Chapter 14: 14
Happy Birthday
Chapter Text
Darmine watched as the two siblings kneeled, their faces either pale white of light-blue.
She gently shook her head and looked at Juny, who stood before the two siblings.
Darmine didn't need much more to understand the situation.
'She found out... Probably through Degster.'
The cat heaved a sigh before gently licking her paw.
Juny 's face was red.
It was unknown if it was because of anger or embarrassment.
"You can't just go around recruiting people left and right! And absolutely not without my permission."
The two siblings wore defeated expressions.
"Yes Ma'am."
Juny gritted her teeth.
"And don't call me that!"
Dager jumped but kept his head to the ground.
Heaving a sigh, Juny massaged her temples.
"Fine, get up."
Ellone and Dager didn't give her time to take it back as they jumped up to their feet.
"I have things I need to tell you, call for Airina, she should hear it."
Ellone nodded and took the Spell Scrolls Juny offered.
After gently ripping it, she disappeared.
Juny's gaze then moved to Mariel.
Since a while ago, she's been looking at a faraway wall and not daring to make eye contact.
"Dager."
Dager followed her gaze and stiffened.
"Did you do what I think you did?"
Juny watched while Dager took a step away from her and Mariel looked at her with a strange smile.
"I'm the Instructor."
Juny slapped her forehead.
She then gave Dager a serious stare.
"She's been here for a little more than a day. How is she already part of the organization?"
Dager looked away from her, suddenly gaining great interest in the white wall.
"I... am good at recruiting?"
Juny wore an exasperated look, when her Space Awareness suddenly activated.
Juny looked forward to where the two figures appeared.
Airina looked around slowly before finding a place to sit in.
Ellone didn't follow her and instead moved behind Juny.
Feeling glad that everyone was present, Juny explained her findings.
She talked about the organization backing Count Hebrald and the danger in the attic.
Juny also mentioned the number of Beyonders underground.
The place was silent for a few seconds.
While everyone was in thought, Juny continued.
"If we are to attack, I'd do it while the number of enemies remains unchanged."
After seeing them once again paying attention to her words Juny continued.
"Airina and her mother will be in charge of killing Count Hebrald. If anything unexpected is to happen, I will intervene."
Airina nodded in understanding.
"I'll take on the Beyonders underground with Dager and Degster. After using Space Isolation, I will need Ellone and Mariel will use the time to free the people inside. Natia will be waiting for you outside."
Noticing everyone's agreement, Juny looked at Darmine.
"Have you found anything yet?"
Darmine's body lifted as she sat up, her back weirdly straight.
"I have."
Hearing the cat speak, everyone's attention turned to her.
"That Count never goes into the attic or the basement. He actually seems very scared of the two places."
Juny nodded lightly.
"Any particularly good time you'd recommend?"
Darmine was silent, in thought, for a moment.
"Around five in the afternoon. All the Beyonders are underground and the Count stays inside his room at all times. Nobody will notice you're fighting as long as you use the Place Isolation."
Juny immediately nodded and looked at Airina.
"I'll make you a Spell Scroll."
"Thank you."
Airina bowed her head slightly in gratitude.
Juny watched Airina fall silent as if she was in a daze.
Juny nodded before adding.
"Of course, you have to tell your mother this."
Airina's head practically whipped upwards.
After giving her a supportive look, Juny turned to Mariel and Ellone.
"You have to be as fast as possible. I'll give you plenty Recovery and Strengthen Enchantments. I'm not sure how long I can Isolate so many Beyonders while fighting."
Mariel's head tilted down in acknowledgment.
Ellone, on the other hand, gave Juny a stare.
"When are we doing it?"
Juny fell quiet while Darmine looked around.
"How about this Saturday? It's soon enough and it's iconic."
As she spoke, Tarkel wore a confused face.
'Where did a cat learn to speak like that? Iconic?'
Juny was silent for a moment before nodding.
"That works."
Dager's brows lightly furrowed.
"Can you meet such deadline? There will be a lot of things you need to make..."
Giving Dager a glance, Juny sighed.
"I did it once, I'll do it again. Don't worry, I have many Recovery Enchantments in the storage. You know... because you keep destroying your clothes?"
Dager flinched and his eyes moved away in a hurry, once again admiring the plain wall.
Ellone also seemed as if she had things to say, but hearing Juny's retort, she kept silent.
Juny lightly glanced at Darmine.
Seeing this, the cat nodded before jumping down.
