Versatile Mage: Starting with the White Tiger Pendant

Chapter 338: The Amazon Descends, The Day of Destruction

Buzz—buzz—buzz!

Lu Jun was in a daze, feeling the bursts of mysterious space-time fluctuations coming from ahead. Within his spiritual world, a dim-silver Space-Time Element star river was resonating in response.

It was as if, by reaching out his hand, he could touch that Eye of Space-Time.

In truth, it was an illusion—the Divine Eye carried its own protective force field, one that even Super Tier or Forbidden Curse could not approach. In the void, a layer of visible twisted haziness appeared.

Coming back to his senses, he looked down from the mountaintop. Below was an endless plain, where tens of thousands of mage legions stood in neat formations, silent yet murderous, their presence carrying the aura of an army in a desperate battle.

Along the mountain path, the elders and priests from all the major institutes of the Elder Council were present.

Lu Jun spotted many familiar faces—the nameless young mage he had casually grabbed to question earlier, his own little maid Lala Putana,Gunnar, and others.

Everyone was craning their necks, eager to see him turn the tide.

For a moment, Lu Jun's heart grew heavy. He murmured to himself, "Where is this place?"

Beside him, Elder Mina spoke with a long tone: "The territory of the Incan people, not far from the Holy Land. The Nazca Plan is set to be implemented here, using the Spirit Carving Technique to permanently imprint the Infinite Summoning Prohibition."

Hearing this, Lu Jun understood. In the future timeline, Nazca and Space-Time Town were indeed a certain distance apart.

He shook his head and whispered, "I didn't expect that stone-carved Beast Tide Gate to have this kind of teleportation function."

"It's not worth mentioning," Mina dismissed lightly. Then, with a solemn gaze fixed on Lu Jun, he said gravely, "Priest Lu Jun, are you ready?"

Lu Jun looked toward the Eye of Space-Time floating at the center of the altar not far away. Beneath it stood a grand and imposing throne.

Next, he was to sit upon the stone seat, connect to the infinitely powerful Eye of Space-Time, and convert that energy into a peaceful, usable form to transmit below.

The priests along the path were fully prepared, the magic arrays they set up serving, in a sense, as "transport pipelines."

"Damn it, why does this feel like Warhammer's Emperor, sitting on the Golden Throne?"

Lu Jun muttered inwardly, but he was thoroughly familiar with the plan. Since he had made up his mind, he could not be bothered with more words and stepped straight into the space-time magnetic field without looking back.

Seeing this, Mina felt gratified.

Sss—sss—sss!

At that moment, Lu Jun suddenly felt a terrifying power of time descend upon him, constantly eroding his body and will.

Fortunately, at the critical moment, the Space-Time Element star river in his mind shone, actively releasing a layer of dim light to envelop him, barely resisting the influence.

Step by step, Lu Jun advanced under the pressure and smoothly arrived before the Divine Eye of Space-Time.

Observing the gigantic pupil up close, he felt all the more insignificant, like an ant. Just as he was about to reach out to touch it, suddenly, a great change occurred in heaven and earth.

Boom—rumble—rumble!

The sky abruptly darkened, the mountains and earth shook violently, and from the far horizon came an earth-shattering roar.

Startled, Lu Jun looked toward it—and saw a shocking black line appear at the edge of the world. In the blink of an eye, it swallowed the heavens and the earth. A black, oppressive beast tide surged forth, flooding everything, sweeping toward them like a tidal wave.

On the ground, endless monsters—tigers, crocodiles, deer, all manner of strange forms—swarmed. In the skies, countless poisonous insects in dazzling colors filled the air. They were greedy, violent, with only slaughter and conquest in their very bones.

Not just servants, but even warriors and commanders were mixed among them, though their presence was entirely overshadowed.

Only the towering monarchs stood out, each step they took shaking heaven and earth with a thundering dong—dong, their massive footprints leaving countless giant craters, their might towering as if to rend mountains.

