Chapter 5: 5

Back Stabbed By Two Knives

Chapter Text

Seeing that Hader stopped breathing, Dager stood up straight and looked to his sister.

He was planning on coming to help her since she was not the fighting type.

But, seeing her kicking one of the muscular men in the crotch while they laid on the floor coughing and sneezing, he cleverly gave up on the idea.

He stretched himself and pulled out the daggers and throwing knifes stuck in Hader's body.

Thanks to the Ice Curse, there was almost no blood coming out of Hader whatsoever.

Towards the end of the battle, he strangely felt his potion digest, although he didn't really understand why.

As he cleaned the blades, he saw one muscly guy in the bar standing up.

It was the man who almost punched him while holding him by the collar.

His face was still slightly red, but also not really.

"That was quite a quick one, didn't even take ya half a minute to finish it."

The man's name was Shake.

He was the boss of an underground market.

He and Dager were drinking buddies.

They got close after Shake began owning Dager his life.

During his usual patrol around the alleys, Dager noticed a particularly suspicious group of guys.

In order to digest his hunter potion, he chose to tail them.

While doing so, he discovered that they were in hold of two guns.

This fact made Dager much more alarmed.

Soon, the four men entered a pub, which, in his knowledge, was also an entrance into the underground market.

He was there before, and he even sold some things Juny gave him to make connections.

Dager didn't have trouble pursuing the squad.

They seemed to have bribed quite a few of the men inside.

Dager saw the entire scene as he followed closely behind them.

After some time, a man that covered himself from head to toe came to the four men and brought them to a backdoor of the boss's hut.

Everything in Dager's brain clicked at that moment.

Remembering Juny's warning about not being reckless and acting on impulse, Dager fell into a dilemma.

But he soon came up with an idea.

Taking out a folded paper, he infused it with spirituality.

The paper shone with red light, but the strange symbol didn't disappear.

'Why didn't I do this immediately...'

Feeling disheartened, he stuffed the paper into his pocket and walked into the hut using the front entrance.

The hut had a few people inside.

Upon entering the boss's hut, a one on one purchases could be made.

This was in order to ensure secrecy.

But that was as far as a normal customer could go.

Looking at the people standing in front of different closed rooms, Dager walked as far inside as he could without raising suspicion.

He started eyeing the two bodyguards standing by the door.

There didn't seem anything strange about them, but Dager could instinctively tell.

They were bribed as well.

With a frown, he started to fidget slightly.

Dager knew he couldn't do anything about four guys with guns and bribed bodyguards while only having a dagger or two.

Beyonder or not, he was still only a sequence 9.

If not for the guns, he could take those guys down without much trouble, but he was still just a slightly stronger human.

Soon enough, he heard gunshots from behind the doors.

Everyone inside the boss's cabin immediately ran away, including the bodyguards.

Seeing everyone running towards the entrance, he clenched his teeth and leapt in the opposite direction.

He passed the bodyguards and tried to push the door open.

'Locked.'

Putting strength into his legs, Dager slammed his shoulder into the door.

The hinges immediately snapped and the door fell to the ground.

Behind the door was a study with two other rooms connecting to it.

The fight was still underway, Dager saw two men trying to land a punch and another two men trying to land a shot at a muscly man.

The man couldn't be over 30 years old, he wielded a gun, but was unable to take aim.

The man's right chest was bleeding and his breathing was haggard.

The two men with guns cast their eyes on Dager.

Dager's blood ran cold as the guns' barrels were now pointed at him.

With quick thinking, he jumped and rolled to the side, dodging the two subsequent gunshots.

Immediately, he took cover behind a sofa and, while crouched, moved towards the backdoor.

He didn't plan on fleeing, but it seemed logical to get close to the door, just in case.

Dager then jumped up and with a kick into the sofa, he hurled himself onto the attackers with guns.

Immediately, the two pulled the trigger, but Dager skillfully bent back and covered his head with his arms.

His hands immediately trembled as explosive pain spread into his very core.

But he, who has watched and almost experienced an actual explosion, didn't waver.

He stretched his hand out and punched one of the guys with guns.

The gun flew out of his grasp and landed on the floor.

But the attacker didn't panic and also threw a punch.

Seeing the other guy repositioning the gun's barrel, Dager flipped his body and once again rolled.

