Chapter 89: Hokage's Gate-Crushing Kick Jutsu
— — — — —
In the Ninja world, outside the Hokage's office:
BOOM!
Once again, Tsunade kicked open the office door with a loud crash and strolled in like she owned the place.
The Third Hokage's eye twitched as he looked at her. He couldn't hide his frustration. "Do you have to break the door every single time you come here?"
"Why do I have to keep replacing this thing every time you visit?" He sighed, rubbing his temples.
"Fine, I'll deduct the cost from your next mission payout!"
Tsunade shrugged nonchalantly. "Fine by me! Deduct away; it's not like it costs much anyway."
"And honestly, old man, I've gotten used to it. It's a habit now, and habits are hard to break!"
She smirked, crossing her arms. "You might as well get used to it, too. Just think of it as part of my charm!"
The Third Hokage could feel a vein popping. The audacity!
"Do you even hear yourself?" he snapped internally. "Who in their right mind uses 'habitual destruction' as a justification?"
He sighed deeply. What misfortune to have taken this one as a student.
And not just Tsunade—his other two disciples weren't exactly model shinobi either.
One was Jiraiya, a hopeless pervert who preferred climbing in through windows instead of using doors.
The other was Orochimaru, who started out normal but had gone full mad scientist, experimenting with poisons, snakes, and body modifications.
Why couldn't I have just one student who didn't give me a headache?
"Alright, what is it this time?" the Hokage asked, resigned. "Shouldn't you be preparing for the frontlines right now?"
Tsunade shook her head. "I'm not heading to the front just yet."
The Third Hokage blinked. "What? Why not? What are you planning to do instead?"
"My student, Uchiha Kaito, along with Uzumaki Kushina, Uchiha Mikoto, and Namikaze Minato, all want to graduate early," Tsunade replied matter-of-factly. "They want to get some experience before the war breaks out in full swing."
"As their teacher, I can't let them down. So, I'll be guiding them for a while."
"Oh, and Nawaki's planning to graduate early too. I'm guessing Orochimaru won't be heading to the frontlines either since he'll need to mentor him."
"And honestly, I bet a bunch of parents are going to push for their kids to graduate early soon. They'd rather their kids have some training before being thrown straight into a warzone."
The Third Hokage frowned. "Who's been spreading these rumors about the village forcing early graduations? That's nonsense!"
"Rumors?" Tsunade raised an eyebrow. "Didn't it happen during the First War? You sent plenty of students to the battlefield after rushing their graduation exams."
"Look at how many of my classmates are still alive now. Barely any of us made it."
She folded her arms. "Everyone knows what's coming. The smart ones are making sure their kids are prepared before it's too late."
The Hokage fell silent, his expression tightening. "She's not wrong," he admitted to himself, though he hated to do so.
"Back then was different," he said after a moment, trying to defend himself. "This time, things might not escalate to a full-scale war. If we defeat the Hidden Rain Village quickly, it might all blow over."
Tsunade gave him a skeptical look. "Do you actually believe that? Or are you just trying to convince yourself?"
"It's been twenty years since the First War," she continued. "Every major village has been quietly rebuilding and growing stronger. They're not satisfied with the current status quo. They want war to grab more resources and missions."
She crossed her arms and leaned forward. "Just look at what happened to Uzushiogakure. Three villages joined forces to wipe it out. Why? To get their sealing techniques and make better jinchūriki for their tailed beasts. They're gearing up for battle, plain and simple."
"And you think we'll be the exception because we 'value peace'? Sure, you've kept the warmongers in check here, but what about everywhere else? You know this is only the beginning."
The Third Hokage's face darkened. "You don't need to remind me about Uzushiogakure," he muttered.
Tsunade shrugged. "Then let's cut the pretense. You've already stationed elite squads at the borders to guard against other villages. You know what's coming."
She leaned back and smirked. "So why not let the kids graduate early? Give them a chance to gain some real experience before the chaos hits. Pair them with experienced jōnin and use this lull to strengthen them. Or are you going to deny that makes sense?"
The Hokage sighed heavily. "And if I say no?"
"Then I'll do it anyway," Tsunade said with a grin.
He shook his head. 'There's no stopping her.'
"Fine," he relented. "You can have your way—for now."
Tsunade grinned wider. "Thanks, old man! I knew you'd see reason."