"I'll go keep an eye out."
"Thanks."
Juny showed her appreciation for the Scout Patrol Leader.
The meeting then came to an end and Juny found herself once again being extremely busy.
...
Finishing up the Spell Scroll Juny couldn't help but grumble.
"Why did I accepted the deadline again? Do I just secretly hate sleep?"
Juny found herself being slightly too busy and couldn't find the time to even eat as she made one Enchantment after another.
'Sharing is caring and caring digests my potion~'
Feeling her insides melt together and her mind clearing, Juny found herself liking being tired.
'I can now work way more efficiently. Both my mastery in making Spell Scrolls and my spiritual recovery have greatly increased.'
Juny gently rubbed the lizard-like scales on her face before reaching for another paper.
'I'll truly be done by Saturday morning. What date is Saturday again?'
Juny suddenly felt curious.
Juny's hands stopped as she slowly stretched.
'Welp, I haven't been outside for a while. Gotta get some food, so I might as well check.'
After getting up, Juny walked out of the Dimensional Space.
Upon stepping outside, Juny's eyes immediately headed towards the window.
'About 7 pm? Dinner time!'
Giving herself a smile, Juny left the room and made her way down.
Seeing her enter, the four sitting around the table looked up.
Tarkel immediately flashed a smile.
"Are you eating with us?"
After returning the smile, Juny sat down.
"Sure, I just chose to take a break and it turned out to be time for dinner."
Ellone rolled her eyes at her answer but didn't speak her mind.
Dager slowly stood up and went to fetch Juny's portion from the kitchen.
After thanking for the appealing food, Juny casually asked.
"What's the date today?"
The two siblings froze at the strange question while Tarkel beamed.
"It's Thursday! 21st of March."
Juny gently nodded before freezing.
"Saturday is the 23rd of March? What a nice number..."
Juny's hand shook while saying that, but she naturally changed the subject.
She finished the dinner at the usual pace and then stood up.
Dager looked at her walking away and asked.
"What's the 23rd of March?"
Juny didn't stop walking and instead gave him a wave of her hand.
"I just thought it was a symmetrical number, that's all."
And with that, Juny disappeared.
...
The golden eyes shimmered in the dark.
The small black body faded into the darkness as it chased behind a man.
The man had a muscular statue and was walking towards a Count Hebrald's mansion.
It was none other than the Sequence 6 Flegry.
Darmine observed his every action with great precision.
Soon enough, her body shrunk down and her pupils greatly dialed, making her yellow irises almost black.
A drunk man with a knife in hand suddenly entered the alley and rushed at Flegry.
Flegry frowned in annoyance but didn't react and continued walking.
The alcoholic with the knife rushed past him as if his target was never Flegry to begin with.
Darmine caught this point and continued her pursuit.
The alcoholic stopped after a while and looked back.
He walked away soon enough.
He walked for a while more before going inside a particular bar.
He walked by the bartender and into a room numbered 2.
Seeing a rather tall man siting on the couch and a lady standing by a seat, the man saluted.
Soon after, the alcoholic once again left the bar.
Degster looked at the closed door before turning to Natia.
"What do you think?"
Natia was silent for a moment before answering.
"I think it's very similar to the abilities of Baron of Corruption's Distortion."
Degster nodded.
"Let's not jump to conclusions and just report our findings. Darmine should be monitoring Flegry, so Juny will be able to make her own conclusion."
Natia gave a sign of acknowledgment before, too, walking out of the room.
...
"Changing intensions without any actions... Yep, sounds like a Baron of Corruption. This also fits that he's a Sequence 6."
Juny drew a Runic symbol whilst analyzing.
'Honestly though, being a leader of an organization is not bad. I don't have to do the troublesome...'
"..."
'Who am I kidding. I am doing the most troublesome things! I made over 50 Scrolls and over 70 Enchantments! My hands are dying!'
Complaining inwardly, Juny sipped a Spiritual recovery medicine from Ellone.
'I have plenty of ways to fight a Baron of Corruption. This will be interesting.'
Juny closed her eyes and pulled out another paper.
Her arms were covered in lizard-like scales, but Juny was already used to it.
...
"Ugh, this job is killing me!"
The bearded man almost screamed.
The other four men did not react as, by now, they were already very used to his complaints.
"All we do all day is stand around guarding the good for nothings! Not to mention those f*ckers never stop their pleading and crying! It's infuriating!"