From the corner of his eye, he caught a glance of the underground market's boss.

His movement was turning slow as the bleeding from his right chest kept intensifying.

He was clearly on the defensive, and soon, he wouldn't even be able to keep that up.

Dager bit his lip and launched his body towards the ground.

He supported his upper body with his trembling hands and kicked at the attacker's ankles.

The man without a pistol immediately collapsed after losing his balance.

The second man thought, used Dager's slowed movement and took aim, firing another shot.

Reacting as fast as he could, Dager twisted his legs and moved his upper body out of the bullet's course.

The bullet hit his left calve, causing his stability to suffer.

Dager forced himself to his feet, pulling out his daggers and lunging at the fallen man.

The second man pulled the trigger again, but no bullet came out.

With a frown, he didn't immediately reload and instead moved attack Dager with his own knife.

Dager slashed at the lying man's throat.

The fallen man thought, wasn't much slower.

He protected his vital points with his forearm, intercepting the daggers path.

In a hurry, Dager kicked the ground and jumped away from the two men.

Just then, the place he just stood at was stabbed with a silver knife.

Watching one man get up and the other reload his gun, Dager understood the severity of the situation.

His body trembled.

'I should have listened to Juny and not be reckless...'

As this thought crossed his mind, he couldn't help but sneer.

Turning his body sideways, he rushed at the three fighting men not too far away.

The men have long noticed that someone intervened with the fight, but they chose to ignore it.

One couldn't dare to care and two simply thought that it would be troublesome.

Seeing the intruder rush at them, the two assaulters flinched slightly.

The one closer to Dager moved his feet and blocked Dager's Dagger with his own.

The man then tilted his body to dodge the slash of the second dagger.

But Dager didn't slash at the man.

He threw his dagger at the second assaulter.

The man was too invested in the fight that he didn't manage to react in time.

The perfectly thrown dagger stabbed into his neck, stopping any subsequent screams of pain.

Dager flipped his body to the side and dodged another fired bullet.

He saw the boss, who couldn't be older than 30, look at him in disbelief while trembling.

Dager chose to ignore him as another set of shots rung out.

Both he and the boss jumped away, but neither of them dodged the bullets fully.

Dager's left wrist was hit, he felt his bones shattering with a heart wrenching sound.

The boss's right thigh was hit, making him grunt in pain.

Holding his last dagger in his right hand he saw the living assaulter without a gun darting to the boss.

Dager watched the two guns from the corner of his eye and rushed at the assaulting man from behind.

Another shot rang out.

Dager forcefully kicked his leg to trip himself, successfully dodging the shot aimed at him.

Another second bang rang out and Dager froze.

From the corner of his eye, he saw the gun barrel.

It wasn't just one, both gun barrels were pointing in his direction.

Seeing the bullet, his instincts kicked in and he stood up straight, taking the hit head on.

The bullet missed his entire upper body as the attacker didn't expect him to stand up.

His abdomen tore and he immediately felt something making its way up his throat.

He pushed the boiling blood back down as he continued his approach.

The boss was already having a hard time pushing the assaulter's blade away.

In one second, the enemy's dagger was thrusted at his throat and the next the enemy's entire body was being thrown back with a slightly longer dagger piercing his left chest.

Dager held the assaulter's vest and yanked back while stabbing the dagger in his right hand diagonally into the assaulter's back.

Just when he succeeded with his second kill, his head turned.

Two shots sounded.

Two bullets appeared in Dager's eyes.

One aiming at him and one aiming at the boss.

The bullets were too fast to dodge.

Dager was terrified at the approaching death, but he didn't close his eyes.

Just when the bullet was about to engrave itself into his forehead, it stopped.

"For all that's holy! What did I tell you?"

The two bullets lit up in Violet-black flame as a voice rang through the room.

The high-pitched voice made Dager smile.

Before the two men with guns could react, their vision suddenly flipped.

The ground was up as they saw their headless bodies splashing blood like a fountain.

A little girl with a strange but stylish clothes stood in between them.

She held a long sword made out of Violet-Black flame.

In her other hand was a burning fire of the same mystical color that seemed to house the galaxies.

Seeing this sight, their vision turned black.

Dager breathed a deep sigh of relief.

He chuckled as his grip around the dagger loosened.

As the dry laugh left his mouth his body hunched forward and crimson blood gushed out.

