Ultimate soul eraser system: otherworldly harem

Chapter 12: Absorbing a soul

After max little bickering with his system, the Omniverse one has now decided on his new name frail. The latter was undeniably angry and felt belittled by his cunt sucking master, but decided to get revenge another time.

'I still don't get why soul steal skill, won't allow me to steal souls higher than mine.' Max frowned a bit at this, cause in the description of his soul steal skill it had boldly stated user can only steal souls lower than his, not higher.

He didn't know why, but he could always rely on his trusty ehmm! His pal for answers.

[You can't handle it weakling. To steal a soul isn't just pulling your dick out and putting it in a hole. No, it's a much more complex process.]

'Yeah.. why does it feel like you're jealous.' Max smirked sensing hints of jealousy in frails words.

[Idiot..] frail angrily said, wishing he could kill max strangle him till his very soul explode but alas, he was just a grumpy sys- ehhm! Lad.

[So how did you die anyways?] Frail suddenly asked, which made max face turn sour as a frown formed. He hated relieving those moments the time he was blindly deceived by a girl, beaten shitlessly by the same people that were hitting on her. And if that wasn't worse, he was gruesomely killed mercilessly by the fucking gangsters.

'I thought you could read my memories?' In most novels he'd read, he knew the system could access the host past memories and also talk telepathically.

[Are you kidding me? Nah.. that be would be a lot of stress for me and besides, it's probably not worth looking into considering how weak and pathetic you are.] Frail lazily said, causing max eye to twitch slightly.

'Why you..'

"Where am I?" Max suddenly heard a voice speak from behind turning, he could see Yuna was now awake staring at him. Her eyes were filled with fear as her body trembled a bit, but she still kept her resolve.

"Hmm.. you're awake." Max softly chuckled a bit, his eyes fixated on her. He didn't answer her question, and instead asked a question of his own.

"Do you remember what happened last night?" He asked and she shockingly nodded her head, but her face immediately turned red flushed a bit.

"Good. then you'll also remember how you tricked me into my death, and how you silently watched as you're fucking boyfriend and his crew cut me up." Max coldly said, his tone full with malice. and just like that, his happy attitude had immediately changed to that of rage.

Yuna could feel shivers down her spine when Max spoke those words, her body trembled as she recalled what happened.

"A-am sorry.. I-i tried to stop him, but I couldn't do shit. I was too weak." Yuna stuttered, tears forming in her eyes strolling down her cheeks.

"Bullshit!" Max angrily shouted, a thin green line could be seen bulging on his forehead. "You don't have a fucking excuse. you could've warned me, but you chose to satisfy your psycho excuse of a boyfriend!" Max was already mad at her from the moment he woke from the dead, he would've long killed her if not for his system stating he couldn't kill her.

"I can't, I owe them. If I didn't fulfill their wishes, then they would kill my sister." Yuna shouted her voice becoming shaky as she spoke, her body trembling with fear.

"I don't care.. you made your choice there and then, and I've made mine. Am going to kill all the members of those fucking gangsters and when am done.. I'll make you watch as I take everything away from you." Max softly said, staring into yuna's eye which had now sunken a bit as stared blankly at max. She knew he wasn't joking at all and meant what he said, as he wasn't human anymore. No, he was something more evil and ominous now that he'd been reborn.

"What are you?" Yuna softly asked, making max stop in his tracks. Turning, he had an insidious smile on his his face.

"To be honest am not exactly sure. But I do know am your worst nightmare." He smiled, wearing his tattered clothes walking out the door.

"Oh! and don't go anywhere." He smiled, slamming the door shut walking away. Yuna didn't know why, but she felt chained to max words like a command over her entire body.

"Good morning." Max smiled, waving over to the grumpy old man at the counter still reading the same old newspaper. The old man bent the newspaper down a bit, staring at max through the small space.

"Hmm.. fucking weirdo." He scoffed continuing on with his business. Max just shrugged his shoulders, not bothered in the slightest by this dying old man as he had better things to do.

Walking down, he could see the name of the street the the lounge is in is called takashi street. The reason why max was so intrigued in knowing the streets he walked by, was because he had a gut feeling he would be needing every bit of detailed information he could get.

