Chapter 193: Creating Sect
Tian Lei tapped the scroll.
"So land comes last?"
The clerk nodded.
"Yes. Once your sect passes the evaluation, the Empire grants you land based on your strength and resources. But passing the evaluation is the real challenge."
Tian Lei smiled faintly.
"This works."
He already had plans—undead soldiers, altered bloodline disciples, experiment subjects… and soon, essence core cultivators.
Finding ten disciples would be the easiest part.
His real goal was something else entirely—
A hidden sect.
A place where he could do experiments freely.
A force loyal only to him.
He folded the scroll.
"I'll be back soon," Tian Lei said.
The clerk didn't even look up. "Sure, sure. Everyone says that."
After arriving in the capital, Tian Lei sat in an inn, casually eating lunch while thinking about his next move—specifically, how to get land and the required members for his future sect.
"My best bet is to go to an existing sect," Tian Lei muttered. "If I defeat them, I can take over their territory and resources. The Empire has a rule: anyone can challenge a sect, and if they win, the entire sect becomes theirs."
He tapped his chopsticks on the bowl, already imagining the process.
"So all I need to do is find a notorious sect, beat the hell out of them, and then take everything they own."
He nodded to himself.
"Once that's done… I have a sect."
Tian Lei finished his meal and stepped out of the inn. The capital city was huge—crowded streets, tall buildings, and countless cultivators moving around with purpose.
"The closer a sect is to the Empire's capital, the stronger it usually is," Tian Lei murmured as he walked. "Better resources… better spiritual energy… better land."
He moved through the city, listening to gossip, examining maps, and watching the flow of cultivators.
Many sects surrounded the Divine Azure Empire's territory.
Some were small.
Some were wealthy.
Some were arrogant.
Some were corrupt.
Tian Lei didn't want a weak sect.
He wanted one with good land, strong spiritual veins, and enough reputation that taking it over would benefit him immediately.
He spent the whole day moving from information stall to information stall, overhearing travelers, even catching some disciples bragging about their sects.
After a long search, he finally found one that caught his attention.
A mid-tier sect close to the capital.
A sect known for bullying weaker forces.
A sect with a good spiritual vein under its mountain.
And most importantly…
A sect whose elders were famous for being lazy and corrupt.
Tian Lei smirked.
"This one is perfect."
He rolled up the map in his hand and tucked it away.
"A strong enough place to be useful… but weak enough that I can crush them alone."
His red eyes gleamed.
"Alright. I'll take this sect."
Without wasting time, Tian Lei shot into the sky, heading toward the mountain range where his soon-to-be sect was located.
Tian Lei flew for several hours until a towering stone gate finally came into view.
A massive plaque hung above it:
"Iron Sky Sword Sect."
Two guards stood at the entrance—both half-asleep, leaning on their spears.
When Tian Lei landed, they jolted slightly but didn't even fully straighten their backs.
One guard yawned.
"What do you want, kid?"
Tian Lei's expression didn't change.
"I'm here to challenge your sect," he said calmly. "I'll defeat it and take over."
The guards blinked.
Then the two looked at each other…
And burst into laughter.
"Hahaha! You hear that?"
"He wants to take over the sect!"
"A brat like you?"
"Listen, kid, even our sleepy outer elders could squash you like a bug."
One guard leaned forward, smirking.
"Go home before you end up dead."
Tian Lei didn't respond.
He simply walked past them.
The laughter stopped immediately.
"Hey! Stop!"
"You little—"
Both guards grabbed their swords and rushed at him.
Tian Lei finally raised one hand.
A gentle push of spiritual force—
BAM!
Both guards were launched backward like sacks of grain, slamming into the stone wall and collapsing unconscious.
Tian Lei dusted off his sleeve.
"If even the gatekeepers are this weak… this takeover will be faster than I thought."
Without hesitation, he stepped through the gates of the Iron Sky Sword Sect, heading straight toward its inner mountain—
toward the elders and the so-called "strong disciples" who didn't know their fate had already been decided.
Tian Lei walked calmly through the outer courtyard of the Iron Sky Sword Sect.Disciples stared, confused. Some pointed. Some whispered.
A few outer elders finally came out, annoyed by the noise.
One of them, an old man with a beer belly, shouted:
"Who dares cause trouble in our sect?!"
Tian Lei didn't bother answering.
The elder tried to release his aura…But compared to Tian Lei, it was laughable.
Before the old man even finished speaking, Tian Lei appeared in front of him.
BAM!
A single slap sent the elder flying across the courtyard, crashing into a stone pillar.
The outer disciples froze.
Another elder rushed forward, drawing a rusty sword.
"You brat! You dare attack an elder of the Iron Sky Sword Sect—"
Tian Lei stepped lightly.
A small flick of his finger released a shockwave.
BOOM!
The second elder smashed into the ground, coughing blood before he passed out.
The courtyard became silent.
Someone gulped.Someone else screamed and ran.
Tian Lei ignored all of it and walked forward.
Deeper in the sect, bells began to ring.
DONG! DONG! DONG!
"The sect is under attack!!"
"Gather the inner elders!"
"Prepare the formation!"
A group of inner elders rushed out of a hall, weapons drawn. Unlike the outer elders, they looked more serious and powerful—but still not enough.
The lead inner elder pointed his sword at Tian Lei.
"State your purpose, intruder! According to Imperial Law, only elders and true sect leaders may engage in sect duels! Otherwise—"
Tian Lei cut him off.
"I already declared my intent at the gate: I'm here to defeat your sect and take it over."