In anger, the bearded man kicked into the iron cage, making a loud ringing noise spread throughout the hall.
"Shut up!"
One of the other four man, one with dark blue eyes, finally screamed.
He was covering his ears with a frown.
"You're making this bad day even worse!"
"Huh? What did you say?!"
The bearded man angrily creamed back.
The other three just watched in disinterest.
The blue-eyed man turned red as a small falling rock hit his head.
"F*ck you! Do you think you're the only one who's suffering down here! You're making me angry just by existing!"
The bearded man stomped closer to the blue-eyed man.
"Why do you think the opinion of a weakling like you matters, huh?! Ow!"
Another falling rock fell straight onto his head.
"What's with the f*cking ceiling now?"
He immediately cursed the ceiling out, but didn't bother by it further.
The two were at each other's throats, when suddenly they saw a figure.
He was a tall and muscly man walking down the empty hall and towards them.
The bearded and the blue-eyed men first tensed like the other three before relaxing.
They felt as if they were meeting an old friend of theirs.
One of the other three men stepped out.
"You! State your name!"
The bearded man looked at him with a warped expression.
The bearded man looked at him with a warped expression.
"Shut up! You losers were keeping quiet this entire time, don't start now."
The man was confused.
"What nonsense are you spouting? There's an ene-"
"He's right, f*ck off."
The blue-eyed man stepped up, showing his good will towards the muscly man walking their way.
Just then, another two silhouettes appeared behind the muscly man.
The three out of five men are on guard, but the bearded and blue-eyed men give them a smile.
The middle, muscly man spoke.
"Wow, how terrible. You actually have to stay here all day?"
His tone was as if he was talking to his good friends.
The bearded man scoffed.
"Yea, it's a nightmare."
The blue-eyed man gave him a look before turning to the other three.
"It's especially bad because my company sucks."
The middle muscly man nodded.
"Wanna get out of here? I'm on my way to kill those three anyway."
The three men flinched before pulling out their weapons.
But before they could speak or even attack, they saw the bearded and blue-eyed men take out their own weapons and turn to them.
"Why not! I've been waiting for a chance to let my nerves loose."
"Haha! Sounds very pleasing."
The other three were confused.
"W-What are you guys talking about- ugh!"
The bearded and blue-eyed men leapt forward.
Dager watched this with an uncertain expression.
His eyes turned to the muscly man next to him.
The man gave him a look before laughing.
"Juny promised I would get the Beyonder characteristic from that Baron of Corruption. And since I had nothing better to do, why not join in?"
Shake gave a deep laugh before lunging forward to join the two men, whom he bribed with Bribe-Charm not too long ago.
Dager looked at Degster who also seemed kind of dazed.
He had 'You can do that?' Written all over his face.
Dager shook off his discomfort and jumped to join the fight.
Soon enough, Degster was the only one left behind while the others battled.
He gulped and looked down at his hand.
It had goosebumps.
"I'm glad I'm on her good side..."
Degster sighed and activated his Psychic Piercing.
...
"These papers never end! Why do I have to do it? I am a Count! I should hire someone to do these."
Count Hebrald slammed his hands flat on the table in extreme anger.
"It'a all because those- it's because they want to keep the place isolated! Ptoey! It's my house!"
Even through his irritation, Count Hebrald continued his scribbling.
He heard a light knock on the window.
He jumped to his feet and looked out.
'Nothing...'
After a few seconds, Count Hebrald snorted.
"Must've been the wind."
With quick steps, Count Hebrald walked over to the window and drew the curtains completely shut.
Not even a speck of sunlight would pass through.
Upon doing this, Count Hebrald turned around and went back to his desk.
Just then, he heard a light tearing sound.
Startled, his head whipped to the side.
There, he saw two silhouettes.
He didn't know where they came from, but he knew who they were.
The younger lady had a long but straight, light-brown hair.
Her dress was extremely simple as she wore stylish pants underneath.
Next to her was an older lady with curly dark-brown hair, tied into a neat bun.
She wore a simple but very elegant dress with plentiful layers.
The two ladies's eyes shone in the same bright green.
Count Hebrald knew the two women better than he wished.
The lord of their family was his business rival whom he plotted and successfully carried out a murder against.
Count Hebrald's feet went limp as the two sets of emotionless eyes stared down at him.
They were different.
One pair was aged with deeper and experienced look.
The other pair was young and, in a way, inexperienced.
But, they were both filled with great amount of emotion, and that emotion was pure vengeance.
