Tsunade Can Hear My Inner Voice

Chapter 149: The Taste of Night

Returning home, Kamizuki Hikari began packing his things.

This trip would take him far, so he needed to bring enough food.

There would likely be plenty of free time along the way, so he could also revise his novel drafts.

His sketchbook had to come too—after all, the journey would surely present many scenic views worth capturing.

Speaking of which, Kazahana Koyuki was a princess, wasn't she? A white knight and a princess—wasn't that just perfect?

What else...?

As for whether he should inform his older brother, Hikari decided it was better not to. Right now, Kamizuki Izumo and Mikan were deep in their honeymoon phase, all lovey-dovey. Even if he went to see Izumo, he wouldn't get much attention anyway.

Besides, this mission didn't strike him as particularly dangerous.

Without the Six Paths' power, who could stand in his way?

Hell yeah!

*Boom! Boom! Boom!*

Violent knocking erupted at his door. Judging by the force, Hikari could tell it wasn't a stranger.

Among the women he knew, only a few were this rough—Tsunade was one, but she had just gotten off work and wouldn't have time to visit him. That left... Anko.

*Crack!*

His door officially gave out, revealing a smug-looking Anko standing in the doorway.

"Hey, I thought you weren't home!"

Seeing Hikari suddenly appear before her, Anko scratched her head sheepishly.

(Hikari: You kicked my door in—of course I'd show up!)

"Heh, I'll fix it later, no need to thank me!"

Anko waved it off casually, showing zero remorse for the damage she'd caused.

(Hikari: Is shamelessness something to be proud of?!)

She casually pushed the broken door aside and sauntered in with a grin.

"Stop right there—don't come any closer!" Hikari didn't know what she was up to, but he was certain it couldn't be good.

"Don't be so cold! We've got some unforgettable youthful memories together, don't we?" Anko's smile was radiant as she slowly advanced.

Hikari's face darkened. "If you're talking about that time you suddenly turned your hand into a snake to scare me, then yeah, unforgettable is right. I still remember it vividly!"

"You're so petty!"

Completely unfazed, Anko boldly latched onto his arm. "So, I heard you're heading to the Land of Snow soon—"

"Hold on, who told you that? This is a classified mission—"

"Classified my ass! The whole village knows Tsunade-sama assigned the Ino-Shika-Chō team to escort her little lover boy on this mission!"

"I swear, I had no idea about this!" Hikari felt deeply wronged. He hadn't even climbed into Tsunade's bed yet—how had rumors gotten this out of hand?

"Eh, I don't mind. Ahem—I mean, I believe you!"

Hikari's eyebrow twitched as he pushed her away. "Just say what you want. No need to get so close."

"Well, I was thinking... since you might die out there, and we're such good friends, why not let me have some fun before you go? I heard it feels amazing for women, and I've never tried it before, so... heehee!" As she spoke, Anko's hands began wandering.

Under normal circumstances, Hikari would've "taught her a lesson" to make sure she knew what was appropriate to say and what wasn't.

But today wasn't normal.

If even Anko knew about this, then surely others did too. He could already imagine the parade of visitors he'd have tonight—and she definitely wouldn't be the last.

"Go home. I'm not dying that easily. Whatever you want, we'll talk after I get back!" He grabbed her shoulders, steering her toward the door.

"No way! If you were really safe, you wouldn't be saying stuff like that! That means you're definitely—ow!" Before she could finish, Hikari flicked her forehead.

"Can't you wish me well for once?! Do I look like someone who dies young?!"

Anko studied him for a moment, then nodded solemnly. "Yeah, you kinda do."

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Hikari angrily dragged her to the door. "You—get out. Now."

"Don't be so heartless... Fine!" She tried to resist but wilted under his murderous glare. "I'll wait for you to come back so we can celebrate, then."

"Great. Now leave." With that, he unceremoniously shoved her outside.

Finally, peace and quiet.

'Thank you, Anko, for your sacrifice. Because of you, I now have silence. Bless you—'

*Boom! Boom! Boom!*

"You're back alrea—Ayame? What are you doing here?" Hikari yanked the door open mid-yell, then froze.

The person standing there wasn't Anko.

Wait, was Ayame here to... ahem.

At that thought, he quickly stepped aside. "Ayame! Come in!"

"Who did you think it was?" Ayame rolled her eyes before stepping inside, carrying a bento box. "I heard you're going on a long trip. I didn't have anything else prepared, so I brought some dishes Dad made this afternoon. Try them."

(Teuchi: With a daughter like this, I really wanna smack Kamizuki Hikari into oblivion.)

Hearing her words, Hikari sighed in relief—but also felt a faint pang of disappointment.

If Ayame had the same idea as Anko, he might've actually agreed.

After all, he was a man. Some things went without saying.

"It's just a long-distance mission. It's not like I've never been on one before. Right after I graduated from the Academy, the Third Great Ninja War broke out. Armed with just two kunai, I fought my way from the southern front to the western front, then to the eastern front. I slaughtered my enemies left and right, leaving them in complete disarray. In the end, thanks to the combined efforts of the Fourth Hokage and me, the war was brought to an end, securing over a decade of peace for the shinobi world."

"I don't believe a single word of that." Ayame was utterly unimpressed by his shameless boasting. "Back then, you had just graduated. Kakashi was already a Jonin at that time. If you'd said he ended the war, I might have believed you just a little."

"Okay, fine, I added a bit of flair! But the point is, my contributions were vital to Konoha's victory and the lasting peace that followed!" Hikari refused to admit that back then, he'd been nothing more than a weakling.

"Sure, sure. Anyway, eat up. The shop's busy, so I need to get back."

"You're leaving already? Won't you stay and chat a bit longer?" Hikari grabbed her hand. Letting such a sweet, lovely girl leave just like that felt like a waste.

"Don't mess around. I'll be waiting for you at the shop when you get back. No fooling around out there!" Ayame smiled gently, like an understanding older sister—until her next words.

"If you do fool around, I'll cut it off."

She mimed a scissor motion near Hikari's sensitive area, then turned and walked away, laughing.

All that remained was Hikari, clutching his crotch in terror.

The sweet girl had finally gone full yandere...
