Chapter 663: The Lion and the Mad Dog
"Ha! Haha! You don't want to kill me? I don't have the ability to kill you?"
Liang Chen laughed maniacally, as if he had heard the funniest joke. However, in those eyes tightly fixed on Chu Ge, there wasn't the slightest hint of laughter, only an intense, almost tangible killing intent.
Chu Ge took a drag of his cigarette and exhaled it lightly, his gaze shifting away from Liang Chen, completely ignoring the ferocity on his face and the wild laughter filling the air, as he stepped towards the door.
This disregard was more unbearable for Liang Chen than any harsh words. When Chu Ge was only a few steps away, approaching him without even glancing sideways, he finally erupted completely.
"Kid, the one who truly doesn't know their limits is you!"
With a loud roar, Liang Chen's right arm suddenly swung back, his tightly clenched fist letting out a series of cracking sounds, accompanied by a sharp whistle of air, and he threw his punch at Chu Ge's face like a raging torrent and thunderstorm.
He intended to use this punch, capable of easily smashing through a wall, to pulverize Chu Ge's head!
Chu Ge's gaze remained fixed ahead, as if that fiercely incoming punch didn't exist at all. This sight made Liang Chen believe that Chu Ge wouldn't have time to react.
"Die!"
A fierce gust of wind whooshed by, leaving Liang Chen stunned.
This punch he was sure would hit, missed? Liang Chen stared at the spot where Chu Ge had stood, his pupils shrinking tightly, as if he had seen a ghost.
Chu Ge's figure had inexplicably vanished right under his nose? How... how is this possible?
Tap tap tap...
Only after hearing footsteps behind him did Liang Chen suddenly snap back, turning his head swiftly, seeing Chu Ge's silhouette walking unhurriedly forward. It seemed so natural, as if Chu Ge was supposed to be there, and what Liang Chen saw when he swung his fist was merely an illusion he conjured himself.
No way, this is absolutely impossible, I must have been seeing things. Otherwise, no matter how exquisite his movement skills are or how fast he is, it's impossible for me not to notice at all!
Liang Chen's eyes flickered a few times, filled with ferocity again, "You, stop there!"
Chu Ge ignored Liang Chen's voice, as if he hadn't heard it at all, continuing to walk forward indifferently.
"I said stop!"
Liang Chen's eyes twitched, feeling extremely insulted and provoked. Even if Chu Ge had said anything at all, it would have been more acceptable than this disregard.
Of course, Chu Ge had no intention of paying attention to Liang Chen, nor did he plan to leave immediately, but continued his steady steps forward.
Continuously ignored by Chu Ge, Liang Chen was nearly driven mad. With a scream, he rushed towards Chu Ge, the tip of his foot suddenly pushing off the ground, his figure leaping high, delivering a flying kick towards Chu Ge's head.
However, just as he jumped, it was as if Chu Ge could foresee the move, or as if he had eyes on the back of his head. He casually tilted his head, letting Liang Chen's kick brush past his ear, missing by less than a centimeter, yet completely failing to harm Chu Ge.
Landing back on the ground, Liang Chen let out another wild scream, attacking Chu Ge like a frenzied tiger.
This time, Liang Chen finally completely retracted any underestimation towards Chu Ge. In just a dozen seconds, he had thrown out countless punches and kicks, each with massive force, every move full of variations.
Yet, even though Chu Ge's movements appeared nothing special, even seeming slow, Liang Chen's attacks still all hit nothing but air. Let alone injuring Chu Ge, he didn't even touch the hem of Chu Ge's clothes.
If this alone was shocking enough, what was even more unbelievable to Liang Chen was that Chu Ge not only evaded all his attacks but also never paused his steps for an instant. Unknowingly, he had already walked seven or eight meters away.
Liang Chen found this fact unacceptable. Though his skills were not outstanding within the family, not even among the younger generation, at least he was a legitimate descendant of an ancient martial arts family!
Now, was he being openly scorned by an ordinary person? Even played with like a monkey? Of course, he couldn't tolerate such a thing!
But no matter how unacceptable, how intolerant it was for him, the facts were still the facts. Even though he exerted all his strength, he still couldn't injure this ordinary person, whom he believed could be killed at will, nor could he stop his strides at all.
As Chu Ge walked from the sixth floor to the fifth, Liang Chen's breathing had already become erratic. After another series of futile attacks, he finally stopped, filled with both shock and unwilling anger.