There were two to three hundred of such giants at a glance, striding forth from afar, like an ancient tribe of gods and demons approaching. The sight was overwhelming, a dreamlike return to the primordial age, with a savage, untamed aura pouring forth.

And behind them, pressing in formation, were vast swathes of endless, sky-darkening black clouds—an apocalyptic scene.

It was the coming of emperors, carried by millions of servant beasts, with hundreds of monarchs pulling chariots into battle, the scene grand and majestic, surging forward with the force of mountains and seas, trampling the mountain ranges in arrogance.

The imperial demon aura, even from hundreds of thousands of li away, rose to the heavens like a pillar connecting sky and earth, raging across the world, sweeping away ten thousand miles of clouds, letting fall only the will of supreme majesty.

The mages on the mountain's slopes and peak found their breathing halted, suppressed from afar by the supreme aura.

But even this was nothing compared to what came next—everyone's hearts trembled at the sight before them.

The Amazon Empire has descended?!! The Andes Mountain defense line has been breached?!!

Lu Jun became bewildered and quickly looked at Elder Mina.

The old man's face was pale, his frail body swaying weakly in the wind as if about to collapse. He said in a low voice, "That's right, this morning, more than a dozen Forbidden Curse Lords all perished. The Amazon Empire has come to kill."

Tens of thousands were silent, anxiety and dread filling their hearts. In Inca, only the people here still had the ability to organize resistance.

But what use was that? At most, there were one or two Forbidden Curse wielders present, not even enough to fill the gap between an Emperor's teeth.

Meanwhile, within just a few breaths, the Amazon Empire's horde of monsters in the distance closed in at unbelievable speed.

One must know, this was an army of hundreds of millions of enslaved creatures running across the land, unlike the future Sea Demon Empire which could ride the currents like express lines to exceed their own swimming speed.

Very soon, Lu Jun saw the ground's soil layers surging wildly like rolling ocean waves, carrying the mighty beast tide forward. The principle was similar to the elementary earth-element magic Earth Wave, though this was infinitely grander.

"So that's it — there's an earth-element Emperor using a great monster spell to transport troops."

He understood now, but no one could stop it.

Lu Jun closed his eyes for a moment. When he opened them again, the world before him was pitch-black. The beast tide had engulfed this region, the crimson scent of blood and the oppressive monster energy blotting out the sky.

Puchi! Puchi! One after another, mage soldiers fell — their throats slit, hearts pierced, or legs torn off.

In the end, once they fell, they vanished completely into the black tide, their flesh ripped to pieces, bones and blood devoured until nothing remained, save for the fleeting, blossoming blood flowers that proved they had once walked this world.

Buzz! Buzz! Buzz! Lu Jun's ears were filled with the deafening hum of poisonous insects' beating wings. He witnessed an Emperor striding arrogantly onto the sacred mountain.

Ah — it was the long-heard-of Insect Emperor, the Six-Eyed Evil Insect. It was small and exquisite, only about one zhang in size, like a miniature true dragon. Its black dragon scales covered its body, and its dragon head bore six eyes, each shining with a different light.

It moved — with speed to the extreme, impossible to see or even sense.

Puff! Puff! Puff! With each faint sound, a high-ranking priest or super-tier elder fell, horrific bloody holes appearing in their skulls.

Lu Jun saw familiar people dying — that young mage he had questioned earlier torn to shreds, Mina's daughter Putana pierced through the heart without suspense, and Bayer, the former head of the Summoning Institute who had taught him the Spirit Carving Method, corroded by deadly poison into a mass of pus and blood.

Rage surged in his heart — fury at his own powerlessness.

Wooo… wooo… In the next moment, Lu Jun's eyes turned pitch-black, as indifferent as a corpse. His figure grew faint, but his aura rose without limit, reflecting upon the heavens. Hundreds of millions of black nether radiances soared into the sky, and a boundless, eternal Netherworld Kingdom of despair, ill-omen, and death faintly emerged.

He was actually, with his own strength alone, contending against the Amazon Empire — each holding half of the world!
