[TS] Obsessed Gamer: The Ultimate Return

Chapter 70

[Victory]

We won.

Against SY, the team known as the strongest in the world, and they really lived up to that title.

[Noona Heueung : Whoa, LOL we actually beat them]

[IlIIIIIllIlIll : Rayz and Kamal, you guys were insane. I’m definitely keeping this game replay as a treasure]

[Noona Heueung : For real, wow… I never thought I’d beat SY.]

[Nami Artisan Oda Hae : Rainbow, I’m such a huge fan! Can I add you as a friend, please? T_T]

The moment the game ended, the team members couldn’t hide their excitement and started chatting away.

Honestly, even though it was just a normal game, I doubt anyone expected to meet the full SY squad and come out victorious against them.

Their tier was only around platinum on average, after all.

Of course, I wasn’t much different from them.

Even though the word [Victory] was clearly flashing in front of my eyes, it took me a moment to fully accept that we had actually won.

“Phew.”

To be honest, when I started the game, I hardly thought we would actually win.

The gap between the two teams was that stark, and the flow of the actual game confirmed it.

The biggest factors that allowed us to win were about two things.

First, the opponents were seriously just messing around and having fun in a casual way.

They were SY.

If they had been serious right from the start, or at least halfway through, we would have never stood a chance.

But they seemed relaxed and basically threw the game back and forth the whole time.

Second, the strong presence of Kamal and Nightmare, who led the game from the top.

GRS Nightmare (Nightmare).

I don’t know if he hadn’t played much recently or if he just wasn’t in good shape, but even though his tier had dropped to Grandmaster, there was no doubt about his skill.

In fact, during this game, he even faced the humiliation of dying to the ADC Longbow early on, but soon enough, he made an impressive comeback.

Moreover, Nightmare joined the game around mid-game and, without even using voice chat, immediately understood my intentions and followed along.

In short, our synergy was quite good.

We played around with SY to such an extent.

Especially the backdoor with the ultimate at the very end made me think I definitely had to save that replay.

While I managed to create countless memorable moments as a Prisoner, it was my first time creating such a scene against the full SY squad as “gameplayswell4148.”

‘Seeing the epic plays of the deceased from my perspective felt pretty nice.’

Lost in random thoughts, I glanced at the lobby window.

‘By the way, I really didn’t expect to run into them…’

I then looked at the results window that popped up.

[SY TheOne]

[SY YunGi]

[SY Rainbow]

[SY Longbow]

[SY GuineaPig]

It hadn’t been long since I deleted my Prisoner account, but seeing those IDs in the game results felt nostalgically fresh.

Facing Rainbow and the SY squad again wouldn’t have been strange in the past.

But here we were in a normal match.

One where the players were all under level 30, at that.

‘I think I can understand why they opted for a normal game…’

From my observations during the match, it seemed like the SY players were all just having a good time together.

Though I didn’t know much about the SY team, I could guess this game was more like a reunion celebration for Rainbow’s return.

[SY TheOne has left the lobby.]

[SY Longbow has left the lobby.]

Soon, the SY players began to disappear one by one from the lobby.

Since they hadn’t taken the game seriously to begin with, they probably didn’t place much significance on this loss.

‘And they shouldn’t.’

[SY Rainbow has left the lobby.]

‘Hmm. Everyone has left.’

The SY players all exited the lobby soon after the game ended.

Even Rainbow, who was one of the last to stay, said nothing until the very end.

‘Still, a bit unexpected.’

To be honest, I was a little worried they might recognize me after the game and send a friend request or message, but thankfully, that didn’t happen.

‘Well, it’s kind of ridiculous to think they’d recognize me based on gameplay, especially since our positions were different.’

Of course, given the timing—being shortly after Prisoner had disappeared—there might be some suspicion, but just that.

It’s only natural that Rainbow wouldn’t feel confident about recognizing me.

‘Well, we’ll probably meet again soon enough, anyway.’

It was nothing to stress over.

[Level 30]

With this win, I finally achieved the long-awaited level 30.

I had reached the first milestone towards solo rank.

‘What a relief.’

The amount of experience gained was proportionate to game time, so with my tendency to end games frequently, I inevitably took longer to achieve level 30 than expected.

That prolonged process was pretty torturous.

Quitting early was one thing, but intentionally trolling was really something I couldn’t stand.

You’d think writing a 5700-character report daily was a testament to my frustration.

[Nami Artisan Oda Hae : Ah… You left T_T Please accept my friend request!]

[IlIIIIIllIlIll : GG, but still, beating SY is something to celebrate!]

[Noona Heueung : For real, LOL. I never thought we would win this game. Just meeting them was an honor!]

