Chapter 182: Introductions
The silence wasn't very awkward, if anything, after Dario and the team got to know who ther are and everything, they had comparitively calmed down and strated to compose the reserved and noble auro about themselves.
I had forgotten that although these people were kids, they were after all royals, and had honed their personalities to the best of their abilities.
The dumb personality of Dario around us had shockingly become a little more tame and to think I would see the day he would be able to keep quiet for more than 2 minutes.
As for Erza, even though she was wearing a suit of armour, which was almost her daily apparel, she seemed more respectful and feminine.
Had I not come to be able to control my emotions...as well as my actions like before the God's descended, I'm sure I'd had reacted differently to King Philips arrival-
I adjusted the cuff of my turtleneck slowly, more to keep my fingers moving than anything else.
Across from me, Erza sat upright, back straight, her posture more arched than usual; it was almost like her body hadn't been drilled into a military-level poise drilled into her since birth.
Even Seraphina, usually cold and calm, kept her hands folded across her lap, eyes half-closed but focused.
Because we all knew what had just happened.
King Philip had recognised something.
In me.
In us.
And even if he hadn't said it aloud, the underlying message was clear—we weren't just "Team A."
We were descendants of the Romero clan, thus making us atleast on par if not below King jade in status.
If anything, it could also be speculated that we were above them since the man in front of us had been ousted from his seat by a coup while our clan still controls this country.
The only reason we even acted such was that old man Venus hadn't informed us beforehand of the arrival of the Jade Kingdom or else we would have been more prepared to handle this situation-
No one wanted to be the first to speak and break whatever focus King Philip was giving to the view outside the balcony, until Venus walked in.
And the room finally breathed again.
He didn't need to say anything. He simply entered, and it was as if the walls remembered who they belonged to.
The man cast a long glance around the room, eyes briefly landing on each of us.
When they reached me, they lingered for a second too long, then moved on.
"I take it the room survived," he said, voice low and rich, every word measured.
Erza gave a subtle nod. "Barely."
"Good," he said simply, then turned to observe the interior. "This place always did have good acoustics for dramatic entrances. Fitting for old gods and older ghosts..."
"The only old ghost here is you—" A voice came from behind us as we faced Venus.
Everyone couldn't understand how King Philip could be so casual about it.
Then again, no one other than Noah knew that these two kings were pretty close.
Memories started to flash inside his brain like a slow movie as pictures of King Philip and Sia reeled inside his mind.
'Back then...' Noah thought, 'whenever he came ro make a visit to father, both him and dad would listen to the teachings of grandpa while I was stuck with the bubbly girl whom I could never handle.
Just looking at Sia's back, he still couldn't believe how that morning sunshine had changed into this black cat-
Venus set his robes aside, a black bodyfit covering his figure, as he lowered himself into one of the velvet-lined chairs in the room. "But let's not waste this breath of calm. The night is far from over." He said.
There was a moment of pause.
Then Aurelia stood, he low neck top revealing more than what was intended as her slim fit jeans seemed to stretch.
The girl was the real definition of graceful, composed and polished to the bone.
Just at the lot here, Noah couldn't believe he gave the stupid nobles back where he lived with his grandpa such weightage.
Even to the current him, all of them could no longer combat him, neither in terms of strength...or looks.
Aurelia's loose crimson top and fitted jeans hugged her figure perfectly, but her presence wasn't about beauty—it was about power. The kind of power that could silence an entire room or reignite it with a single smile.
She took a step forward, her expression effortlessly diplomatic.
"Grandfather," she began, her voice like velvet on steel, "I believe formal introductions are overdue."
Venus raised an eyebrow, amused. "Are they now?"
She turned to us, gesturing elegantly to each of us in turn.
Then, the girl bowed in front of King Philip and Sia's figure again as the duo turned to them.
"I'm Aurelia D. Romero, daughter to Lord Cassian." Her voice was soft, but clear and confident.
She smiled politely at King Philip and Sia, then turned slightly to gesture to the others standing beside her.
"This is Seraphina D. Romero," she said, nodding towards the blue-haired girl, "daughter of Lady Marianne Romero."
Seraphina gave a slight bow, her hands still neatly folded in front of her. Her expression didn't change much, but there was a quiet charm in her presence now.
Aurelia moved on. "And that's Erza D. Romero, daughter of Lord Crixus Romero."
Erza gave a small nod, her armour making a light clink as she moved.
Her expression was respectful but still had that spark of battle-hardened pride in her eyes.
"And finally," Aurelia said with a knowing look, "Dario, son of the late uncle Samuel."
Dario scratched the back of his neck, trying not to grin. "Hey," he said, then quickly straightened up when Aurelia shot him a sharp look.
"I mean—it's an honour to meet you, Your Majesty."