"For f*ck's sake!"

The little girl roared and lunched forward, supporting his body.

"What the hell are you laughing at?! You complete moron!"

Amongst the yelling, Juny pulled out a clean white paper from her leather bag.

She tore open Dager's shirt, causing the buttons to fly in all directions, and pressed the shining paper on the gunshot wound.

The illumination stopped and Dager felt his pain ease.

"How many bloody times did I tell you not to take risks?! Really!"

Even as his pain went away, he felt his headache grow stronger.

"You think activating the Find Enchantment and rushing in to take action is acceptable?"

"You wanna know how close that bullet was to your brain? Do you want me to tell you!?"

"Ten f*cking centimeters! That bullet was ten centimeters away from your idiotic scull! And you have the nerve to laugh?!"

Dager's entire body shook at the reawakened memory of life flashing before his eyes.

Seeing the young man being scolded by a little girl, the weakened boss tried to speak.

"Excuse me, could you be a bit nicer to the-"

"You shut up old man! I'll deal with you in a second!"

'O-old? I'm only 27...'

The startled boss slowly lowered his outstretched hand.

Immediately as he did so, he let out another pain filled groan.

He then heard quick and angered stomping in his direction.

"Seriously! I just told you I'd deal with you in a second!"

The eyes he instinctively closed fluttered open as the little girl stood before him with a glowing paper in hand.

Crouching down, Juny pressed the Recovery Enchantment onto the bosses right chest.

Her cheeks were red and her face was clearly contorted.

The boss's pain quickly disappeared.

Dumbfounded, he looked at the angry child before him.

"What? You're a Beyonder too, why are you so surprised?"

Juny raised an eyebrow at the man's reaction.

"He's a Beyonder?"

Juny glared at Dager who immediately shrank back and shut his mouth.

"Of course! Beyonder's aren't as rare as you think. Even a seemingly normal gang has three. Why wouldn't an underground market's boss be one? Although he is only sequence 9."

Dager nodded lightly, afraid to reignite Juny's rage and hear another round of nagging.

'She's like an overprotective mother...'

"You just thought of something inappropriate, didn't you?"

Dager jumped up and stared at Juny in fear.

Seeing him, Juny couldn't help but click her tongue.

"I wouldn't nag you if you weren't an idiot."

For some reason, that sentence stabbed through Dager like a knife, which was ironic, considering the fight that just took place.

Juny turned to the still healing man before her.

"I caught two bulky guys by the entrance door, they were stopping anyone from entering."

The boss looked at the little girl who spoke in strangely mature tone and nodded.

"I'll see through with the purging."

At that moment Dager intervened.

"When I was tailing them here, I saw that they were being guided by at least 5 different people from the market. I'm sure they were in on it too."

Just as the boss was about to answer, he felt as if a devil has directly descended right before him.

"Tailing?"

Dager's whole body trembled at the pressure created by pure rage.

"You, 'tailed' them?"

"You, 'tailed' four muscular men with two guns and thought that letting me know mere seconds before deciding to fight them was the right play?"

Dager instinctively took a step back. He knew he couldn't escape from the nagging anymore.

"H-How did you know I saw the guns?"

He couldn't help but question and... he immediately knew he messed up.

"YOU SAW THE GUNS AND STILL TAILED THEM?!"

Dager shuddered at the sight of an angry beast walking towards him.

His feet slipped and he began falling down.

Before he even managed to descend a few centimeters, a small hand grabbed his collar, holding him in midair.

Staring into Juny's eyes, the scene of a deadly bullet seemed to overlap with Juny's eyes.

Before anything could happen a different voice sounded out.

"I'm here! Huff! Huff!"

Everything came to a pause.

Dager looked at his sister Ellone with newfound love.

Ellone quickly scanned the scene and immediately felt that she either take's Juny's side or suffers the nagging with Dager.

Just as she was about to speak and sacrifice her brother, a calm voice interrupted her thoughts.

"Ellone, check the bodies. And Dager, we'll have a talk later, you're grounded for a week and I'm taking those daggers away."

Not letting Dager voice out his complaints, Juny continued.

"Find the shirt's buttons and use the Enchantment. Also, write down the information about the bribed men you saw before you return."

She placed Dager on his feet before handing him a paper with a symbol in Runic Language.

She then turned to the boss who has already stood up.

