" Then last thing I remembered was I nothing.
Than my memory was erase but the thing I remembered is all the song and even future song that wasn't released yet by the artist but some future investments.
Than nothing else about the past life. "
I was born on June 16, 1971, in Staten Island, New York City.
Staten Island, one of New York City's five boroughs, is often considered the city's quieter and more suburban area. In the 1960s and 70s, it was characterized by a mix of working-class neighborhoods and pockets of affluence. Its relative isolation, due to limited public transit compared to other boroughs, gave it a distinct, small-town feel.
Stapleton and Park Hill were areas with a growing African-American community, often shaped by poverty and systemic neglect. The Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, completed in 1964, connected Staten Island to Brooklyn, spurring suburban development and changing the borough's demographics. Despite its tranquility in some areas, Staten Island still bore the marks of the social upheaval and racial tensions of the era, mirroring broader issues faced by the city.
My mother name Afeni Shakur, born Alice Faye Williams in 1947 in North Carolina, was a revolutionary, writer, and mother of Tupac Shakur. She moved to New York City as a young woman, joining the Black Panther Party in the 1960s. A fierce activist, she became a leading voice in the fight against racial injustice, advocating for Black empowerment and community programs.
In the 1960s, Black Americans faced systemic racism, segregation, and economic inequality despite civil rights advancements. Housing discrimination through redlining kept Black families in underfunded neighborhoods, and schools were often unequal. Police brutality and over-policing were common, fostering fear and resentment. Black workers faced limited job opportunities, often relegated to low-wage roles. Amid these challenges, the Civil Rights Movement sought justice, while groups like the Black Panther Party emerged to combat inequality and protect communities.
And during this mom fell in love with Kenny shakur who was on the us army were he joined the army to giving food on the table In the hood either you joined to earn the money gang or work in the auto factory. But dad decided to joined army because he wanted to serve the country because that was his dream as a kid plus he did study high level to get a good job were he drop out for the sister and in dad family with him totals of five siblings one older bother , one older sister, two younger sisters. But older brother died in the gang violence than older also died due to poor health were as a kid she had very poor health because of that she was the most taken care in the family.
Than form my mother side mother have a sister, Gloria Jean, was an important figure in her life. Gloria, often referred to as "Glo," was supportive of Afeni during her struggles, particularly during the challenging years of her activism with the Black Panther Party. Gloria provided emotional support and helped take care of Afeni's children at times when Afeni was fighting legal battles or dealing with personal issues.
Back to the story. So In 1968, protests connected to the Black Panther Party were largely driven by their efforts to combat police brutality, systemic racism, and economic injustice faced by Black communities.
A significant event was the reaction to the arrest and trial of co-founder Huey Newton, who was accused of killing a police officer. The "Free Huey" movement mobilized nationwide protests, rallies, and demonstrations, emphasizing the Panthers' demands for racial equality and self-defense against state violence. These protests highlighted growing tensions between activists and law enforcement during the Civil Rights Movement.
During this time mother and father also was on this protest due that father was fired from army for creating large numbers of porters.
And In April 1969, she , dad and twenty other Black Panthers were arrested and charged with several counts of conspiracy to bomb police stations and other public places in New York.
Bail was set at $100,000 (equivalent to $830,853 in 2023) for each of the 21 suspects. The Black Panthers decided to raise bail money for dad and mom first, so those two could work on raising bail for the remaining 19 members. Inorder to get the money every black community or black panther members donated money to bell the mom and dad.
The pre-trial started in February 1970 (during this mother was pregnant with me ) and the actual trial commenced on September 8, 1970. Charges brought against her and the other members of the Black Panther Party were attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, conspiracy to bomb buildings, and conspiracy. Mother represented herself at trial, interviewing several witnesses and arguing in court.
Her statements and questioning of the government infiltrators during the trial are credited with helping to expose the FBI's corruption and help save the Panther 21.
All this story I listened is from my dad mouth who admire mom for being warrior.
