war would be won.