"My apologies for the yelling, it's hard to control my emotions at this age."

The boss just looked at the girl who couldn't be over 10 and nodded.

'Yes. Well, that's true, but why are you speaking like an adult stuck in a child's body?'

Thoughtfully, he looked at the young man who just saved his life.

The two locked eyes and the teenager, as if reading his mind, shook his head with great strength.

Catching on, the boss looked at back at the girl.

"No, I understand, how can I pay you back for today?"

The girl looked around and said.

"I'll give you some Recovery Enchantments, since there's no need to buy new stuff and waste money. Then we'll wait for Dager's report and see if you can identify anyone."

"We'll then do some questioning, since I'm already drenched, I might at least take a swim and dive."

The boss was once again amazed at the girl's analysis and manner of speech.

"That's precisely what I planned to do anyway."

He saw the girl look at him.

"Good, try not to kill them immediately if you figure it out without me around, uh. How much do you know about spirit channeling?"

Before the boss opened his mouth the girl flinched.

"Oh! That reminds me, Ellone, would you be so kind as to prepare a spirit channeling ritual on one of those trashes?"

The boss looked to the newly arrived girl who was called Ellone and saw her nod.

"Right away!"

"Thanks."

The little girl looked back at him.

Remembering the girl's question, he spoke truthfully.

"Very little, I'm sure you can tell that I'm not very educated when it comes to Mysticism."

The girl nodded a few times before sighing.

"I'll lend you a book for beginning Mysticism..."

The boss could sense displeasure in the girl's voice.

Looking up into his eyes, the girl explained herself.

"I'm sorry, I am not a good teacher, but I can still answer questions if you have any while reading."

'Teacher? You? To me? What?'

The boss's brain was lagging but he acknowledged the girl.

"That's all right, I enjoy reading..."

It was a lie, but a painless one, to make everyone more comfortable.

The girl hummed and introduced.

"Alright then, sir. We'll meet again I presume, so let me make the introductions."

"My name is Juny I am a Sequence 7, that boy is Dager a Sequence 9 Hunter and that young lady is Ellone a Sequence 9 Apothecary."

The boss didn't ask why she didn't say the name of her Sequence.

"My name's Shake. I'm a Sequence 9 Lawyer."

After that, they worked together many times, and they also learned something about the instigator of Shake's murder.

Strangely enough, it pointed to The Crimson Brotherhood gang and their backer.

...

Inside the Bloody Casino, by a table a group was playing Texas Hold'em.

A rather slim but greatly respected man was in hold of most of the playing chips.

He was chatting and laughing with the other men, seemingly enjoying himself.

Everyone by the table laughed with him, even though they were losing, they didn't wish to anger the man.

Leyah was quite well known for his terrible temper.

While they were in the middle of another game, a small hand tugged at the slim Layeh's coat.

His head flipped angrily to the side before sneering.

"Who let a kid in here? Hey, get the bounce-"

"Sir, why do you have cards hidden in your sleeves?"

The owner of the little hand interrupted him and asked, in a very innocent voice.

Leyah's eye twitched and his smile collapsed.

Everyone around them immediately turned silent.

"What did you say you little sh*t?"

His body whipped around and grabbed the small child by the collar.

"Kuak!"

The child made a choking sound and kicked her legs in the air.

The people became alert. They knew that Leyah was a terrible man, so they also knew that he wouldn't spare a child.

"I- I asked why the s-sir's sleeves have cards in them.. Kugh!"

The small kid repeated herself only to be grabbed directly by the throat.

Many adults by the tables stood up from their tables.

There were quite a few of people around who wouldn't stand for violence against children.

Sure, the child might be asking a messed up question, but it's still just a child.

"You can't accuse me of something f*cked up like that!"

He tightened his grip and brought the child closer to his face.

"Leyah! She's just a kid, let her go!"

The small child grabbed at Leyah's arm with one of her hands, tears welling up in her eyes from the pain.

She touched his hand and slid her fingers into his sleeve, pulling out an ace.

Everyone froze upon seeing that and Leyah'f face turned bright red.

He tightened his grip even further but...

The girl didn't groan anymore and simply smiled.

"You should've let me go Leyah."

"I'm not just a kid."

Her voice was deep and clean, as if she wasn't being choked.

Leyah's spiritual intuition stirred.

