Chen Yang arrived alone at Li Si's room.

The moment the door was knocked on, Li Si's voice came from within. "Yang?"

"Er..." Chen Yang smiled. "It's me."

The door was pulled open immediately. Dressed in a dark green evening gown, Li Si made a classic welcoming gesture and said cheerfully, "Yang, please come in."

"How did you know it was me?" Chen Yang asked, a look of confusion on his face as he walked in.

Li Si closed the door and giggled. "I already heard about what happened at the banquet, and that Yang Chun woman even came to apologize to me. Who else could it be? In this whole world," she said, hugging him with a look of deep affection, "you're the best to me, Yang."

"If I'd known this was going to happen, I wouldn't have come," Chen Yang said, prying himself free and taking a step back while rubbing his nose.

"Why not? You're just in time to watch my rehearsal." Li Si took the hem of her dress and gave a light twirl. She spoke seriously, as if to a crowd, "Hello everyone, I am Li Si. I'm so happy you could all make it. Now, for my first song."

Her performance was earnest and flawless. It was a shame Chen Yang was her only audience member. Seeing her staring at him expectantly, Chen Yang felt he ought to say something.

He adopted a solemn expression. "Wow, you're my idol. I'm a huge fan."

Li Si was speechless.

"Come on, Yang, you're being so fake," she said, rolling her eyes in exasperation. "Can't you be a little more serious? Put some feeling into it!"

Seeing his clueless expression, Li Si gave up. She took two steps forward, spun in front of him, and asked with a grin, "What do you think of this dress?"

"That color isn't very flattering," Chen Yang commented honestly.

"Really?" Li Si looked down, examining herself for a moment before an idea seemed to dawn on her. She covered her mouth and chuckled. "Is it because you men don't like the color green?"

Chen Yang fell silent. In truth, that cultural implication hadn't crossed his mind; he just genuinely disliked the color.

"Fine, I won't wear this one then," Li Si said with a nod.

"It's fine. As long as you like it, that's what matters."

"Of course, I have to listen to my Yang."

With that, the beautiful and vibrant Li Si bit her lip alluringly and slipped the evening gown off right there in front of Chen Yang. "Well? Do I look good like this?"

Chen Yang immediately spun around and headed for the door. "Right, I should go."

Just as Li Si was about to chase after him, there was another knock on the door.

Startled, Li Si scrambled to pick up the dress from the floor and quickly pulled it back on.

"Yang, can you get the door for me?" she asked, smoothing her hair.

Chen Yang opened the door.

"It's you!"

Who else could it be but Di An? Having just been rebuffed, he couldn't have imagined he would run into Chen Yang again so soon. And in Li Si's room, no less!

Although he had braced himself for it, Di An still felt a sharp sting in his heart. He forced a smile. "What a surprise. It hasn't been long, but to think Sisi already has a boyfriend. But... does he know who you are?"

The question made Li Si's expression flicker. She changed the subject, "Did you need something from me?"

"I heard you were in trouble, so I rushed over from Qiyun Road to help. I didn't expect you to already have a boyfriend," Di An said, shrugging helplessly. "There's a cafe downstairs. Shall we go sit there?"

Li Si hesitated for a moment before finally nodding. "Wait here, I'll go change."

BANG!

The door was slammed shut, nearly hitting Di An in the nose. His eyes instantly turned bloodshot.

Changing clothes? With another man still in the room!

"You two go ahead. I'll be heading back," Chen Yang said with a nod before walking away.

At least you know when to make yourself scarce! Di An thought with a cold snort. He turned to Li Si with a smile. "Sisi, let's go."

Li Si and Di An sat across from each other. She gazed out the window while Di An chattered endlessly.

"Sisi, that guy isn't worthy of you," Di An finally got to his point. Without waiting for her reply, he declared definitively, "I don't approve."

Only when Chen Yang's car had completely vanished from sight did Li Si turn back. Her voice was cold. "Di An, you're overstepping. What gives you the right to approve or disapprove of my life?"

"We grew up together! This concerns your future. I can't just stand by and watch you throw yourself into a pit of fire," Di An stated righteously.

He had always assumed that, given their closeness, he would have the advantage—the pavilion closest to the water sees the moon first. Yet here was the Sisi he pined for, having quietly found some nobody to be her boyfriend. The feeling was one of utter humiliation.

"I said, this is none of your business," Li Si said, her brows knitting together in anger.

A pit of fire? He's the Zhennan Prince! If I could really be with him, my entire Li Family and I would be the ones punching above our weight.

Most importantly, she would never allow anyone to belittle her beloved Yang.

Di An was stunned. He just stared at her, completely dumbfounded.

"Sisi, how could you do this to me?" Di An asked, an expression of pure grief on his face.

Li Si was deeply in love with Chen Yang, and she would not allow anyone to slander him. That was a line he could not cross.

Her tone softened slightly. "I have to prepare for my concert. I don't have time to entertain you."

"Sisi, I'm guessing your grandfather doesn't know about this, does he?" Di An's tone shifted. "Tell me, if your grandfather found out about him, what do you think his fate would be?"

Li Si was silent.