Count Hebrald slowly staggered backwards.
"Y-You! How did you get in here! You're trespassing! L-Leave!"
But the two women were unresponsive.
The older lady took a step closer, her hand gently sliding into a hidden hole inside her elegant dress.
"Count Hebrald."
Hearing the woman's cold voice, Count Hebrald continued his screaming.
"S-Stop right where you are! B-Bodyguards? Bodyguards! Drag them out!"
He yelled, but there was no answer from the door.
The graceful voice resumed its speech.
"I once thought you to be a reasonable man. Although a coward, you knew the lines a human being should not cross."
Count Hebrald's leg slammed into his desk.
His screams and hopeful shouts for help were left unanswered.
Madam Mailey slowly pulled her hand out of the hidden pocket.
In her hand, a beautiful, ruby inlaid knife.
The knife perfectly matched her simple golden ring.
"But now, you have not only ignored or feigned ignorance for the line, but you have also fully crossed it."
Madam Mailey walked in heavy, but simultaneously also very light steps.
As if she was walking towards her freedom.
"You have turned into a true, yet selfish coward who is not able to oppose the forces of evil."
Count Hebrald's eyes shook as they reflected the silver knife with golden handle.
"Worry not, I will take great pleasure in your screams."
A small, very cruel smile spread across madam Mailey's face.
"It will be my reward as well as my revenge on you, for taking away my husband from me."
He tried to reach out to open a drawer but the ground underneath his legs turned slippery.
He desperately tried to keep his balance, but his body shook as a both of lightning fell from nowhere.
The Count's body stumbled to the floor with his back to the desk.
But, he was clearly conscious.
He tried to move his hands in defense, but he froze.
That is not an analogy, the man's body froze, making him unable to resist.
Madam Mailey stared down at the cowardly Count Hebrald before her.
She was excited unlike ever before.
The man who took her beloved away was here for her to kill.
Madam Mailey was overjoyed.
Like a true noblewoman, madam Mailey lifted her skirt and crouched down before the stiffened Count.
With a light flick of her wrist, the blade flew across the Count's eyelid.
Blood and other fluids flowed down, accompanied by blood wrenching scream.
The painful screech was like melody to madam Mailey.
Her hand slashed many more times, each owning another excruciated shout.
With a wicked smile, madam Mailey skillfully removed the man's reproductive organ.
She placed them next to the body before standing up and observing her work.
Count Hebrald was choking on his own tears and snot.
He was hysterically crying and pleading, but all madam Mailey could hear were melodic tunes.
She gently looked back.
Her daughter, Airina, was watching the scene with both pleased but a little uncomfortable expression.
She enjoyed the man's extreme suffering very much, but the fact that her mother was so very skilled in these things freaked her out.
Airina saw her mother offer her a glance and a slight yearning filled her mind.
Madam Mailey gave her a light nod before taking a step to the side.
Her knife was firmly stabbed into Count Hebrald's empty crotch.
Airina steadily stepped forward.
Her own father's death flashing before her eyes as she lifted the silver blade with golden handle and inlaid rubies.
With a clean movement, Airina stabbed the knife into the Count's right chest.
Count gave another pain-filled scream.
Airina slowly twisted the blade before pulling out and doing the same a few centimeters away.
Very soon, she stopped before the Count's left chest.
Airina wore a deep smile as she, without hesitation, plunged the knife straight through the Count's heart.
She watched as blood slowly seeped out of the Count's mouth.
His breathing ceased and Airina slowly stood up.
Airina left the knife engraved deep inside the Count's left chest.
She used Anti-Divination while also ripping a Spell Scroll from Juny.
Then, she looked to her side.
Airina flinched slightly as she met eyes with her mother.
Her mother was smiling, but it was not the cruel smile from before.
It was a gentle smile, filled with light happiness and slight sadness.
Tears slowly streamed down madam Mailey's cheeks.
She cried both mournful and joyful tears.
She has gotten her revenge.
It was not enough but the extreme rage subsided.
Without the rage, a deep sense of loss crept out.
It was a feeling she has been long suppressing, but she didn't have to anymore.
Count Hebrald was dead.
He had suffered an excruciating death.
It was something she has long wished for, so she felt very happy.
It was then that she tore apart an ancient-looking Spell Scroll.
...
Seeing the guarding men disappear, Ellone and Mariel rushed out from behind a corner.
Ellone used her Claw of Corrosion to destroy all the metal locks.