He tried to let go of the kid but his hand froze.

That is not an analogy. His entire arm began to freeze at a rapid speed.

Before he managed to react, the child suddenly lifted a long steel dagger with her other small hand.

Noone was fast enough to react as this child slashed at Leyah's neck.

There was no resistance whatsoever. The cut was clean and quick.

Juny naturally dropped to the ground in coordination with Leyah's head.

She slit the Enchanted knife back into her sleeve and bent over to pick up the staring head.

Leyah's head wore a completely terrified and confused expression, it was quite unpleasant to look at.

Picking the head and grabbing the dropped body by the back of its collar, Juny looked around.

Seeing everyone still staring blankly, she spoke in an innocent child's tone.

"Unfortunately, mister Leyah won't be able to come back to play cards ever again. You can do something with those chips though."

Saying that and pointing to the mountains of chips still lying on the table, she started walking away.

She was walking calmly, very calmly.

she wore an extremely happy expression.

'Being a child is great!'

...

Dager bent over and picked Hader's newly formed Beyonder Characteristic.

Seeing this, Shake spoke to the two siblings.

"Do you think miss Juny will be able to get the Sequence 8 Barbarian?"

"Miss? She wouldn't like hearing you call her that."

Ellone pointed out Shake's mistake.

Shaking his head, Dager filled her dear sister in.

"Better adressing her like that than accidentally calling her a child."

Looking at his brother thoughtfully, she nodded and turned to answer Shake.

"She probably will, although she might have some trouble. After all, she will be going after a Sequence 8 completely alone. We were two and technically even had the entire bar backing us up."

Hearing this, Dager frowned.

"No, no. Ellone you're thinking about it in the wrong way."

As Ellone turned to him, Dager continued.

"She's completely different from us. I'm not talking about just the Sequences. She has much more knowledge and has done a lot more observations than us, she's also way too calculating."

"I'll guess she finished in about the same amount of time as us and then quickly fled."

Before anyone reacted to his comment, he added.

"I mean, it took us about 30 minutes to bait and kill Hader, Juny must've finished in like 25 minutes, right?"

Hearing the two siblings, Shake concluded.

"So no matter what, she succeeded, right?"

Hearing Shake, the duo snapped at him.

"Don't jinx it!"

Shake flinched before becoming puzzled.

"Jinx?"

The duo nodded and Ellone explained.

"That's what Juny said, if we definitely make good predictions or conclusions, the opposite is more likely to happen."

Listening to his sister, Dager nodded.

"That's why she told us to never be too confident and say stuff like: 'We got this.' or 'nothing can go wrong.'"

Seeing how serious the two siblings were, he couldn't help but ask.

"And you believe that?"

Dager and Ellone shared looks before answering Shake's question.

"Having too much self-doubt is just as bad as being overconfident. She that instead of relying on feelings, we should simply make preparations until we are satisfied, but to never be too satisfied."

Ellone quoted Juny with a scholarly vibe.

Dager hummed in agreement and ended the speech.

"Yes. She says that there'll always be a room for errors so we should make room for any mistakes."

Feeling strange, Shake couldn't help but point out.

"That last saying doesn't sound right..."

The older teenager went quiet for a second before looking at Shake and nodding.

"I made the last one up."

'Smack!'

"Ow!"

Seeing his brother rub the back of his head in pain Ellone, the cause of that pain, sighed.

"Let's move to the gang's hideout to find Chasm, I just hope the fight is not over yet."

Exhaling lightly, Dager handed the Beyonder Characteristic to Shake.

"Hold onto it until we're done."

Accepting the strange shell, Shake nodded as he watched the two run away.

They found quite a lot of cash on Hader, and so, they payed the bartender extra for the trouble.

Shake looked at the dead body below him and moved to do the clean-up.

...

'Cough!'

"Fuck!"

Juny couldn't help but curse out loud as the blood wouldn't stop flowing out of her mouth.

She instinctively knew that no amount of Recovery Enchantments could heal her.

That was because she was currently experiencing backlash, and there was no way to heal backlash until it was done.

From what she knew, the backlash she was currently experiencing wouldn't end until a few hours later.

She no longer felt too much pain, but the blood loss did make her feel lightheaded.

'Gods! I feel like I've become Cale!'

