Vampire Progenitor System

Chapter 214: "You're in for the fight of your life."

The moment came like a whisper.

[SYSTEM NOTICE: NEW DAY CYCLE – 21st FLOOR UNLOCKED]

Lucifer's eyes opened.

His body was reclined against the cold stone of a resting chamber etched deep into the vampire realm's dungeon. Blood runes still glowed faintly around him, pulsing like a slowed heartbeat.

He sat up, ran a hand through his dark hair, and stretched. Bones popped. Muscles cracked. He rolled his neck.

"Time to move."

He reached for his coat and slipped it on slowly, adjusting the collar. The moment his boots hit the ground, another message chimed.

[Floor Synchronization Complete – Floor 21: The Mourned Basilica]

A faint voice hummed in the back of his mind—low, smooth, familiar.

"You're in deeper now, boy."

Lucifer exhaled through his nose. "Morning, Damaris."

"Still calling me that?"

Lucifer smirked faintly. "Still not calling you 'Dad.'"

"Hmph. Fair."

The gate ahead hissed open, ancient stone grinding back to reveal a shadow-soaked cathedral stretching far beyond reason. Black pillars reached into a ceiling lost in darkness. Rows of broken pews floated midair, rotating slowly. Stained glass windows depicted forgotten rituals—some still bleeding.

Lucifer stepped through without a word.

A second later, everything screamed.

A dozen cloaked figures dropped from the ceiling—bladed limbs whirling. Their faces were carved porcelain, cracked down the center.

Lucifer didn't blink.

With a single burst of movement, he vanished—then reappeared midair, upside down, blade drawn. Crimson flashed. Heads rolled.

Blood arced sideways, defying gravity.

He landed in a crouch and snapped his fingers.

The spilled blood ignited around him in a circular ring.

One of the porcelain creatures hissed and lunged.

Lucifer raised two fingers.

The blood shot upward like a spear and skewered the creature midflight, pinning it to the spinning pew.

[Enemy Defeated]

"You're cleaner now. More focused."

"I'm annoyed. That helps."

"Keep it. You'll need it for what's coming."

Lucifer strode forward. The blood ring followed like a shadow, spinning slowly around his body.

He passed through the far side of the basilica and descended into the next chamber.

22nd Floor – The Hollow Choir

Lucifer walked into darkness.

No enemies in sight. Only sound. Screaming voices. Hundreds. Thousands.

A choir of agony.

He kept walking until the air began to compress. Thin tendrils of mist snaked toward him, each whispering in a voice he knew.

His mother's laugh. Remu's cry. Even Luna's whisper.

"Don't stop."

Lucifer's hands clenched. He closed his eyes.

Then snapped his fingers.

The blood ring burst outward—striking nothing. But the voices choked.

Light pierced the room. He saw them then—faces carved into the walls. All of them twisted.

He raised his hand and pointed.

"Burn."

The walls caught fire, and the screaming turned into a wail that cracked the air itself.

[22nd Floor Cleared – Proceed]

23rd Floor – Blade Valley

Lucifer landed in a canyon full of floating swords. Every blade vibrated with hostility.

He didn't wait.

He moved like a phantom, deflecting each strike with the flat of his palm or shoulder. Sparks rained. Cuts formed. He grinned through it.

A massive zweihander spun toward him.

He caught it with his bare hand—then crushed it into blood.

[Weapon Converted – Crimson Construct: Serpent Fang]

The blood formed into a long whip and coiled around his arm.

He launched forward, whipping the blade through the air and shattering the next wave of weapons.

24th Floor – The Crimson Orchard

Trees of flesh. Leaves like knives.

The enemies here were silent.

Lucifer moved slower. Smarter.

He used blood sense to feel every heartbeat around him—hidden, twitching inside the trees.

He extended his palm. Red light pulsed.

Then—boom.

The entire orchard exploded into a spray of gore.

But something leapt from the carnage.

A tree that bled like a beast, roaring as it charged.

Lucifer snarled. "Finally."

He clashed with it head-on. Fire against flesh. Blade against root. He was knocked back once, twice—but never fell.

Then he stabbed upward, straight into its core.

[Floor Guardian Slain – Essence Claimed]

"Faster than I expected."

"You always doubt me."

"I'm your father. That's my job."

25th Floor – Memory Well

Lucifer was alone.

Truly.

No enemies. Just a stone well.

He stepped forward—and saw himself.

A child. Crying. Bleeding. Reaching out.

Lucifer frowned. "Tch."

He walked right through the vision.

But it clung.

His past. His regrets. The people he failed.

His first turn. His first kill. Remu's last smile.

"Enough."

He pressed a hand to his chest.

The blood inside him surged.

It expelled the memories like poison.

He didn't look back.

26th Floor – Iron Grave

Titanic suits of armor rose from the ground. Each one was the size of a house.

Lucifer cracked his neck.

"Finally."

He vanished again. Reappeared on the first titan's shoulder, driving a knife into its neck.

They swarmed him. Each hit was enough to level cities.

He took every blow.

And kept rising.

With every kill, he bled more. And the blood became his armor. Red spikes. Crimson wings.

By the end, he wasn't even fighting with weapons.

He was the weapon.

27th Floor – Silence Engine

A mechanical labyrinth. No sound.

He ran.

Faster than light. Faster than thought.

Traps triggered in slow motion.

He slipped between lasers. Ducking, sliding, pivoting.

A single mistake would erase him.

He didn't make one.

At the core of the engine was a silent humanoid.

Lucifer faced him.

They exchanged no words.

Just fists.

Each blow bent reality. Shattered tiles. Tore the floor apart.

Lucifer's knuckles bled black.

He grinned through the pain.

And won.

28th Floor – Fractal Room

Endless versions of himself.

Each more monstrous.

One had wings. One had horns. One cried. One screamed.

They attacked him all at once.

Lucifer fought himself.

Literally.

And it was brutal.

He was stronger than anyone—but so were they.

He used every trick. Every ounce of skill.

Eventually, only one Lucifer stood.

Breathing hard.

Bleeding.

Alive.

29th Floor – Pale Garden

White.

Everywhere.

Snow.

Cold.

Nothing hostile.

Just… peace.

And a bench.

Lucifer sat.

Closed his eyes.

For five minutes, he said nothing.

The only floor that made him feel small.

Then the snow whispered:

[Next Floor Unlocked – 30th Floor: The Sovereign Gate]

He stood.

And the moment he did—

He felt it.

The pressure.

Crushing.

Wrong.

Electricity ran down his spine.

His skin prickled.

His breath turned to fog even before he stepped through the gate.

"You feel that?" Damaris said.

Lucifer nodded once.

Even his voice felt thin.

"What is this floor?"

"Your fight."

"Against what?"

"…Everything."

Lucifer took one step forward.

The air moaned.

[WARNING: Difficulty Spike – DEATH THRESHOLD EXCEEDED]

He didn't stop.

Damaris sighed.

"You're in for the fight of your life."

Lucifer said nothing.

He walked into the mist. Alone. Silent. Ready.

And the gate closed behind him.