Mariel then ran behind her to open the doors.
She roughly explained the situation to the people inside.
She then picked out few of the worst-looking people inside and used Enchantment Recovery.
Mariel showed them the safe way out before running to the next cage.
She repeated herself over and over again.
She could feel her throat slowly going dry, but she talked and explained nonetheless.
Mariel infused her spirituality and healed another wounded child.
She gently held a crying woman's hand and led her out before moving to the next cage.
There were ten cages filled with people.
Mariel was worried that she wouldn't have enough Enchantments, but to her surprise, no matter how hurt the adults were, they all refused treatment.
She didn't wish to argue or force anyone to receive the Enchantment.
She gave them a nod before quickly approaching the next cage.
But after opening the third cage, Mariel found out that she was not alone.
Plenty of adults or even older teenagers helped rescuing the other caged civilians.
Mariel also met two other Beyonders whom she quickly befriended.
After giving them a few Enchantments, she moved to a different cage.
By the time Mariel got to the sixth cage, Ellone was done destroying all the locks.
The both of them moved very fast, but they never once tripped over their words.
It was because of the constant practice.
After tens of minutes passed, the two girls finally managed to safely get everyone outside.
Mariel was catching her breath.
She might be a Beyonder and a Clown, but so much movement and talking was bound to leave some traces.
Ellone, who was in a very good condition, stood next to her and pinched a Spell Scroll, making it dissipate.
Seeing the ashes fall down, she gave Mariel a look before pointing out.
"We should quickly leave and meet up with the rest in the hall."
Mariel looked up at her with envy, but she nodded.
"Right, we don't want to get involved in the fight."
Mariel took out a Spell Scroll and roughly tore it.
She then looked behind her.
Ellone did the same.
They looked at the three Beyonders who, for some reason, have yet to leave.
Ellone lightly furrowed her brows before speaking.
"Do you need something from us?"
All three stayed silent.
Ellone was pretty sure that they've never met each other before, but they had very good chemistry.
Although she couldn't really figure out their Sequence like Juny could, she was very sure they were all Low-Sequence Beyonders.
Mariel hummed before moving her eyes to Ellone.
"I think we should go up, there's a high chance that the rest have already finished... give them that Spell Scroll before you leave."
Ellone watched Mariel walk away.
'She ignored them... That's smart.'
She nodded and pulled three Spell Scrolls from underneath her coat.
She went over to the silent three and gave one Spell Scroll to each.
Then, she followed behind Mariel.
Ellone heard light tearing sounds and footsteps behind her, but she paid them no mind.
...
Stepping forward, Airina and her mother passed through the wall.
It was a wall in the Count's master bedroom.
As soon as they emerged from the other side of the painting, Airina gasped.
'Juny was right, it is a safe...'
She pulled out a Spell Scroll Juny gave her, but before she could tear it, her mother gave her a deep look.
"Is it not barbaric to steal dirty money?"
Airina looked at madam Mailey before shaking her head.
"It is because the money is dirty that we can steal it."
Her eyes moved back to the golden coins and notes.
"It would've been used for bad so we can take it and use it for good instead."
Madam Mailey, who was a very sophisticated woman, didn't agree, but she no longer raised any questions.
Airina tore the Spell Scroll and led her spirituality beneath the pile of cash.
Soon enough, a door appeared, leading to Violet-black galaxy.
It was Juny's Pocket Dimension.
All the money fell inside without any resistance.
Finishing that, madam Mailey took out a Spell Scroll and elegantly tore it.
The Spell Scroll burned with Violet-black flames before disappearing.
...
"Why do I have to cover for Vlad?! It's his fault for dying!"
"I swear, even if the Heavens were to fall, I'll never stop complaining about his incompetence! Ptoey!"
Flegry complained as he handled the documents before him.
Out of seemingly nowhere, he felt an ice-cold shiver run down his spine.
"... Is that so?"
With great speed, Flegry knocked over the chair and jumped back.
His eyes moved towards a dark and furthest corner of the room.
There stood a small figure, with strange but aesthetically pleasing clothes.
She had pitch black hair and deep Obsidian eyes.
Her face, her entire being seemed completely emotionless.
"You! State your name!"
Flegry shouted while lifting his hand towards his waist.
The small girl coldly stared at him before reaching into her own coat.
Flegry didn't hesitate to throw one of the small spheres tied around his belt.
The girl took a quick step to the side, dodging the sphere.
But purely this action made Flegry smile.