[IlIIIIIllIlIll : ? Wow, I didn’t know Kamal was a former Chinese pro player. Whoa, even a Red Cup runner-up!]

[Noona Heueung : ? Really? Who?]

[IlIIIIIllIlIll : Definitely Nightmare!]

[Noona Heueung : So then, what about Rayz…?]

The teammates seemed to be lingering in the lobby, still in awe of the game, but I didn’t feel like joining their conversation.

‘There’s no need to stick around for no reason.’

What if Nightmare came over to say something to me? That would be awkward.

I quickly left the lobby.

Afterwards, no friend requests came my way.

That was a relief.

‘Alright then…’

I was about to take a placement test when I decided to stop.

There was something I wanted to check first.

‘Let’s see what’s going on after a long time.’

Recently, I hadn’t been paying much attention to community news.

I had been too busy leveling up my smurf account, and also, the community was mostly just filled with the same Prisoner-related posts anyway.

But now the situation had changed a bit.

The full SY squad had appeared in a normal game, so naturally, I thought there would be some hype about that.

‘I can’t miss this.’

Unable to hold back my curiosity, I logged into the community.

+

– Crazy, LOL

– Nightmare is unreal, seriously. He’s annihilating SY all by himself.

– Who’s Rayz? He looks like a Chinese trainee based on how he plays with Nightmare.

+

As expected, the real-time reactions were intense.

I scrolled through posts to find the reactions from within the game.

– Whoa, LOL is this a villain’s appearance?

– What did the opponents do to deserve this? LOL

– The opponents’ average tier is Diamond, too.

– Whoa, seriously, they’ll have stories to tell for life.

– For real, LOL.

+

– But hey, Rayz in the mid has a 100% win rate on a smurf account?

– No way, that’s real? LOL.

– 100% win rate smurf vs SY 5-man, a legendary showdown here! LOL.

– And Kamal’s actually Nightmare?

– ? Is this real? It’s a normal match, right?

– No, it’s not normal; it’s a low-level match, LOL.

– What the hell? LOL.

– The invincible shield vs the spear that pierces anything, a battle for the ages!

– Is it really Prisoner?

– Can’t be. It’s just an ordinary one-trick.

– Rayz made a nice play, that’s all.

– The mid difference is huge, though.

– What do you mean mid difference? Is Rainbow washed up already? Next Red Cup is dead.

– No, it’s TheOne in mid.

+

– What’s up? Is the community owner back?

– But seriously, who is Rayz?

– Watching Rayz play seems insane, is he a Chinese trainee?

– No way, bring Prisoner back!

– This is the Prisoner board, the Prisoner board, the Prisoner board, the Prisoner board, the Prisoner board, the Prisoner board.

The Epic Battle) Dia 3 Lee Sin vs GuineaPig

  ∧,,∧

 (,,・∀・)

~(_u,uノ

(Imagine a not-so-cute cat pic here)

The foundational ‘jungler’ Dia 3 with a 53% win rate, Lee Sin jungle, is better than the pro gamer GuineaPig who’s a Challenger and Red Cup champion. -> Upvote

No way, a tool like that dares to enter the jungle??? They should just ward up!

– Embarrassing, you’ll next get called a butcher.

– Info) Back in the day, junglers used to be ward spammers.

– The geeks popping up are so funny, it’s like cockroaches after pest control.

+

– Wait, is this game for real?

– Rayz-Kamal combo? LOL, that’s totally wild.

– Whoa… how is SY being so toyed around? What kind of strategy is that?

– You complete fools, can’t you see SY is just playing around? Clearly, SY will win anyway.

– No way, next down-voter.

– But honestly, SY is securing every objective, so they are in a significant lead. The bottom difference is insane.

– Wait, what? What are they doing right now?

– You’re making that kind of judgment here?

– LOL, they even pretend to join top while minions aren’t being pushed. These guys are super into their roleplay! What the hell?

– Whoa… is this real?

– Are they actually losing?

– Damn, SY really needs to get their act together for the next Red Cup!

– No, you “over-immersed” one, get out!

– But seriously, Rayz and Kamal were just incredible. How’d they do that?

– Is there a pro team that gets stomped in a low-level game? Is there really a pro team that gets stomped in a low-level game?

The lengthy posts ultimately boiled down to one matter.

– So, who is Rayz, anyway?

– I heard he’s Chinese?

– With a Korean nickname?

– Must’ve used a translator.

– NO WAY, he’s Korean!

– How do you know?

– Just a hunch.

As one of the heroes of victory, natural attention turned to me.

‘Hmm…’

For me, it wasn’t necessarily a good thing nor a bad one.

After all
