Undead Beast Master: Living Solely for My Desires

Chapter 406: The Final Ascent

To Zaroth's displeasure, however, it seemed that Luna's fire breath had burned pretty much everything in the area.

Since he had intensified her fire, making it even stronger, he should have expected this result, perhaps.

Except for the ash that covered the whole area, there was nothing else. No matter how hard he tried to search, he ultimately wasn't able to understand what the elven branches were fighting for.

"Well, nothing to be done about that." He shook his head, as at that moment, a revelation hit him like thunder… Did it even matter?

He glanced towards Ari.

"You are able to use and feel the will of the world much better than me, so can you locate the imprisoned elven leader?"

She blinked several times.

"It depends… Maybe if we go very high in the sky, but then we might be attacked from all sides, since we would be drawing attention to ourselves. Not to mention that even if we find it, we would be able—"

"Ari." Zaroth cut her off.

"Just answer the question."

After a bit of hesitating, she nodded.

"Luna." He said, gazing at the skeletal dragon.

"Prepare to fly very high."

She tilted her head to the side slyly. 'Aren't you rushing things?'

He took a deep breath, gazing at his hand.

Perhaps she was right; he was indeed rushing things…

"This is the end." He spoke emotionlessly, looking at the ash that had been left behind by Luna's flames and him, intensifying them.

"What do you mean?" Vera interrupted.

"I am strong… too strong to care about doing things or about how things should be done. I have grown tired of this pitiful talking with the elves, diplomatic plots, and whatnot."

His green eyes gazed at the sky.

"All my life I have been guided by external forces… manipulated, sure, I might have gone with their plans because I would have benefited from it…"

He turned his back to the ash, climbing upon Luna's back.

"But not anymore. I will do what I want, what I desire. I am not going to waste any more time here."

He wasn't just physically strong; his mental health was unshakable. He had powerful skills in his arsenal and even mightier beasts.

"If somebody were to stay in my path, I would simply deal with them in the most efficient… fastest way."

"Kill them."

Following his command, Luna soared high in the skies, much higher than normal, going beyond the clouds and continuing even further.

The air began to thicken, making it harder to breathe; coldness closed in on the people aboard Luna's back.

Yet Zaroth's expression didn't falter.

"I feel it." Finally, Ari spoke, bringing the attention to herself.

With an extended finger, she pointed to the east.

"There is an unnatural amount of will there. The imprisoned elven leader should be there. No doubt about it."

"I see." Zaroth nodded, inwardly glad that he had taken her aboard.

"Luna, you know what to do."

She hesitated for a few seconds.

'Charging in there will be reckless. There will, for sure, be many powerful guards there.'

"I know." Zaroth remained unfazed.

"No matter how strong they might be, they will fall under my blade."

'But—'

"Luna." He spoke coldly.

"Go."

Listening to his command, she shot towards the destination.

The powerful winds whipped Zaroth's hair to the side, his expression unshakable.

'From what I know, the elven leader has a fragment. I will kill him and take it for myself. Simple as that. Once that is done, I am out of this continent.'

It didn't take long to be spotted by numerous elves in the area. They drew bows, ready to shoot him down.

"Luna."

Only to be turned into ash a few seconds later.

Ari gritted her teeth, seeing so many of her kin being killed, but didn't argue.

"This must be it." She spoke as they saw a giant statue towering over the lands.

"The will of the world coming from the ancient structure is unreal." She said.

Zaroth paid half attention to her words. His attention was on the few elves that had gathered, noticing his approach.

'These seven are as powerful as the Elders of the Inner Circle.' He noted, measuring their power.

"Fragment Barrier," one of them shouted towards the Beast Master riding atop the skeletal dragon's back.

"For what reason have we earned this assault? Why did you descend only to strike and reduce such a vast part of our continent to ash?"

Zaroth cracked his neck. Then he took a glance at the destruction he had left behind.

He supped a scoff. 'Right, I am so strong, why should I do things that aren't to my liking?'

Meeting the gaze of the Elder elves, unfazed, his lips parted.

"Luna, Serpent, Eldros, Hellweaver, Nightshade, Silverfang, unnamed wolves."

One by one, his beasts materialized as Eldros exited from his shadow, each mighty and powerful, capable of causing devastation beyond human comprehension should it run free…

All following his will.

There was no need for more words; just by calling forth all of his beasts, Zaroth had made his intent clear.

The faces of the elves paled upon seeing how many great beings he had under his rule.

Still, they were elders, protectors of the continent and of the mad elven leader.

Even if it meant fighting until the end of their lives, they would do so.

The will of the world swirled around their figures, getting ready for battle, only to become even more horrified seeing that Zaroth too was able to use a part of it, even if his control ultimately paled to theirs.

"Now." He took a glance at his skeletal dragon Luna, his first beast and the reason he had reached so far; the colossal Serpent; the headless Judger Eldros; the terrifying spider Hellweaver; and Silverfang, as well as the wolves that were under him.

"Slaughter each and every one of them."

He ordered as an apocalypse descended on the elven continent—one that would live in the history books for the years to come.
