I jumped down from the tree. The others also felt the same heavy feeling in the air. We all gazed at the same spot in the sky where a loud flying sound could be heard..

The dragon came from the dark sky and landed near the cave.

WUSHH!!

The clearly heavy pressure made Brian sweat. Clearly he hasn't encountered a beast like this. Well, so did I.

It roared at the cave, and tried to dig it out. A little gap in the cave was opened, and bursts of spiders came out from the cave.

They all crawled all over the dragon.

"ROARRR!!"

Walls of flames appeared from its mouth, burning the spiders once it touched them. The spiders are scared of light, so a simple fire can scare them away.

Some of the spiders died on the floor, burned down to charred black. The dragon approached them. It opens its mouth and chews.

CRUNCH!

CRUNCH!

"It's... Eating them?"

Brian looked at the others who were seeing the same thing, but my eyes knew what I was seeing, and I knew that it was bad.

"We have to stop it. Now!"

It's clear to me now what the dragon was doing. The specialty of dragons is that the more they eat, the closer they are to obtain power and evolution. And in this case, the dragon is trying to evolve.

"Wait, Rize??"

"It's trying to evolve. Once it's evolved, we have to get a White ranked adventurer to kill it!"

"Damn..."

Cane grits his teeth. He knows what we must do.

"So, we just attack?"

"Yes."

"Ok. Then on my mark."

Cane lifted his hand. He watches the dragon's movement. While it is busy chewing, it is the perfect time to attack.

The dragon just picked up a charred spider on its claws. Now is our chance.

"Now! Charge!!"

Everyone jumped from the hiding spot into the space outside. Cane used a long range light magic laser beam and hit the dragon on its back.

ZRIINNGGGG!!!!!!!!

"ROOOAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The dragon screamed, very loud.

The back looks red from the heat, but not enough to penetrate the scales. The dragon turned around, glaring at us. I guess the cave is totally useless to him because there are no more spiders coming out. They are all burned to coal.

"Dodge!"

Cane commanded. Gen and Brian quickly jumped to the sides as a huge boulder-sized fireball flew towards them.

BOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It exploded when it hit the trees.

"Bloody hell... That could've killed me."

"Don't lose your eyes!"

"Woahhh!"

He jumped just right. More fireballs are coming his way.

"Get your ass together. This is a high level yellow ranked lesser dragon! We have to stop it before it evolves!"

I shouted from the rear.

"Rize! Get it's attention!"

Cane said while he stopped moving. I could see what he was doing and quickly went closer to the dragon.

I threw a throwing knife at the dragon, but it only dented the scale with the sound of an impact before falling to the ground. I swore that much strength is enough to kill a hobgoblin, but it's not even enough to deal a small damage to this guy. But it sure is pissed when I thrown the knife.

Well at least I successfully obtained its attention. Now all I gotta do is dodge.

Luckily my body is completely healed, so I can move normally. The dragon shoots fireballs at me, as well as walls of flames. But I just dodged them all pretty easily.

"Woah, she is scary fast!"

"Hey, focus!"

Gen and Brian are sneaking up to the dragon's back. When they finally arrived on their attack range, they started attacking.

Gen used his heavy metal armguards to bash the dragon's scales, while Brian tried to cut through the scale. Not a single attack from them was able to deal any damage.

They were completely ignored by the dragon because the dragon is completely focused on me.

Well, that's neither good nor bad.

I recalled how the sword slash was able to cut the wall of flames. And I just remembered a certain sword that can deal with fire. And I brought in another item, just in case I had to deal with fire.

I took out my second sword. Aside from that, I also took out a black coloured robe.

"ROAARR!!!"

I wore the robe and lifted my main sword high. Focusing my energy on the grip, and letting it flow till the edge. 

A wall of flame came rushing towards me at high speed. It's size is at least twice the size of the dragon, and it is going straight at me.

I lifted my sword high, forming a stance. And I swung the sword with all I got.

WHUSHHHH!!!!

The slash cut over the whole wall of flames, and it went all the way to the dragon's body. Slight cracks can be seen on the dragon's scale, right on the chest and shoulder after that slash. But I didn't stop there.

After I did the slash, I moved forward immediately. I closed the gap at high speed until I was two meters away from the dragon's face.

Using my other sword that can withstand flames, I focused my energy on the grip again. But this time, I won't slice it from far away. I will slice it up close.

