Versatile Sword Cultivator

Chapter 393 – Open an inn

Finally back home, everyone was safe and sound.

The food on the table had gone cold, so Gu Qiuxue reheated it and even cooked two more dishes, perhaps to celebrate their safety.

Qin Xiaowei was also there, having taken the day off from work.

They had a peaceful lunch and chatted for a while before Qin Xiaowei took Tang Tang home.

Lin Jichen, however, couldn't wait to get back into the game. He had played all day yesterday and had been delayed for most of today. Knowing how precious time was, he quickly dove back into the game.

Leaving the inn in Fengqu City, Lin Jichen first headed to his shop.

Unexpectedly, he ran into Wang Jinghao and his entourage.

The moment Wang Jinghao saw Lin Jichen, his body visibly trembled, and he froze in place, staring at him in disbelief.

Lin Jichen also stopped, a flash of murderous intent in his eyes.

"Well, if it isn't my good brother Wang. What a coincidence," Lin Jichen said mockingly.

Wang Jinghao snapped out of his shock, forcing a stiff smile. "It is quite a coincidence. I thought I'd never see you again, Brother Lin."

"Yeah, I thought so too. But it seems my fate wasn't sealed. Who would have thought my heart is on the right side?"

Lin Jichen stared into his eyes, smiling smugly.

Wang Jinghao's gaze faltered, quickly masking his unease.

"I don't know what you're talking about, Brother Lin. Heart on the right side? I don't get it."

Lin Jichen chuckled. "If you don't get it, never mind. Anyway, I'm lucky to be alive. Heaven gave me another chance, just so I could come back for revenge. Wang, you better watch out for your Eternal Guild. I've been in a bad mood lately, and I might just kill someone. If I accidentally harm your men or you, don't blame me. It'd be like a flood washing over the Dragon King's temple."

Wang Jinghao's expression darkened, and he sneered. "You barely escaped death and still dare to be so arrogant. Aren't you afraid of dying?"

Lin Jichen shrugged. "Doesn't matter. I've already died once. Besides, I might not be much in reality, but in the game, no one can stop me if I want to make a move."

Wang Jinghao's face turned completely cold, his voice low and hoarse. "Then let's see who laughs last."

"Let's wait and see."

Lin Jichen left these words behind and walked away leisurely.

Wang Jinghao's face turned black. "I'm logging off for a bit. You guys carry on."

With that, Wang Jinghao logged off, leaving Xing Sen and the others confused.

In a top-notch villa in the Capital City, Wang Jinghao dialed a number.

As soon as the call connected, he started cursing. "What the hell are you guys doing? Why wasn't he dealt with? And you call yourselves world-class assassins? What a disgrace!"

The other party didn't dare to retort, admitting fault. "I didn't expect his heart to be on the right side. It was my mistake. I'll refund you half the commission."

"I don't need the commission! I want him dead! Do you understand? Don't mess with me, or the consequences will be severe!"

The other party seemed to lose patience and questioned, "Did you mess with us? You said he was just an ordinary person. Why did the entire city's police start searching as soon as something happened? They almost turned the place upside down. If our assassin hadn't escaped quickly, he'd be caught by now."

"I don't care about that. You need to act immediately and eliminate him completely!" Wang Jinghao ordered.

"Impossible. The situation is too tense now. He's heavily protected. Killing him is a hundred times harder than before."

"I'll pay more. Triple the amount."

"No."

"Five times."

"This..."

"Ten times!"

"Alright, but not now. We have to wait until things calm down. If you don't agree, find someone else."

Wang Jinghao hung up, gritting his teeth. He never expected Lin Jichen to survive.

Thinking about Lin Jichen's smug face earlier, he felt a surge of anger.

If he didn't get rid of him, his Eternal Guild would be in big trouble.

After inspecting his shops, Lin Jichen went to the pharmacy and checked on Zhao Baige.

"Boss, you're here! Look at the new elixir I made. It's a Spirit Grade elixir."

Zhao Baige couldn't help but proudly show off to Lin Jichen as soon as he arrived.

Having reached the Crystal Realm, Zhao Baige didn't have to worry about her realm for now.

Moreover, her alchemy skills had improved rapidly. This sweet but naive girl seemed to have had a breakthrough and had already become a third-grade Alchemy Master.

Her speed had caught up with most alchemists, and her success rate was even higher.

Lin Jichen believed that soon, his pharmacy would have a true Elixir King.

"Well done. Here's a formula for you."

Lin Jichen handed Zhao Baige a Mysterious Grade formula for a Poison Purification Elixir he had obtained earlier.

"When you reach the fifth grade, start making the elixirs from this formula."

Zhao Baige took it with delight. For an alchemist, formulas were as coveted as weapons were for artifact cultivators.

Learning an exclusive formula could significantly boost an alchemist's grade and provide more alchemy experience.

Formulas were usually treasures, hard to come by even with a fortune.

Yet Lin Jichen casually gave her one.

Despite there being many higher-grade alchemists in the pharmacy, he gave it to her.

This made Zhao Baige overjoyed and even more loyal to Lin Jichen.

After encouraging Zhao Baige a bit, Lin Jichen left the pharmacy.

After collecting the earnings from his shops, his Spirit Stone reserves had reached over seven million.

He firmly held the top spot on the wealth leaderboard, unchallenged.

Lin Jichen planned to buy two more shops.

But before that, he had three shops that weren't operational yet.

Leaving them empty was a waste of money.

After leaving the inn earlier, he had thought of opening a new shop.

[Shop: Fuqiang Grand Inn]

[Owner: Lin Jichen]

[Type: Inn]

[Staff: None]

[Occupancy: 0]

[Profit: 0]

Lin Jichen opened an inn.

He hadn't considered opening an inn before. But now, he had too many shops already, and leaving them empty was a waste.

Although inns weren't highly profitable, they were stable.

Inns provided places for players to log off, bathe, heal, and meditate.

With so many functions, there was no worry about a lack of customers.

With so many players in Fengqu City, there were only two options for logging off: teleporting back to their sect's quarters or staying at an inn.

Or a third option, finding a completely safe and undisturbed place.

Few chose the first option due to the cost of teleportation and city entry fees.

The third option was even harder, as such places were difficult to find and risky. If someone saw you meditating outside, they might kill and rob you.

Thus, inns became the preferred choice for most players to log off.