She glanced around the bloody room before glaring at the figure before her.Juny has already checked with her Material Vision, this man was still a Sequence 7, but he was way too strong.

And this maniac wasn't only strong, he was also half-mad.

Juny didn't know exactly what he did, but his strength was many times greater than it should be.

But after a clearer look, Juny saw that he held an Ancient Artifact in his possession.

'This f*cking piece of complete sh*t killed his entire gang the second things seemed to be going in the wrong direction!'

Juny was winning quite drastically even while facing the entire gang.

With the amount of preparations she made, she would even be able to hit and run a demigod.

It was thanks to this that the bloody explosion that took place inside the hideout didn't mark her end.

She used a special Enchantment she found in the Dimensional Space to boost her ability.

Or, more accurately, it was an Enchantment using Sorcery Runes that allowed her to use her abilities beyond the limit for a short amount of time in exchange for a certain penalty.

The penalty was painful and very annoying.

It crushed her insides repeatedly, making her constantly throw up blood.

It was excruciating at first, but after getting used to it, she found the constant coughing much more of a bother.

She stood up, her mouth continued to leak blood.

The maniac Chasm kept laughing while surrounded by his subordinates's blown up bodies.

'Maybe it has something to do with The Hanged Man pathway?"

Coming up with something unpleasant, Juny created a Violet-black sword in her hand.

She also took out two throwing knifes with the Ice and Blindness Curses.

Normally, she would've already ran away, but her instincts were screaming and pleading with her to, under no circumstances, open the entrance into the Dimensional Space.

And she trusted her instincts more than even herself.

She also felt a bad premonition that if she moved outside a certain range while drenched in blood, she would deeply regret it.

With those options crossed out, attacking was one of the only alternatives left.

As she took a step, the maniac suddenly stopped laughing.

"Huh? You're alive? How is that..."

Ignoring his mumbling. Juny threw herself to his left and slashed.

Feeling the resistance of having her sword blocked, Juny immediately threw the Ice Cursed knife.

The knife hit, but no frost spread.

"Cough!"

Juny lost her balance and was quickly pushed back.

Noting that the Ice Curse was useless, Juny wiped her mouth and rushed back at Chasm.

Just as Chasm easily dodged the strike, the Violet black sword suddenly split into 5 small knifes, and while being enveloped by another layer of Galaxy flame, they flew at him by themselves.

His eyes widened but he still managed to maneuver himself out of their trajectory.

Moving his gaze away from the knifes, his spiritual intuition stirred.

He instinctively protected his vital points.

Strangely enough, the flying knifes changed course midway.

Feeling the pain of having his arms and body pierced, Chasm smirked.

A took out a glass heart.

This was not just any glass decoration, it was beating. The glass heart was beating after having consumed many lives.

Synchronized with the beating, Chasm's wounds immediately disappeared.

Not batting an eye, Juny reconstructed her sword and rushed at Chasm with wide strides.

'Small wounds don't affect him, I need to go for the heart or neck.'

Ignoring her boiling insides, she spit out some blood and dodged a spear made out of fire.

Rolling to the side, she watched through the corner of her eye as three blazing ravens made their way towards her.

Immediately, she moved her foot forward and generated force, stopping her advance.

Then, she threw the Blindness Curse at Chasm and swung her sword with three consecutive strikes, destroying the Ravens.

She saw as the Cursed knife hit Chasm's stomach, but he didn't even flinch.

Instead, Black smoke came out of the knife and the wound quickly healed.

'Does this render all Curses useless? He also doesn't care about defense...'

Juny continued to be on the move, dodging blazing Raves and spears made out of fire.

Slashing vertically, Juny's throat bubbled and another round of blood poured out.

But Juny, honestly, couldn't care less.

She took out another knife and threw it at the man's right shoulder.

Once again, the man showed no sign of dodging the knife.

The knife hit the designated place, and immediately, Chasm's face contorted.

The wound began emanating holy-white light and began burning at Chasm's flesh.

'Bingo! All praise preparations!'

Taking the split second of distraction, Juny closed the distance and slashed at the man's throat.

As she did so, her heart throbbed.

Chasm's face shifted and his mouth, literally, tore open into a smile.

His teeth were unbelievably sharp and, well, they grew all the way to his throat.

Chasm's mouth opened in a way that shouldn't be possible and a pure-black tongue shot out.