Some things never change, the Third Hokage thought with a resigned sigh. And Tsunade is definitely one of them.
"I'll give you and Orochimaru two months to train these students."
"That's the absolute limit I can manage for you. During this time, the war with the Hidden Rain won't escalate into full-blown chaos yet."
"The early stages will mostly involve low-intensity skirmishes and intelligence gathering."
"But after those two months, both you and Orochimaru must head to the frontlines in the Land of Rain. Understood?"
"And if you refuse…" He narrowed his eyes. "I won't approve Uchiha Kaito and the others for early graduation."
It was clear the Hokage still had ways to keep things under control.
"Deal!" Tsunade said confidently. "With Kaito and the others' abilities, two months will be more than enough. By then, I'm sure they'll be capable of handling themselves."
She didn't argue further.
"Good," said the Hokage. "Then go. I'll issue the orders soon."
"I'll have the early graduation exams wrapped up in a few days," he added, waving her off.
"Got it. I'm off then!" Tsunade said with a grin.
As she left, she even took the time to close what was left of the destroyed door behind her.
It wasn't clear if she was being considerate or just mocking him. Either way, the Hokage's eye twitched at the sight of the broken half-door. He immediately summoned an ANBU to have it replaced.

Meanwhile, Tsunade wasted no time heading straight for Orochimaru.
Coincidentally, Jiraiya was there too.
"Yo! Orochimaru! Jiraiya! What's up?" Tsunade greeted loudly as she strolled into the room.
"Hm? What brings you here, Tsunade?" Orochimaru asked, raising a brow. He knew her too well—she wouldn't show up without a reason.
Jiraiya looked equally curious.
"I've got news," Tsunade said, jumping straight to the point. She explained the plan for Kaito, Nawaki, and the others to graduate early.
"I've already convinced the old man," she continued. "I'll be taking Kaito, Mikoto, Kushina, and Minato under my wing as their sensei. The goal is to prepare them for battle while the war is still in its early, less intense phase."
"And I got approval for you, too," she added with a sly grin. "The old man gave us two months."
"After that, we'll have to head to the Land of Rain for the frontlines."
"So, I came to let you know. Nawaki will be your responsibility."
She paused, then added, "I spoke with Granny and Lady Naori about it. They'll assign one Uzumaki prodigy and one Uchiha genius to your team as well. You good with that?"
Orochimaru sighed dramatically and rolled his eyes. "You've already made all the decisions and locked everything in. What's the point of asking me if I'm okay with it?"
Tsunade smirked. "Because you don't really have a choice!"
"Well, there you go." Orochimaru shrugged, clearly resigned. "Fine. Nawaki's no problem—we already discussed that. But as for the Uzumaki and Uchiha kids… they'll have to pass my test first."
"I don't just accept anyone as my student," he added with a sharp glint in his eyes.
"Test them all you want," Tsunade replied breezily. "They'll pass for sure. My Granny and Uchiha Naori wouldn't send anyone who'd disappoint you or me."
She had full confidence in their abilities. Thanks to Kaito's guidance and the training they'd received over the years, the new generation of Uzumaki, Uchiha, and Senju kids had all become exceptionally strong.
Even the ones who'd started off mediocre had grown immensely through the unique methods they'd been exposed to.
Those who were already prodigies had risen to near-legendary levels of talent.
Orochimaru raised an intrigued brow. "You're awfully confident in them."
He smiled faintly. "It's interesting… It seems the Senju, Uzumaki, and Uchiha are truly united now."
"Wonder what the Second Hokage would think if he knew these clans were allied like this."
Orochimaru's tone turned thoughtful, almost mischievous. "Maybe I'll revive him someday with Edo Tensei (Impure World Reincarnation) to ask him myself."
The idea amused him, though he hadn't yet perfected the technique.
"Too bad I haven't managed to get my hands on the full notes for Edo Tensei," he muttered to himself.
"Maybe I can get them through Danzo…" His eyes gleamed with ambition. "And I'll need the Spirit Transformation Technique as well."
"Both are tied to soul manipulation and resurrection… perfect for my research into immortality."
He sighed wistfully. "If only I could access all of the Second Hokage's forbidden research notes. Unfortunately, most of it is locked away in the village's archives."
He cast a sideways glance at Tsunade. 'If the Senju clan had kept those notes, I could've just taken them from her. That would've been much easier than dealing with the Hokage's vault.'