"I can't wait.." Max excitedly grinned, walking pass some buildings and people. He could see the confused and frightened expressions on their faces, as they looked at him. He didn't care as he was loving it, seeing confusion in their eyes and fear in their hearts. It was like a toxic strong drink he was starting to get used to.

[Creepy..] frail softly said but Max ignored him, not wanting his annoying system get in his joyous mood.

[Soul: 23/30]

The reason why max was currently patrolling the streets, was because his soul which was also his hp had now dropped to 23, indicating about 30 minutes had passed. He was currently on the lookout, for a soul lower or on the same par with his he could absorb and replenish his.

As to how he could tell, well he had his trusty system to guide him.

'What about her?' Max inwardly said looking at a old woman about the age 50, buying some groceries from a stall just across.

[No.] Frail softly answered making max grunt in frustration, another five minutes had passed indicating another soul loss bringing his total down to 22. It was frustrating and definitely depressing for max, as he really wanted to try out his skill soul steal.

[Aren't you scared leaving your crazy psycho girlfriend behind.] Frail teased to which max frowned.

'You said she wouldn't move.' Max grumbled. The reason he wasn't bothered about leaving Yuna back at the lounge, was because his trusty system had told him so. According to frails words..

[Since you're the head, weaker members of your unholy harem will definitely obey your orders no matter how far you are away.]

Walking down a bit more he had currently left takashi street, and was now in a new street himea. He could see the streets weren't as lively as the previous street he'd been in, but he could still see few people patrolling them.

'Ha.. it feels like am melting.' Max frowned, covering his face from the attack by the sun. He never knew why but he didn't like the sun when he was still human, and even now as a wisp he still didn't. It was like they were like sworn enemies, not attracted to each other for life.

"I-i haven't even walked for an hour, but am already tired." max muttered, seeing his legs shaking a bit. He hadn't walked for an hour, but he felt like he'd walked for eternity as he was now panting.

'Fuck this.' Max then decided to take shelter from the sun, by going into an alley by his side.

[Haha! chicken.]

'What did you say?'

[Nothing...]

"Argh!! N-no.. please stop!" Max suddenly heard a sharp scream, followed by the sound of metal hitting against each other down the alley. A creepy smile suddenly formed on his face as he didn't think twice, going down the alley to the source of the scream.

It didn't take three minutes before he could see the end of the alley, up ahead as it was quite short. Narrowing his gaze he could see a thin young man, the age of his mid twenties held by the collar lifted up a bit.

"My patience is running thin Jake." The much bulkier man, holding the one known as Jake frowned. The other two that were with him laughed at the irony, as the one who max guessed was the leader spoke.

"P-please, I'll have the money." Jake begged, tears falling down his eyes.

"You better.. you have until 12 noon today. either bring my money, or I'll take your head." The bulky man scoffed, and max couldn't help but feel he literally meant that. Jake had a gleam of hope in his eyes, as he frantically nodded seeing an opportunity.

'Now why does this seem familiar.' Max smiled, remembering the same situation he was in recently. He wasn't stupid enough to charge in to the mean looking men, or even think of sneaking up on them. He didn't give two shit about Jake or any of that hero shit anymore, as he just hoped they didn't kill him yet.

"Let's go." The leader ordered, dropping Jake hard to the ground. the other two then licked his guts as they followed the bulky man, walking past max who hid behind a dumpster out from the alley.

'It's time.' Seizing the opportunity, max didn't hesitate as he charged towards Jake unaware of him. He didn't know if those gangsters were coming back, but he sure as hell didn't want to be here when they did so he had to end this quick.

Frail had confirmed Jake's soul being on the same par with max, so the latter basically had a go to kill Jake. Max couldn't afford to take any chances, as he still wanted to test how his soul steal skill worked, so he'd intended to knock Jack out quickly.

'Fuck.' Just as max fist was two meters from Jake's face he dodged, tripping max over and sending a knife fast to his chest.

[-5 soul]

"Ph-ough." Max coughed sharply, feeling the sharp metal pierce through his skin. He didn't expect the latter to have intercepted him and land an attack, but he'd underestimated Jake and it cost him.

'W-why isn't any blood coming out?' Jake wondered, seeing no blood flowing out from max.