"Who on earth are you! Stop dodging like a coward. If you've got any guts, face me like a man and fight me fair and square!"
Chu Ge thought the time was about right and finally stopped his steps, turning slightly to look at Liang Chen, whose chest was heaving violently and whose expression was tinged with a hysteric madness. The corners of his mouth slightly lifted into a mocking curve.
"Fight like a man, fair and square?" Chu Ge repeated, raising his right hand.
Liang Chen, though initially aggressive in words, suddenly froze upon seeing Chu Ge's movement. His eyes narrowed, and he instinctively took a step back, heightening his concentration and getting ready to respond to Chu Ge's attack.
"Sorry, I'm a bit tired, and honestly... I have no interest in fighting a little brat like you."
Chu Ge yawned, took another puff of his cigarette, and casually flicked away the cigarette butt in his hand, the ash about a fingertip's length drifted away.
"You!" Liang Chen's face twitched violently a few times, growing increasingly shocked and furious.
What shocked him was how the ash on Chu Ge's cigarette had gotten so long in such a tense situation just now.
What infuriated him was how he had assumed such a defensive posture when all Chu Ge did was smoke, what could be more humiliating than that?
"What do you mean 'you'? Didn't I already tell you, a lackey like you who only takes pride in bullying ordinary people should have the awareness of a lackey. Go home and drink milk, have someone in charge from your family contact me; I have nothing to say to you."
Although Liang Chen had realized Chu Ge's prowess, Chu Ge's lazy yet disdainful attitude, along with repeatedly calling him a lackey, deeply stung his pride as a member of a martial arts family.
"I'm the grandson of the third elder of the Liang Family! You're the damn lackey!" Liang Chen roared and lunged forward again!
However, before Liang Chen could make a move, he suddenly felt his vision blur and his breath halted; Chu Ge's right hand had clutched his neck, hoisting him off the ground.
"Kid, don't test my patience anymore. It's true I don't like bullying the weak, but that doesn't mean I won't. After all... not every lion turns a blind eye to a mad dog's barking."
In an instant, the laziness in Chu Ge's demeanor was replaced by extreme coldness, his eyes slightly narrowed, like a fierce beast devoid of emotion, ready to devour its prey.
Liang Chen shivered involuntarily, the resentment and defiance in his eyes vanished instantly, leaving only a deep-seated fear, a chilling sensation that seemed to freeze his soul from the inside out.
It must be said, Liang Chen is an arrogant person. Even when he recognized that Chu Ge was indeed much stronger, and even under the enormous pressure engulfing him, he still managed, after locking eyes with Chu Ge for a few seconds, to squeeze a few words through his gritted teeth.
"Sto... stop scaring me, you... what can you do to me? Our Liang Family is..."
Swish!
Before Liang Chen could finish his sentence, Chu Ge tossed him aside like garbage towards a window without any glass installed.
"Ah!" Liang Chen screamed, his body flying through the air like a kite in a gale, Chu Ge's cold face rapidly distancing from his sight.
Immediately after, Liang Chen saw the window frame, the cold exterior wall of the building, and the surrounding darkness.
Cold sweat poured from Liang Chen's forehead. This was the fifth floor; even with his extraordinary physique, falling from this height in that position was extremely dangerous.
Could it be... he really dares to kill me? He actually dares to kill me!
This thought flashed through his mind, and a strong will to survive surged within Liang Chen. Instinctively, before his body hit the ground, he reached out towards the window sill.
Just a little more, his fingers were almost slipping past the sill, yet he managed to grip it with his index and middle fingers.
As his hands barely held onto the window sill, a few loose stones he disturbed fell past him, sounding like soft whispers in the silent night, resonating in his ears like thunder.
"Gulp"
Liang Chen swallowed hard, his body softened, cold sweat soaking through his black attire as he desperately hooked a few fingers around the sill, hanging in mid-air.
But as he tried to catch his breath and pull himself up, he found Chu Ge already at the window, effortlessly leaping onto the sill.
"What... what are you doing?" Liang Chen's pupils dilated, his hands trembled, and a few small stones fell again, resembling loud cracks of thunder nearby.
Chu Ge didn't respond to Liang Chen's question; an evil grin spread across his lips. Under Liang Chen's horrified gaze, he raised his right foot slowly, aiming at the fingers desperately clinging to the sill.
"No... no... stop!"