That was a Bribe-Arrogance! Even if you dodge it, you've already been bribed!'
Immediately, Flegry activated Corrosion, which makes people in a 10 meter radius greedy and irritable.
He watched the girl slowly take out a strange Scroll and calmly tear it.
Flegry laughed seeing her slow movements.
'You're so arrogant.'
He grabbed his knife and rushed at the girl.
The girl gave him an emotionless stare before throwing out a dagger.
But, the dagger didn't even come close to hitting Flegry as he distorted its direction.
Then, he quickly Distorted the distance between the two.
He was very fast, so fast he barely thought about anything.
He was sure he could kill the little and arrogant girl immediately.
He was so quick... and arrogant.
As soon as he came close, the girl's eyes glowed with pure Violet.
A Violet-black flame gathered on top of the girl's palm.
Flegry's body shuttered, through his arrogance, he forgot to distort the girl's intention to attack.
Slowly, he saw the girl's calm and not-at-all arrogant eyes look at him.
She slowly opened her mouth.
"You're too arrogant, you know that?"
Before Flegry could react, the girl's hand moved at the speed of sound, cutting his neck cleanly.
...
"Haha!"
Dager laughed as he stabbed the Blazing Spear through his opponent's chest.
The other two watched this with an awkward silence.
Noticing their stares, Dager gently scratched his cheek.
"You see I- hm. I have to act like a maniac... So, yea."
Just as he said that, Dager felt his insides blend and merge together.
An intense feeling of comfort and completeness emerged from within.
Dager's smile widened.
He took out a Spell Scroll and burned it to crisp.
Seeing this, Shake threw the Beyonder characteristic into the air and tore a Spell Scroll before catching it.
Degster wiped the blood off of his hands with a white cloth before also taking out a Spell Scroll and tearing it.
Then, the three turned around at the same time and made their way up.
...
Natia slowly moved around and gave pointers to the people running away.
Her gaze momentarily moved to the clock tower.
Seeing the time, Natia stopped what she was doing.
'It's time for me to get back. The people have also stopped coming out...'
Nodding, Natia began walking back while tearing a Spell Scroll.
...
Juny watched Flegfy's head flying off as emotion slowly returned to her eyes.
'Huff... preparation rocks!'
Before coming here, Juny used a Spell Scroll and got Darmine's help.
She casted Psychological Cue on herself.
Juny was to be completely emotionless from that moment on, lasting until she killed Flegry.
That way, Bribe-Arrogance, Bribe-Charm, Bribe-Connect and Corrosion would be deemed useless.
She also immediately threw her own Bribe-Arrogance at the man.
This way, her judgement would be clear and precise while the man would be overconfident.
Juny could still feel the slight feeling of extreme self-confidence in the back of her mind.
She didn't like that feeling at all.
'With that last cut, even if he'd use Bribe-Weaken, he would've died.'
With a light hum, Juny placed the dead body away and took a look at the surrounding documents.
'Time to find some incriminating evidence~'
"..."
"I feel bored already."
...
Juny arrived at the hall last.
She gently threw the dead body and separated head to the ground next to the Count Hebrald's corpse.
She then placed multiple stacks of papers and documents on a small table next to the bodies.
Juny walked further into the hall.
She stood on an elevated platform and looked forward.
In front of her was a total of eleven people.
They all stood randomly and unsymmetrically, but there was a certain system.
Dager and Ellone stood closest to the platform with Airina, Shake and Degster behind them.
The rest was either to their side or behind them.
'Where did those three Beyonders come from?'
'I mean, I accounted for someone when I made those extra Spell Scrolls, but why are they here?'
Juny did her best to ignore the three.
Soon enough, her comrades noticed her arrival.
They all ceased what they were doing and turned their whole bodies her way.
Following that, they all placed their right hand to their left chest and their left hand onto their backs.
It was a strange form of salute.
Seeing this, Juny smiled.
It was an overly happy smile.
But she was not smiling why people might think she was.
Juny pulled out a slightly larger Spell Scroll.
She then turned her head slightly to the right.
There was a mirror.
Juny saw her own reflection.
It was a reflection of a little girl who was, while also wasn't, Juny.
Even then, her smile widened as she tore the Spell Scroll.
Violet-black flames enveloped her as well as all the people beneath her.
She watched herself slowly disappear inside the window.
It was then, that her lips parted.
She spoke in a very quiet and childish voice.
"Juny... Happy Birthday."
