Chapter 1496: Moving To The Last Trial
-----
Blake didn't let anything interrupt this moment, even as the cultists were finished off, massacred by his familiars, vampire spirits, and the three summoners and their special, unique familiars.
Allen's Beast Cards summoned giant Magic Beasts, Charlotte's Familiar Eggs rapidly hatched into smaller creatures that evolved quickly as they fought and killed, and Hyung San Woo's shadows continued appearing, extracted from dead Demon Cultists to rapidly amass an army.
The Demonic Generals, feared as the strongest after Sathan, did their best against them, but each one of these unremarkable figures was slain, as Blake and Erika paid no attention, and so most of them did. As Blake had said, they were now on another level, and finally, Spiritias was going to be truly cleansed from all of this.
The entire place down there was cleansed and purified by Elizabeth's magic, and no valuable resources were, of course, taken by Blake, as he didn't want these to fall into the wrong hands. These resources and demonic artifacts and materials gave him many ideas, for something he was planning in the very near future.
Once the day came to an end, the raid was over, and the news about the demon cultist being completely gone spread far and wide through the world, Sathan's death by Erika's hands, the cult's destruction by the Heroes Dylan, Blake, and Erika, became what everyone talked about for days.
"I caught you!"
"Hey not fair! The game didn't start yet!"
"Heheheh, 1, 2, 3 here I come! Run if you can!"
"Woooaaahhh!"
The laugher of children echoed through the grassy fields of Blake's town, near the Holy Spirits Church, a large orphanage now hosting many children, some of them looking rather different to the rest.
Erdrich glanced at the children playing, smiling while crossing his burly arms, feeling rather happy with himself. These children were all people like him to an extent, used by the cult and turned into half-demons to be used as weapons and soldiers for war.
But now, thanks to Dylan and Blake, they were spared from the massacre, given new homes, new lives, and a fresh new beginning.
"Thank you for bringing them here, I believe they like it here… the wind is nice, the sun is nice too, the food is good," Dylan said, looking at the scene. "Everything is just perfect…"
"Don't mind it, Erdrich helped a lot too, and Elizabeth as well," Blake said, sipping some cold tea while glancing the children play.
All three of them were sitting around a wooden table, enjoying a day off before their last battle truly begins.
"But I still am wondering, what will it be of these children now?" Eleanora spoke, bringing forth snacks for them, or well, mostly for Blake. "They're definitely not normal, and society… may not easily accept them like it did with Erdrich. Their appearance cannot be easily camouflaged like his. After all, he's the only "perfect" Half-Demon, the Cambion."
"I know, they have… I don't want to say deformities, but they have special appearances," Erdrich sighed. "However, we will try to work towards finding a cure for them with Elizabeth and the church, and if that doesn't work, we'll teach them to live with it and grow stronger so no matter what the world says about them, they will be able to bear with it, and forge their own paths no matter what."
"Well said," Blake nodded, closing his eyes as he took another sip from his cold tea. "With Sathan's death and mostly every other cultist gone, the Demonic Cult that has been on our tails since the beginning is finally gone… but there's nothing saying it might not be reborn somewhere else. The only way to truly end this is by going to the war itself."
"So you're joining… have you decided a date?" Dylan asked, curious. "I'll go with you, of course… It's finally time we push back."
"I want to go as soon as possible, but they won't let me…" Blake sighed. "In a month from now. I still need to do a couple of things. One of them is going to the trial… But for now, let's enjoy the day."
Blake spent the rest of the day with his friends and family, enjoying the bright sun and then having a delicious barbeque at night.
And once the next day arrived, he had already moved through continents once more, using his Dimensional Portals to reach his destination.
A desolate tower in the middle of a desert within the continent of dwarves.
"This is it, right?"
He walked towards the tower, as its gates opened automatically, greeting him with a bright flash of white light.
And once he found himself inside, there was no white zone with a floating administrator like before.
There was…
"OOOOOHHHH!!!"
The cheers of hundreds of people, raising their arms.
A black sky filled with stars, and into the distance, a massive and colorful realm.
And right in front of him, a shadowy figure, a silhouette made to resemble him…
"An arena? No… a coliseum?"
Blake found himself inside a coliseum, standing in front of an opponent.
And above the skies, there it was, an administrator.
It wasn't 0-10, however, as this admin seemed to have a mostly male-like silhouette, with glowing white light, and shorter tentacle hair.
"Welcome, Blake, I've been waiting for you. I have prepared your Trial. Unlike my sister who likes testing Minds and Hearts, I like testing Brawns. Your task is simple, defeat your opponent."
"Hoh?"
Blake raised an eyebrow, as the appearance of his opponent was finally revealed…
A vampire of slender and tall figure, of imposing appearance, a handsome and stoic face, long silvery-white hair, sharp crimson eyes.
Wearing black pants, a white shirt, and a black leather jacket, while holding a long red and black spear.
His appearance, his charisma, his presence, and his aura…
This man was nobody else but…
Him.
"Asmodeus…"
Blake's trial this time wasn't anything about being sent to an scenario.
It was about confronting his own past.
And overcome it.
