Back in his car, Yunting let out a long breath, his previously tense nerves slowly relaxing. When he was in front of Lu Yu, he felt like his whole body was trembling, and only now in the car did he realize his clothes were soaked with sweat.

Apologizing in front of the Victory Group in such a large crowd was something he had never experienced before, but he had no choice to do so in order to save his life!

He knew how terrifying Lu Yu's skills were last night, which had completely filled Yunting with fear. If he continued to stubbornly provoke Lu Yu, his fate would be imaginable!

Just as Yunting was slowly letting his guard down, his phone suddenly buzzed, causing the slightly relaxed Yunting to jump in fright.

He cautiously picked up the phone, and after repeatedly confirming it wasn't Lu Yu's number, he pressed the call button.

As soon as he pressed the call button, a deep male voice came through: "Hello? President Yun? I'm Li Shengru, Li Shengtao's father!"

Hearing this, a hint of surprise flashed in Yunting's eyes. Li Shengru was a real estate tycoon in LA City, so it was indeed surprising that he would call him.

Although surprised, Yunting did not appear overly enthusiastic. Even though he left last night, he could imagine with his knees what a terrible end Li Shengtao had met!

There was a high probability that Li Shengru was calling because of his son!

"So it's President Li, Li Shengru."

Upon hearing the voice on the phone, Yunting's previously fawning expression disappeared. Although he was afraid of Lu Yu, he did not take Li Shengru seriously at all: "What can I do for you with this call? As far as I know, it seems like we don't have much interaction, do we?"

Yunting was the boss of the Celestial Wolf Association, and Li Shengru was a real estate tycoon in LA City. The two had no business or personal connections, living in completely separate worlds, which is why Yunting would say such a thing.

In Yunting's opinion, if it weren't for the idiotic Li Shengtao hopping about seeking revenge on Lu Yu, he wouldn't have had to shamelessly bow and apologize in front of so many people at the Victory Group today!

Thinking of Li Shengtao now, Yunting was filled with fury!

Hearing Yunting's words, Li Shengru was taken aback. He never expected Yunting would speak to him like this.

Though extremely displeased, Li Shengru suppressed his anger and spoke: "President Yun, isn't there some misunderstanding between us?"

"Hmph!"

Hearing Li Shengru's words, Yunting responded with a cold snort, not bothering to say much more.

These matters all started because of Li Shengtao. If it weren't for him, Yunting would never have provoked someone as ruthless as Lu Yu, nor would he have had to humiliate himself by apologizing in such a manner at the Victory Group's entrance!

Just thinking of Li Shengtao's name made Yunting grind his teeth in anger. If it weren't for Li Shengru's notable background, Li Shengtao would have been taken care of by him long ago!

Hearing the cold snort over the phone, Li Shengru spoke up: "President Yun, you might not know, but the reason I'm calling is because last night my son was beaten almost to death, one kidney completely destroyed. President Yun, you are on good terms with him, so I wanted to discuss if you'd be willing to..."

"Not willing!"

Upon hearing Li Shengru mention Li Shengtao's name, Yunting immediately interrupted him: "Beaten to death? I tell you, he deserved it! Li Shengtao is a bastard, losing only one kidney is getting off lightly. If it were up to me, I'd throw him in the ocean to feed the fish!"

Li Shengru was enraged upon hearing these words. No matter how disappointing his son was, or how harshly he scolded him, only he could do so, not others insulting him like this!

Thinking this, Li Shengru was about to retort when Yunting's words cut through: "Li Shengru, let me tell you, your son brought this upon himself. If you want to resolve it, do it yourself. Don't come to me. If you persist in bothering me, I won't hesitate to smash up your residence and company. I've made myself clear, so don't blame me for not warning you!"

With that, Yunting hung up the call.

"Damn it, do you think it's been easy for me to get this far? Just resolved one problem, and now you're bringing me another. Whoever wants to mess with someone as ruthless as Lu Yu, go right ahead; I'm not getting involved!"

After last night's events, Yunting was chilled even thinking about confronting Lu Yu, let alone doing it.

After hanging up, Yunting unbuttoned his suit, hit the gas, and sped off towards his residence.

Meanwhile, upon hearing the phone disconnect, Li Shengru angrily smashed his customized luxury phone onto the ground, breaking it into pieces.

"Damn bastards! Lu Yu, do you think just because Yunting won't strike, I can't deal with you?" Li Shengru breathed heavily, his words full of coldness: "Even without Yunting, I can still get rid of you, and openly at that. Just wait and see!"