Juny immediately disassembled the sword and created a protective wall instead.

'Bang!'

She didn't take the hit directly, but Juny still flew back a few meters.

With a click of her tongue, she Solidified the longsword and stabbed it into the ground.

She placed her feet on the ground and emptied the blood that she suppressed during her advance.

Seeing another round of blazing Ravens, Juny held the sword with both hands and changed the longsword into a greatsword.

She used the large blade to destroy all ravens in one slash.

Looking at Chasm, Juny frowned.

He was condensing a fireball while creating more ravens.

'Isn't this too much of a cheat? I'm already running low on spirituality!'

Even though she was inwardly complaining, her feet moved to the side and dodged the direct hit of another Raven.

She knew that this strength of his came from the beating glass heart, but he seemed quite protective of it.

Biting her lip, Juny hid her small body behind the blade as a compressed fireball made its way towards her.

Feeling the pressure from the impact, another large amount of blood spewed from her mouth.

'This is bullsh*t!'

With a curse, the greatsword disappeared and was replaced by two longswords.

Maybe it was because of the extreme and repetitive pain, but Juny felt incredibly aggravated.

'No, calm down, making clouded judgements is what he wants. Calm down, calm down.'

Repeating to herself, Juny used Space Manipulation and pulled more knifes out from underneath her coat.

She threw them in sync with her own advancement.

Juny dispelled all Revens and dodged the compressed fireballs.

Thanks to the fact that Chasm was clearly half-mad, his attack patterns were quite simple.

Juny jumped and descended, sometimes using Space Manipulation to get her body out of danger.

She choked out another round of clumping blood and moved closer to the maniac.

She slashed at his neck once again.

Blocking the disgusting and long tongue with one sword, she cut with the other.

As she felt her sword hit, an indescribable screech rang throughout the hideout.

Juny's head went numb and her vision immediately went dark.

Without even having the time to think about it, she stabbed herself with a knife.

Immediately, the blur dissipated and the insensitivity was replaced by pure agony.

Looking at the tongue that pierced her right chest and the forearm stuck in her stomach, Juny didn't hesitate.

She grabbed the back of her collar with Manipulation and yanked herself back so hard she choked.

Chasm's body parts left her torso as she landed onto the ground.

She was suffering and absolutely exhausted.

Her every breath was accompanied by tormenting coughs.

But even so, Juny didn't miss a beat.

She put strength into her upper body and leapt up, landing on her legs.

She staggered, but still pulled out a small paper.

Infusing it, the symbol glowed red, blending in together with the surroundings.

She placed it firmly to her open stomach and began running again.

While zigzagging around, she pulled out the knife in her left arm.

It had the Runic symbol for Courage on it.

Spitting on the ground, she stuffed the knife back into her coat.

Just then, her eyes caught a glimpse something as they flickered.

Gulping her disapproval, she rushed at Chasm with her sword.

Bloody tears were streaming down her face, but she didn't do anything about it.

Getting closer to Chasm, she once again began to use Space Manipulation.

She dodged all Ravens and any thrown spears.

Juny continued to stay inside Chasm's field of vision.

Her skin burned slightly with each close hit, but she didn't back away too far, staying in a certain range.

She slashed and cut, coughing large amounts of blood in the process.

She could tell that the Enchantment Recovery she used wasn't able to heal the hole in her stomach properly, but she didn't back down.

All throughout this, she continued using her Space Manipulation.

It didn't take long, her legs started shaking and her movements became sluggish.

Her insides burned and her skin ripped.

Blood filled her blurry vision and her throat began to tear.

She was in pain, in so much pain, but she never stopped using Space Manipulation.

Chasm grinned, his tongue lunged out to finish that annoying little pest.

He threw the condensed fire in his hands and watched as the pest struggled to move her shaking body away.

He laughed until he couldn't.

He froze as his eyes moved down.

Two blades were now coming out of his left chest.

He was about to screech but instead he screamed in pain as the blades twisted themselves.

Before he even registered the holy flames inside his wound, his hair was pulled back with great strength.

Unable to make another sound, his stretching neck exploded.

A fist wearing beautiful leather gloves with embedded metal plates pierced through his throat.

Holy light shone where the leather touched.

He tried to scream but he had no voice.

Instead, his head and body fell limply to the floor, his back stabbed by two knives.
