Two Petals of Demons

Chapter 8: Voidness in Life

"This place is certainly interesting." Gil tried to slash the air with the scales he was holding.

"Where are we exactly? In addition to that, why are we the only two people that are left in this hellish place?" Sakurai questioned Gil as well as the writer.
"It's been a while since we have spoken face to face, haven't we... Hime-sama?" I certainly wish there were more opportunities where I could have gotten to know you better, but alas for the timing. It is certainly much better right now." Gil's rationality was soon declining and his sacrificial part was rising. He had sacrificed his romantic sanity to attain the power of Anubis. Such a high price for such a higher order of god. Someone who controls the souls of the dead and guides them to the underworld.
"SHUT UP! You think you're all so high and upcoming being the leader of our group. You know exactly what you are. You're an angel to this group. Calling me a princess and everything? You certainly do have a sly tongue. Well, what do you want to discuss about?" Sakurai asked the turned-insane Gil.
Having these two individuals in the same bubble with no rescue is certainly one of the most dangerous things to witness as the narrator. I don't know what will be the outcome of a fight of this magnitude, neither do I know the state of the world if the bubble even breaks. Both individuals want to commit Earth's UN level War Crimes on the other person, and they will be able to endure most of the attacks as well. This is certainly one of the most interesting dilemmas for me to witness, at the same time I worry for the true state of the individuals inside the bubble as well. For me to reach this point in the story, I have just been narrating a small portion of a story, and it has already reached a point where the two individuals have met.
In a typical romance story, the two individuals would either confess to each other, or would chat, gradually becoming friends before committing to the next stage in a relationship. However, these are never normal creatures that I deal in, are they. We are dealing with individuals where power scaling is absolutely useless. Each domain is powerful in their own right and if used in the correct instance can shatter the very boundaries of science that dictate the co-existence of dimensions with each other.
"Miraculous creatures". They are absolutely useless in handling the affairs of the world, but after attaining the "truth" of the world, they gain insight and have to mature much faster than their regular peers. This usually causes them to isolate themselves from the regular general crowd. A secret society that each one of these individuals has a goal to create.
But in the end, it is all for vain or not?
"I look at our present situation as beneficial for at one of us" Gil snickered. The smug look he possessed could be seen even through the dark cloak that he was wearing.
"Just how long will you last in a domain where touching leads to your soul being separated from the main body. Do you even realize how much power that I contain? TORTURE. I LIVE TO TORTURE STRONG INDIVIDUALS. AND I TORTURE INFACTUATIONS. PEOPLE ARE SO USELESS WHEN THEY ARE NOT POWERFUL AT ALL, AREN'T THEY??" Sakurai burst out laughing as she was totally consumed in an adrenaline and estrogen. Hormonal imbalance seemed to absolutely consume her. "HAHAHHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHHAAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHH! SUCH A PERFECT SPECIMEN. ONE IN A HUNDRED QUINTILLION. THERE'S JUST SO MUCH POTENTIAL WITH YOU AND ME. I JUST WISH THAT WASN'T SOMETHING THAT WAS CONSTANTLY WATCHING US..."

wait... what?
How do these individuals know that I even exist in their story? Just what has the writer filled in their heads to give them the ability to understand that I am even reading their life story. I don't know the complete outcome of this fight, but this is certainly one of the strangest things that I am feeling. I am not scared, but I feel like my position is being threatened. Is this my divine punishment from the Binary Gods for being incompetent when the Primordials were initially existing?
"Leave it Sakurai. I don't know how long you can continue screaming when your heart will be placed on these scales... and once I have determined if you are truly pure like the world presumes you to be, then I shall be the first one to take action. Otherwise, I will definitely be the one to award you the final judgement." Gil attained a fighting stance with his scales becoming earrings. Legs spread out slightly and controlled breathing. He had been practicing this form of fighting for a while since he knew of the dangers that he would be facing when he attained this power.
"OH MY, YOU ARE TRULY SOMEONE THAT I SHOULD APPROACH WITH CAUTION, ISN'T IT? NOT ALL THAT GLITTERS IS GOLD, YET EVEN THE SILVER TONGUE IS ENOUGH TO CLEAVE THROUGH THE DOMAINS ITSELF. WHAT POWER CAN YOU EVEN ATTAIN THAT CAN SLICE THROUGH THE FURY OF THE UNDERWORLD AS WELL AS SPRING? NOTHING". Sakurai entered into a state of enraged mode. Her portion of the domain tore open her dress and hands emerged from the domain which covered her completely. Her hair turned into the flora that plagues the season of spring.
"So, this is it, isn't it. A battle between two gods. I do want to confess something though. You are one of the most fascinating people that I have met until now. You don't speak much, so a lot of people presume that you are generally shy in nature. However, after seeing you approach me right now, I certainly know that you are not quite because you're shy. YOU REMAIN QUITE BECAUSE YOU CONTINUE TO BE ONE OF THE MOST BATSHIT INSANE PEOPLE I HAVE COME ACROSS." Gil screamed across the void.
Sakurai stopped in her tracks. This was the first time that someone apart from her late parents and Adoren had called her insane. Clara wouldn't dare to call her insane because she thought most of the behavior showcased was a façade to her actual mode.
"Certainly, despicable what you did to those individuals. You think I haven't heard. The torture princess. The nickname that originated when you apparently accidentally tortured to death seventy-five children from various background. And all because you were in the mood to kill some people. How unfortunate I would say. My Reapers for that exact reason. There's nothing that gets hidden from me. ABSOLUTELY BLOODY NOTHING." Gil poised a proud stance. He knew that almost no one alive knew about her torturous activities.
That is, until now...
"So, how are you alive after knowing this fact? Then you should also know the actual reason as to why I did those activities. It was all a distraction to get your attention. You're lovely attention. The love of loves. The king of kings. The true emperor of our kind." Sakurai started to praise the ego of Gil. She tried to find a weakness that she could exploit in this fight. She knew that in a battle of domains, she would mostly lose. Gil prepares for any situation and therefore would be already mentally prepared on the actions to take if a fight between the two ever occurred. Her mind raced, as she was facing a battle between time and strategy.
"It's useless. USELESS. ABSOLUTELY USELESS. Whatever you're thinking right now is going to soon be useless in this battle. To this, I raise my staff, and hope to attain your heart." Gil chanted, as he was prepared to leap towards Sakurai.
"Then let this be one of the final chapters in your story." Sakurai countered Gil by attaining a defensive position.
A battle in the abyssal void that couldn't be approached by anyone. A space that is present in between dimensions. No creature exists in that place, yet these two are creating energy that allows them to emit even light. A power radiating from within them that allows to continue fighting even in temperatures nearing absolute temperature.
Such is the power of divine.
Such is the power of servants.
Such is the power of demons.
Such is the power of avatars.
Who is right or wrong?
Who is the protagonist or the antagonist?
Wait... why can I hear someone laughing in my head? What is going on?
Is there even a villain in this story?
A clash began between the two deadly gods. As the sands of time started to trickle into the domain of spring, Sakurai was forced to use her second domain that would absorb the time through the souls that she had accumulated throughout her lifetime.
"DESPICABLE DISPLAY OF POWER SAKURAI. AND I THOUGHT YOU WOULD BE THE ONE TO STAND WITH ME." Gil questioned her, as Sakurai was being pushed back with the sheer force of violent attacks on her.
"You dare underestimate me?" She fashioned her hands into a commanded the hands of her domain to grab Gil.
"This isn't going to work Sakurai... I think I have already won this battle!"