ROAARR!!!

Walls of flames ate me alive.

"Rize!!"

SHREKKK!!

"ROAAARRR!!"

The dragon finally had a nose bleed. I guess my plan is the right one.

If I enhanced my sword and did an air sword slash, I just simply made it sharper so powerful it can cut the wind. But the true purpose wasn't for cutting the air. It's to cut indestructible armour.

The cut went in, but I didn't cut deep enough, so I only damaged it's nose. All the way to its front teeth.

ROARRR!!!

The walls of flames ate me again. Cane looked at me burning with an unbelieving face. The walls of flames stopped. And I'm still standing.

"Rize!"

The dragon lifted its arm. Oh, now you can't use fires against me, you use physical? Rude.

I sheathed both of my swords.

BAMM!!

After that encounter with the trolls, I just realized that I have monstrous strength.

I grabbed the dragon's hand using both of my hands. The dragon turned immobilized as I am holding his hand with my hulk-like strength.

"If you want to do something, do it now!"

"Got it!"

He was hiding it, but he was actually charging up an energy beam. He hid the focused energy behind him so the dragon couldn't see. And now it is fully charged.

"HORYAAAAA!!!!!!"

CIINGGG!!!

That's a cannon. The light energy beam flew as fast as light towards the dragon, and the dragon couldn't dodge it.

ZIIINNNNNGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Direct hit on the head. The dragon is now headless.

It slammed to the ground with its gigantic body in a thud. Gen and Brian came out from the dragon's tail. After hitting them unnecessarily for the whole time.

"Fuuh... I finally took it down."

"Well said, Brian."

"Hey! I helped!"

Gen looked at the body of the dragon who is now headless.

"What are we going to do with it?"

"Take a single scale back to the Office. They have to know what happened here."

"What about the cave?"

I asked about the cave. Looks like all the spiders are dead because they ran outside.

"Let's check it one more time."

We all went to the cave one last time. But this time, we are entering.

Cane made a ball of light to shine the insides. And what is viewed by our eyes, are some pretty huge spider caves.

Right at the end of the cave is a giant egg. The size of the egg is almost the same as the other adult spiders.

"It's still intact."

Cane looked into it deeper. The being inside is still alive.

"How is this one so big?"

"Queen Arachnids."

The others looked at me.

"Once every hundred born, there is one descendant that was destined to be the mother. The queen, you can call it. They call it Queen Arachnids."

"Woah... The dragon totally missed this one."

"No. A single queen arachnid is at least a White ranked. You probably can't feel it because it was hidden by the dragon's pressure, but this thing also emits a heavy pressure."

Right after I said that, everyone turned their senses towards the egg and quickly noticed just how powerful this egg really is. They all swallow their saliva.

"So, the dragon was actually after this thing?"

"Yes. And if we let this thing go freely, the entire mountain could become the home of spiders."

"Oh... Lord."

"So, what should we do?"

Cane asked me. And without answering, I unsheath my sword.

CLAKK!!

I destroyed the egg and killed the spider inside. The pressure immediately disappears.

"Wha..."

"Ehh??"

"What? You want to keep it as a pet?"

"No... I mean..."

"The only logical thing to do is to destroy it. What else are we supposed to do?"

"Well we could report it to the Office to get some prize?"

Ah, prize. Of course. But that can be easily fixed. I picked something from inside the egg.

"Ughh... Seriously?"

"Do you want the payment or not?"

"Fine. We'll split it in four."

That goes without saying.

Cane took the baby queen arachnid head I just gave him and stored it in his ring.

"But how would they know what type of spider this is?"

"They will. Don't underestimate the Office."

"Right, right."

We left the cave afterwards. For a White ranked monster egg to be in this place... The chances that it spawned naturally is very low. And the fact that there is a dragon here without the villagers knowing, is even weirder.

Right now, I'm just glad that the dragon didn't eat the white ranked egg. Because if it did, it would evolve immediately. And most likely halfway to another evolution already.

Today, we stopped two disasters from happening. I hope I get a bunch of money from this.

The noobs are plucking the scales from the dead dragon. Since the dragon's fangs can't be looted because it's no longer there, they just took the scales.

"They are good for armour and selling!"

Gen said to me while he was plucking the scales.

I let out a sigh.
