Chapter 300: 298, send the brother on his way!
"By the way, I just went to the bar to mess around, you know. There were important things to attend to."
When Luofeng arrived at the parking lot, he chuckled to himself.
"Hahaha!" Li Bo Kai burst into laughter. "Lin Xiaoyun, I suddenly get you."
Lin Xiaoyun said, "I would never give up a forest for a single tree!"
"What about a thicket of thorns and brambles?" Luofeng joked with a laugh.
"..." Lin Xiaoyun was speechless.
Li Bo Kai, meanwhile, laughed so hard he snorted like a pig.
"Brother Feng is still Brother Feng, ruthless as ever," Chen Dali said, giving a thumbs up.
Zhou Xiaofeng felt a bit envious of the brothers. It seemed joining this alliance wasn't such a bad idea.
"Xiaofeng, you'll soon realize that hanging out with us is a lot of fun," Li Bo Kai said affectionately, putting an arm around Zhou Xiaofeng's shoulders.
"I'll need you to look after me in the future, Spinach Brother," Zhou Xiaofeng said, squirming unnaturally under Li Bo Kai's arm.
"No worries. When you're in the Capital City, I've got your back," Li Bo Kai said confidently.
He even made a fist-bump gesture, but Zhou Xiaofeng's response was more forced than spontaneous.
He really wasn't used to this kind of interaction.
Luofeng was on the verge of bursting into laughter. "Xiaofeng, don't be scared. Your Spinach Brother isn't gay."
Li Bo Kai let go of Zhou Xiaofeng and stared at him with a deathly gaze. "That guy? You think I'm gay?"
Zhou Xiaofeng could only offer a wry smile.
"You've done it now! I'm challenging you all to a drinking contest!" Li Bo Kai grumbled.
Zhou Xiaofeng said, "Sure, let's drink till we drop! I can hold my liquor very well! I need some booze to drown my sorrows lately!"
Li Bo Kai said, "Everyone claims to be a good drinker, just like everyone says they're a stud in bed. But when it really comes down to it? They all turn out to be limp shrimp."
"Oh?" Luofeng perked up at this comment, glancing at himself.
Of course. Luofeng didn't just represent a tolerance for alcohol. He was talking about that other thing. And in that area, he was even more unbeatable.
"Brother Feng, stay out of this! No one wants to challenge you to a drinking contest." Li Bo Kai knew Luofeng well; he remembered how Luofeng had bested a whole crowd during that car race.
"Hello, Bosses!"
About half an hour later, the group arrived at One-Third Bar. Their greeter was Zhang Shunyong.
"Lead the way. Get us two sets of Big Shenlong to start. We've brought a new friend today, so make sure everything is well-prepared and that the atmosphere team brings out the prettier ones," Luofeng instructed Zhang Shunyong.
"Absolutely, Brother Feng! Just leave it to me," said an excited Zhang Shunyong.
A Big Shenlong! That's a hundred thousand! A small commission would be five thousand. Two sets would be ten thousand?
After entering through the VIP passageway, they reached the supreme booth next to the dance floor.
There were plenty of girls on the dance floor, but most were part of the atmosphere team.
High heels, black stockings, tight dresses.
Quite revealing.
Once Luofeng and his group were seated, the light boards lit up, as was customary in the bar.
A group of bunny girls wearing illuminated headbands approached, pushing small carts.
The DJ on stage also started shouting, "A big thank you to our guests in Booth XXX for their generous patronage!"
It was the usual spiel.
The spotlight landed on Zhou Xiaofeng, making him feel bewildered.
He had only frequented small places in the Rainbow Region before. His family, the Zhou Family, had money, but they were nothing compared to these wealthy young masters. After all, they couldn't even compete with Wu Yufan's house, could they? He wasn't accustomed to such attention.
"Bro, stand up, wave your hands, and cheer to attract some girls!" Li Bo Kai called out to Zhou Xiaofeng.
Zhou Xiaofeng naturally stood up and did as Li Bo Kai suggested, letting out all his pent-up gloom.
When the two sets of Big Shenlong were delivered, Zhang Shunyong said, "Brother Feng, our new establishment is gifting you ten dozen beers. Should we bring them out now?"
"Are you planning to drink them all yourself?" Luofeng teased. "You're being tactless again, Xiaoyong. This new brother here claims he's good at drinking. I'm assigning you a task."
"Please tell me, Brother Feng."
"Start by having three glasses with our friend Xiaofeng here. Let's see what his limit is," Luofeng instructed.
Zhou Xiaofeng overheard and replied, "Champagne? I can handle that. It's hard to get me drunk!"
"Hahaha, Xiaoyong, I'll raise the stakes for you. The Big Shenlong is all yours to drink. Once it's finished, we'll order more. Today, we need to teach this arrogant new brother a lesson," Luofeng teased. "Xiaoyong, it's time to send our brother on his way!"
"No problem, whatever Brother Feng says," Zhang Shunyong said with a smile.
But soon enough, Zhang Shunyong began to feel awkward.
What happened to not getting drunk? Three glasses down, and Zhou Xiaofeng... was gone? Out after just three drinks?
"Bro, are you messing with me?"
Zhang Shunyong could only grumble inwardly, feeling quite speechless.
"Hahaha, I'm taking a photo! When this guy wakes up, I'll show it to him. 'This is what you call holding your liquor?'" Lin Xiaoyun whipped out his phone.
"Seriously, he's the biggest braggart I've ever met," Chen Dali remarked.
"I agree, all talk and no action," Luofeng said. "Arrange for him to be sent to the Keely Hotel. Put it all on my tab!"
Zhang Shunyong nodded. "No problem, Brother Feng!"
Soon after, Zhou Xiaofeng was whisked away.
Meanwhile, Luofeng was also sending messages on his phone to the Zhongyi Tang Company, investigating Zhou Xiaofeng's personal life.
It turned out that Zhou Xiaofeng hadn't actually been boasting—he genuinely believed he could hold his liquor. But that was only by his own standards.
This was because the alcohol he had been drinking all along was counterfeit, which made it difficult to get drunk on. Plus, it was expensive. And so, the guy genuinely thought he was a heavyweight drinker.
Being young, he had only started drinking during the period when his parents were having problems.
Indeed, many bars, especially smaller ones, have this issue.
Such counterfeit alcohol isn't unpalatable. On the contrary, it's often quite enjoyable but has a low alcohol content.
You could drink perhaps two bottles of it, whereas normally you might only manage one. That way, the bar's sales go up, don't they?
And they specifically prey on naive newcomers like him.
For experienced drinkers, on the other hand, they are always served genuine liquor without any fuss.
However, just as the group was chuckling and laughing, Chen Bolin made his way to Luofeng's booth.
